We loved Splashes. Food was excellent and service great. Our room was amazing over the waves. So close! And loud! ..all night the bed was meh, the carpet was meh, but all in we had fun. Oh and the massages were good.
Beautiful location, very nice rooms and great food. Fell asleep to the sound of the surf, watched dolphins swimming with the surfers. Meeting facilities were excellent and the staff extremely helpful.

We went to the restaurant inside Surf and Sand, Splashes. It was amazing. Awesome view, we sat on the lower deck and we were right on the water. We even saw a whale spout. The food was phenomenal, service was excellent.
The location of the hotel is amazing, right on the sand! The level of service and cleanliness of the hotel is exceptional too. Someone is constantly cleaning the common areas and all the staff are wearing masks. We enjoyed our stay tremendously and will definitely be back
I had a just OK experience here. I was not a guest at the hotel, but went looking to get a table overlooking the ocean, have a cocktail and relax while my husband and son went to Costco. We were visiting him from Seattleand our hotel was a few doors down. As I walked into the main entrance (didn't drive) i got attitude from the valet who stopped me to question about my intentions. When I explained what I wanted,, he told me to see the hostess at the outdoor tented area. Once there she didn't seem to want to seat me. I said I would wait and asked if I could sit on a nearby couch and be served. She said I would have to order food with my cocktail to stay. I've stayed and dined all over the world and have never received this kind of mandate at 3pm in the afternoon. Nevertheless, i complied. Watched people seated in front of me. Finally went up to her and was offered a table with a view as long as I was out by 5pm. I was later told by my waiter, I was served my first cocktail incorrectly on the rocks. Probably to have me drink up and leave. So...while the view and location is amazing, the service is with attitude and snobbery..and the food and drinks? Just ok and expensive just OK.
Sitting outside in January at night for dinner is cold .

I'll say, first, that the staff and the property itself were high quality. I was disenchanted by the fact that this hotel didn't have air conditioning in the room. I mean, I get it - you want to experience the ocean air and whatnot - but as I had to attend a business event, I was saddled with donning a suit. It was a bit sweaty. The linens were soft and the bedding was luxurious. The room was clean. For 400 bucks a night, though, I demand A/C.
This resort is a hidden gem with a magnificent view.

So I went to this beautiful hotel right on the beach 4 my birthday! They send wine and chocolates to your room on your special occasions, I was given a lovely peach Bellini from my waitress, even though I really don't drink, lol it was so sweet and I drank half of it because it was my birthday! This Resort has no bad views, honestly. Every balcony has comfortable chairs to sit and enjoy the ocean, it is so relaxing and peaceful! All the staff are so attentive and friendly and eager to help you with anything you need! I truly felt special here!

The service is exceptional. The room was just as expected. The pool and beach were amazing. It s about a mile from the main part of town, but we loved this because the beach was so much more private feeling and less crowded. We almost didn t book this place because of the lack of ac, but it turns out you totally don t need it- ocean breeze is nice and cool. Would definitely stay again.
Booked S&S as part of my honeymoon travelling across California. Extremely disappointed to find our room was right above the swimming pool, offering no privacy and rather loud music and chatter from guests below. Thanks to their wonderful and very helpful staff, they changed our room to something very private and relaxing. Would definitely return.

World class location. Easy check-in. Pleasant staff. Cool bar and restaurant on first floor...try the chicken nachos. Easy beach access. Spacious clean rooms that are well-appointed with free WiFi. Mini bar and large TV. Toilet shower area on the small side. Interesting for a hotel that prides itself on being green we had to run both sinks about 5 minutes to get hot water. Room decor could use an update...but room service breakfast was as quick as I have ever experienced...told would be about 25 minutes, arrived in under 15. Amazing for a Sunday morning at 10 a.m.
This is a great place for a wedding. One of the best in laguna beach. You can also stay in the rooms for the wedding and stay a few extra days and have a beach vacation. The pools a great spot for the family to relax afterwards. I thought it was a neat stop. However some of the rooms don't have air conditioning so you better put that into consideration. But so much better then going to 7 , for a vending machine wedding!

The worst customer service I have ever experienced!! Stephanie supervisor at the front desk is horrible, she gets a negative score for customer satisfaction! How in the USA is a hotel considered a 4 star resort when you do not have AIR CONDITIONING?! This place has a nice beach front property but seriously no AC?!

Exquisite oceanfront view from a fifth-floor balcony. Inside or out I was both mesmerized and relaxed by the sound of the wild sea below! Though my first love is for the panoramic view of the Pacific, the room itself was spacious and comforting when I wasn't enjoying the sea breezes sitting on the furnished balcony. Room service promptly brought outstanding cuisine from its resort restaurant "Splashes". The staff was exemplary and always pleasant. On-Resort services were popular, which means book spa services early. Tip: Slowly enjoy the "reveal" when you experience your oceanfront guest room for the first time!!
I visited the Surf and Sand to enjoy an acholic beverage or two as the sunset. The drinks and food were good the service was attentive. I look forward to returning.

