Beautiful hotel! Great views from all the rooms, clean, amazing location.
The restaurant is slower than usual. But overall experience is great.
I've been trying to contact the hotel but can't get an answer. They charged me more than what the receipt stated. Our room didn't have a remote so we called the front desk who said they would bring one. No one came. I didn't like that you have to pay additional for parking. Other than that, I enjoyed my stay. The resort fee includes bikes. The bed was soft and the room was super clean.
Great hotel. Great employee/ customer service. Will definitely be back
Very bad hotel not worth it at front desk they are too arrogant and I was asked for a deposit of 150$ a night additional which was not in my confirmation ....make sure you ask everything before you book or there are so many better options in south beach better hotels.
It is next to beach and walking areas, as well as to famous Ocean drive. So, the location is premium. The rooms are good, but the early check in was a challenge, so be ready if you want to check in early.
In the room, be extra careful for mini-bar and water. A simple 1L bottle will cost you 11 dollars. Also, I found the restaurant of the hotel super expensive for the food and lay out given.
Incredible service and amenities at the hotel. Dont know why there is an automatic 18% service charge for everything you order, but i guess that's south beach.
Hated this place. Overpriced trash. Rooms look like sketchy Mexican hotel rooms. Service was awful. I paid $50 USD for two basic cocktails at the crowded bar by the pool. Will never go back here.
Our time spent at the Royal Palm South Beach was fantastic. We came here for part of our honeymoon, and the hotel was kind enough to buy us some champagne. The room was fantastic, spacious, and the pool was warm and well kept. The beachfront was also great. My only complaint was that they really try to price gouge you for towels and umbrellas at the beach. I would absolutely recommend coming here on your next trip to miami Beach.
Great Hotel. If youre looking for a hotel with beach access and great pool setting, this hotel is a decent choice. It may not be the most updated hotel but its functional. Found a great deal and this is why we booked it. Location was great. TIP - Just a heads up they do add 18% Gratuity to your bar/food service regardless of party size.
Really friendly staff, however not the cleanest place ever
Overall, I had a very good experience with the Royal Palm. Not much to complain about- the rooms were cleaned daily and the staff was very friendly, responding to any needs we had efficiently. Their check-in and check-out process is pretty slow and can get kind of irritating if you've been traveling all day. However, the facility is clean and maintained very well. The people at the front desk and the concierge are very knowledgeable and nice. Their elevator broke briefly, but was fixed within an hour. I would definitely stay here again in the future while visiting South Beach.
Cute hotel... stayed there before my move to florida.
Rooms look just like picture on site. Very nice and clean besides the smell in the room the oder I could tell they allowed pets. Wasn't a pleasant smell that's the only reason I didn't give 5 star. The cookery had amazing food order two burgers and two spirits was about $110 so kinda pricey. But when on vacation you enjoy yourself the pool on deck and also ground pool was nice and clean. The ocean front with umbrellas with bar service was also nice and relaxing. Exclude two loungers and two beach towels umbrellas was an additional fee $19 Definitely will stay here again!
Very nice hotel, well located in Miami Beach; Nice staff. Pool a bit small. The cocktails at the hotel are expensive and have more taste of lemonade !!!
For what they charge per room you dont get what you pay for. Dirty rooms with minimum room cleaning, The towels smells bad and also they have a separate fee for towels and beach chairs that you have to pay everyday. The entrance to the hotel smells very bad, i think they use some kind of airfreshner.. And they also treat their customers diffrently. They apperently got vip customers that is treated in another way, wich feels discriminating to a ordinary tourist customer like me.
The upside with this hotel is that you have a good view and really close to The beach. But everything is close to The beach in South beach... So once again, The price of $180-200 per night is not justified. Also their pictures of The hotel and rooms are misleading.. From outside this hotel looks like it was still stuck in The 80s and need a litle face lift. The rooms as I mentioned is dirty and also you can hear your neighbor breath, actually you can hear all they do. Some sound isolation would be good...
Otherwise i had a good stay The Staff is friendly.
Exceptional position 10 votes ... you are in the heart of the South Beach next to the most important streets .. pleasant rooms even if a little dated and with little maintenance .. staff a bit cold and not very welcoming .. cute beach boys and very kind ... surely the position is its strong point for the rest too high prices for what is the structure ...
Nice hotel, reasonably priced for the beach. Sink stopper didn't work (stuck down so sink filled and couldn't be retrieved) and housekeeping could remember to give a couple of regular coffees for couples, rather than just decaf. Otherwise, a good overnight.
Good location and good service but they charge a lot, even for umbrella s in the beach and around pool too!Very pricy!
It's a very very nice hotel I have a beautiful huge fish tank at the entrance
I was in town on business for a few days and this hotel has a FANTASTIC location in South Beach. There is a nice, private pool area that leads right to the beach where they have chairs and food & beverage service available. Everything I needed.
Very attentive staff, and fabulous location. The building has adopted an updated 60s look, which reflects both when the property was built and recent upgrades.
The property is not busy at night, so don't expect a bar scene.
