This place is absolutely worthless. Just a safety valve in a corrupt "pass the buck" system that ensures only privileged receive services. It's a do-nothing agency that will strap you with the worst burn then you arrived there with!

The most friendliest volunteers and staff. This place has helped me a couple times. Defiantly is more then just a food bank, and resource center. These people go above and beyond to do what they can to help everyone!!!!!
Don't trust the higher up managers here. They banned my husband because he is mentally and physically disabled. We almost had a chance to get off the street permanently, but because he was banned for whiny personal fake opinions. Were stuck outside till we get housing. Now hopefully we can sue because the kind worker from coloration for the homeless is giving us good attorney numbers.
Didn't help me or my family. We went in homeless and hungry. All we got was rotting food and thrown out. Managed to get a place to live and asked for rental assistance since they are number one on the "assistance list"
The amount of help they have is none. The food they give is rotten or rotting. Personally I believe that the actual government help is going into someone's pocket. No matter when I call they never have the funds ever. Magical. Defund this worthless "Action Center" and build a new one that can actually helpm
THIS PLACE IS LIFE SAVING FOR PEOPLE IN NEED.... THEY WILL GIVE YOU CLOTHES.. GOOD LEADS ON HOUSING... THE FOOD BANK IS AMAZING...

I know this place is here to help the staff is amazing but you can tell they are under funded for the amount of help they need to provide... Food is mostly bad you take it home to just throw it away, very sad.

The Action center is a wonderful place when it comes to needing clothing, Food, and they even help with rental assistance. For residents of Jefferson County, I highly recommend checking the Action Center out when times get rough.
Most of foods was expired and broken sealed garbages, some staffs are rude to controlling push hurrying that they mad at me not to watch even expiration date and broken seal. Some expired foods contaminated food poisoning and I got sick, not worth to go get foods from rude staffs.
Some staffs are extremely rude and unhappy with their jobs, I doubt they maybe are volunteering work at there to serve their court order or for their tickets? I just guess I don't know why are they that rude.
The rules have changed and nobody advised me before I got there. But thanks to one person in particular my experience was a positive one in the end in the beginning it was not positive at all.
Call ahead. Appointments recommended. It's usually crowded, be prepared to wait. Bring all your documents. Many services offered. Water and bathroom available,as is parking. Wheelchair friendly.
Great place for food and other things when you're down and out, but be prepared to be there for a couple of hours...
People are genuine and go out of their way to help.

I definitely appreciate the food (when it's not rotten and moldy), clothing and other services that are available here. I've had a few less than hospitable, bordering on outright rude, encounters with a few of the volunteers here... to include today: the volunteer who is stationed at the very first desk, which is the very first person with whom everyone (who is seeking services here) is required to interact with in order to "check in" for any pending appointment(s)...so if that doesn't turn your stomach sour, surely the variety of rotten (grey-colored) meats and fermenting produce available to the clientele WILL. I'd recently called to bring this rotting food issue to their attention and was met with defensiveness and resistance, the possibility that people could end up with food poisoning held no substantial concern for the man on the phone who himself admitted to eating meat that was grey and 2 months past date. Eww. The last two times I've come to JAC for food and clothing, I left with very little food, because 90% of it was putrescent. So please be wary. Word to the wise: If your pinky accidentally pierces a cantaloupe because you simply picked it up - don't take it!
Come on Action Center, take some action on providing edible meat and produce! Most of the volunteers are outstanding, amiable and caring individuals. WHO ARE THE parties charged with being qualified thus, responsible to exercise the quality control of the food? WHO ensures that the condition of your food products are within Federal Health Code Guidelines? Someone will be taking responsibility when someone either becomes seriously ill or dies from consuming your bacteria-ridden food, which is a totally avoidable! I'll be adding a video clip to my next review. Honestly, I would be embarrassed to offer rotting food. I find it offensive to be offered food that I wouldn't eat myself.
If you are need of help they do have program called pathways. Pearl is a kind and ever helpful and works for the pathway program. If you are homeless they have a way for you to get mail here. They have clothes, food and more. They take donations to help clothes the needy. They are a volunteer ran mostly. Get food from places like Whole Foods, natural grocery, safe way and more. Help with getting you enrolled into college. Tons of other great things.
UPDATE: I forgot to say to please call ahead. Or go in and ask for appointment. Please have some idea off what you need. Or if you want to do more than one thing per day.
If you are on the pathway program. You can get help with vouchers. Those depend on what they have.
Please be kind to the employees because most off them volunteers and only want to be kind too you.
Help this place help people. Help with your time, help with your finances. This is an outstanding resource for people in need. It is as well run as it possibly could be. Spend an afternoon, take your scout troop and volunteer to help.