While the exterior of the building is nothing special, the view of the ocean is nothing short of stunning. The French doors and private balcony are a real luxury, as well as a deep soaking tub. I don't know if it was the comfortable bed or the ocean air, but we all slept great. A beautiful pool and private beach complete the package. We stay here every time we come to Laguna Beach.
I stayed on the first floor of the main tower....the balcony was directly over the beach. During high tide the waves would actually be under the balcony. If you don't like the sound of the Ocean waves crashing on the beach especially when you are sleeping (very loud) they provide earplugs for those who don't enjoy it as much as I did! The price of the room was fare, though they definitely need to update their rooms. ( Maybe it was just the room I was in - Room # 218 ) The pocket doors were not the easiest to close as there was no knob or good finger hold to pull the door closed. One pocket door for the tub and sink area, and another for the shower and toilet area. Toilet and shower area was very small, not an ideal area for both. Good for just the toilet only! Counter above the mini-fridge was barely adequate for making coffee. Funny thing.... after I got into my room, I received a knock on the door by a staff member needing to check the inventory on the mini-bar from the last guests. Apparently It was not checked during the cleaning of the room before me. I was not very happy about that as I had just put my bags on the bed, and thought what else was missed.
I thought the over all room rating is a 2-1/2 to 3 stars, the view from the room and the balcony is 5 stars +.
One guest elevator was not working in the tower I stayed in, the whole time I was there, ( 3 days ) and the other one took so long that most of the time I just took the stairs....Good work out!.... Except I had a friend that was in a wheel chair....it got resolved as she took the freight elevator, when that was actually working! ..................Question for Management??? Why is the ADA ( American Disability Act ) rooms on the 9th floor instead of on the main level where the lobby is? So when your elevators are not working, your guests could still get to their room!!!!
They would obviously need the elevator to get to the restaurant, pool and bar though!......Still.......they could get to their room!
( No beach access for people in a wheel chair either, you should work on that! ) I am sure you would, if you were in that situation....
They compensated her by giving her a bottle of wine and massage in her room, which made her happy. They did get the freight elevator working just not the other one I spoke of. The bar has a great view of the Ocean as most areas on the property do, since the Hotel is directly on the beach.......The Staff......Front Desk, Valet, Bar Tenders, etc.... were awesome!...They love their jobs, as you can tell by talking to them.
I definitely would stay here again, but please update your rooms, fix those damn pocket doors, maintain those elevators, and provide better ADA accommodations..........

Could have had a better view right on the ocean. Kids complained about sound of waves as i loved it. Doors closed was quiet, but that is the ambience of the place. Pool area great service for food and drink. They have beach chairs and umbrellas for guests. Was really relaxed in the quaint little town but close to everything. For visitors expect to receive a bill for the toll roads when you get home as it is tough to avoid.

Be aware of this hotel double charged!we booked through priceline for two night stay in prepaid.When we checked in , the hotel said we only have one night . So we got checked in for one night, after that I called the priceline , priceline called the hotel to reclassify we have two night actually. After priceline called the hotel, the front desk called into our room said tmr we will be switched to a different room . The second day after we checked out, I found out the credit card we use for deposit got chargered by 513$ more !!! I called both hotel and pricrline this time .The hotel insist the second night is the direct transaction I have with hotel !!! Stay away!!!!

Our stay was great. We had one weekday night in the middle of December: Ocean/Beach view king room. We were right over the pool which is next to the ocean. Spectacular sunsets and views. You can hear the waves crashing on the shore (laguna beaches are mostly shore break) but closing the window muted the sound to a comfortable level. We felt if we visited on a summer or weekend day the noise from the pool visitors would become annoying, but it was minimal for our stay. The Staff was pleasant and friendly. The room and bed were very clean and comfortable. The hallway and stairwell leave much to be desired. Not dirty with trash but stained. Overall a great stay. And Selanne's steak tavern is across the street, where we went for an amazing dinner.
Splashes is the best place to celebrate special occasions and also to make any day a special occasion. Service is always excellent and their wonderful menu is prepared to perfection. Don't forget to order a handcrafted beverage. Any way you choose to celebrate, do it right at Splashes.
I love this place right on the water. Very comfortable and good food. I miss the upstairs piano bar they had a long time ago!
First time visiting in Laguna and was lucky to stay here to celebrate a dear friends wedding. First class resort and they took great care of us, especially when things didn't go to plan.

Room was very small especially the bathroom. The room was not swept, as soon as we entered we saw sand on the floor. The bathroom wall had what looked like mold on the ceiling, hair on shower wall and no bath rug. The bathroom also needed a new paint job. When getting more towels for our room they only want to give me 3 when there were 4 of us in the room and several of them were still dirty. However the hotel was in a good spot, just across from the beach.
Had the blackened swordfish sandwich with honey pistachio... Wow. It had so much flavor. The dressing was a really nice vinaigrette on the salad. The bread for the sandwich was toasted just right and added to the flavor.
We barely left the room!!! Its just so gorgeous you don't want to leave. Staff is sooo friendly, kind, and helpful. We literally sat on our patio all day and ordered room service. Then slept with the patio door wide open and listened to the waves all night. Its just magical.

WOW - absolutely wonderful staff here. The building may not be the newest, but the location, the views, and did I mention the staff. I have not had this level of attention at luxury brand hotels - very impressed. Only thing to be aware of is that you are right on the ocean, so the noise of the water breaking below you may keep light sleepers up at night.
Simply amazing. The entire facility is beautiful. Then you step out and see the views. The food is delectable and the service is outstanding. I look forward to returning again and again in the future.
The staff here was absolutely amazing. The hotel was nice and obviously the view was great but the friendliness and helpfulness of every single employee we interacted with the most memorable part of the trip. Thanks to the Front desk, splashes staff, and housekeeping - you guys helped my husband and I forget the stress of 2020 and enjoy our anniversary!

Beautiful location, great service, decent food, absolutely no accommodation for disabled guests. Even getting to the lobby required going up a few steps. Guests who used crutches or wheelchairs had to be carried up stairs.
Beautiful location rooms over look other Beach, and great service. Cost is $$$ but worth it and better is you book a month or more in advance depending on the time of year.
NOT WORTH THE PRICE AT ALL. If it was $50 a night instead of $500 I could accept but not worth the $ at all. so many rooms with just a small restaurant, small pool and very small Jacuzzi full of small children it is NOT a place to relax and enjoy......................Saff are good