I don't go very often but when my family needs help there is always open arms from the staff here. I recently went to the food bank. We needed help with food and the new building is stunning a great new office building. And the new shopping for grocery store is very nice. There was a cut down on staff and some of the other people to come for help were very rude and mean yelling at the staff complaining about waiting and not have ingredients their numbers called. It was very uncalled for since we are there for help and your staff are helping. I want to say thank you from our family to the action centers.
Great resource for food, clothing and other resources. The people there are great, really care about the community.
Long waits. I went there signed up then proceeded to wait. They decided to make me wait while they were waitin for another lady to finish her intake process. I'd already been there an hour or so. Don't know if they're Disabled Vet Friendly...but I wasn't treated fairly. Then they got offended because I called them on the b.s.!!

I received free fileing for my income tax. Ever Monday from 1200pm to400 pm have to be there befor 300pm doors close at 300pm .Walk up stairs 2nd floor . I was in and out no more 30 minutes.
It's a good place, if need food,clothing, household items etc. I had one bad experience with an appointment setter but got fixed from kory which hes the best thanks so much for his help. This place is a miracle.
This was my experience going there. The people there were not helpful at all nor were they kind to me. Real vague on answers for my questions and concerns.

I am always made to feel very welcome by every person in the Action Center. Everywhere from the clothing, household items, books, and the food they are able to give me every month I couldn't begin to thank them enough. They go above and beyond to help you get through your tough time.
The work they do with the resources they have is phenomenal. Caring individuals with a passion for helping others.
Great place if you need help with clothes, groceries, essential items. Also have limited number of vouchers for specific things, ie the cost of getting an ID, drivers license, birth certificate, spay and neuter, vaccinations for pets, etc. Great people, there's also phones that you can use.
Been dontating to this place for a 3 years now and everytime the staff is super appreciative and helpful.
I donated a lot of stuff here and they were very friendly and told me how the donations will go to the public. The gentlemen told me that our homeless community make appointments and after qualifing they get whatever they need for free.

One of the most helpful places in Jeffco there is for people in need. They offer both a food and clothing bank plus hygiene products and household items. The volunteers are great!
They really go out their way to make sure you are taking care of, but remember to be prepared with a ride cause you can leave with alot of food, and other necessities as well.

I drove there today to drop off bags of clothing and after decided to do something I've never done before, go thru the drive up food line. I live on soc sec and a very part time job. Food prices have soared and I heard they have fresh produce. I was flabbergasted at the amount of food for me, just one person. FOUR boxes of fresh produce, veggies and fruit, a bag of apples, bag of onions, bag of plums, cantalope, frozen chicken, Italian sausage, 1/2 dz eggs, a gallon of Farmers milk, cereal, bread, box of canned goods and too much more I can't even remember. Oh and a box of chocolate donuts! AND a bouquet of sunflowers. I'm so overwhelmed and grateful.
They provide quantities according to the number in your household. Also the food will vary week to week.

These people are so amazing.. they can help no matter th situation, they will go beyond to help u figure something out.. just amazingly helpful, especially when ur at a loss.. help wit clothes, a job, phone calls, bus pass, food (whether its just for lunch or for Thanksgiving dinner) they help wit food stamps, GEDs, great referrals.. keep up the great job...

Great place for a lot of resources in the Jeffco area. Food bank is awesome as well as the clothing bank. They also helped with my utilities. Great people. You have to make an appointment. Easy access.
This last visit I was just picking up a friend, but for a couple of years I had been going there myself. The before and after remodel is hands down, way more efficient now.
Great option for services in jeffco. Seems inundated with donations and not sure if other organizations would benefit from some of their surplus.