For the most part this hotel was how it looks in the photos. There were a couple of things most outstanding. It is true that when you leave from their pool area you are walking directly onto the beach the pool area is very nice and they have a hot tub that actually gets hot the two things mostly that I do not like about the hotel is that they do not have a shuttle to get you to and from the airport or hotel rooms bathroom doors had paint thrown on them which someone didn't cover when they we're painting.
The wood that they use for the sink needs to be replaced also the bathroom doors do need to be replace.
The glass door leading to the balcony however most of the letters were missing so you really can't tell what they were saying to be cautious of. The cups dish trays did they give you for the bathroom were. Plastic the wash bottles which was a nice gesture in the showers were dirty and unclean and they also do not leave you enough towels.
I'll post more pictures later
The lobby is really nice and the staff super friendly and helpful unfortunately the rooms are not worth the price! But hey it s south beach
Good hotel in the heart of Miami South Beach. I think staff is overworked and they are short staffed in some crucial areas.
Phenomenal location with spectacular views! My family and I stayed here for a weekend and had no complaints. The guest services were amazing. We had great food with exceptional service from our server Sylvia. The crab and mango salad is a must have! My family and I enjoyed many tourist activities right here in South Beach with the help from the local advisor at the front lobby. We celebrated my wife s birthday on our last day of our stay on the beautiful beach! The staff was awesome and were so happy to hear we could have food service right on the beach! Our server, Victoria was wonderful. She was very informative and made sure we were well taken care of on our last day of our stay and made sure my wife had an amazing birthday. We will definitely be back to this location! We highly recommend the experience at the Royal Palm.
We booked a standard room at Royal Palm the weekend of the BET Hip Hop Awards. The hotel lobby, eatery, and pool areas capture the essence of South Beach. Unfortunately when entering the room, the adrenalin rush was quickly interrupted with the famous you lost melody of dum dum du duuum from the Price is Right. These rooms need major upgrades including the bathrooms; sinks, toilets, and all! The blue paint tries hard to seize that sandy beach feel; but the outdated fixtures, rugs, and furniture fall short. I gave Royal Palms three stars for the professionalism of the staff; specifically the guy at the front desk who assisted us with everything you could think of. We also ate at the Grove (their poolside restaurant) and the food and drinks were very good, so you get another star for that. Upgrade your rooms Royal Palm and you ll make us very happy when your rooms match your rates!
Stayed here over the weekend and had a great experience. Room was clean, modern and spacious. Plenty of extras included such as beach chairs, towels, and even a bike rental. The valet service was quick and prompt. Great experience.
Amazing location and property is in great shape. Highly recommend!
Ripped me off over 100 in fees and the person who replied to my email was rude not admitting the mistakes. Very basic hotel not comparable to the Z Ocean next door. They also charge 1970's charges for phone service... LIKE WHO USES THAT. Resort Fees.
Hotel staff was great! Friendly and attentive. Will stay here again
We was here in 2017 it was so great! And come back in August 2020 still for one night. Need remodeling!!!! Cleaning is not good..... there were many different problems.
I don't want to stop here anymore
This is the best beach resort my family has ever been to. The staff is so friendly, everyone was smiling, and was very helpful. I would have to say that the Royal Palm got a perfect 10.
Starting off with the good: The hotel is beautiful. Beds are comfortable, the staff is very friendly, and there is nothing like being able to get up in the morning and walk straight from the back of the hotel to the beach. However, there are a few charges that I had to pay once I arrived at the hotel that I was not aware I would be paying when I booked the vacation (you have to pay to be able to use the pool? What?). A nice hotel, but definitely overpriced, just like everything else in South Beach.
Great hotel in South Beach with a convenient Collins Avenue address and close location to Ocean Drive. Stayed in a beautiful room with a fantastic view of the ocean and small balcony. Staff was attentive and friendly. Nice hotel!
This is a scam , such a Jocke I payed for 4 nigh online and when I got in to the hotel they said it was another mandatory fees of 33$ for every night for the resort and then you have to pay for the parking and it s a shity hotel , not recommended
Liked the overall concept of the room. Though -bathroom faucet was loose/ not in place, no hot water. Shower hot water was sporadic. Sliding bathroom door would not stay in place. Also should scrap the Happy Hour promotion, since the bartenders don t believe in it.
Cool and relaxing place. Family friendly but mostly adults.
Superb service, great location, very nice accomodations. I stayed in the Lanai section, which was nice and stylish with quicker access to the pool and beach areas.
We had a corporate meeting here and they were extremely helpful and attentive. Really good experience.
Nice rooms, fairly small, considering we got an upgrade. Can't say much about the property since it was under construction. SPG drink coupons work on top shelf liquor = a big plus!
The Royal Palm is a beautiful hotel, the staff is friendly and courteous, and the rooms are beautiful. We stayed for 6 nights and were treated well each night.
The room we had gave us a nice view of the ocean and we could see down Collins Avenue and towards Biscayne Bay as well. Our room was nicely decorated and very clean, the cleaning staff was excellent and took care of us each day. Our room could have used an extra hook or two in the bathroom to hang wet bathing suits/towels. We liked the blend of modern and art deco influence in the decor.
We used the valet for our car and it was ready a few minutes after we scanned our claim check, the valet were friendly and courteous.
The pool was beautiful and the bar staff was friendly. There were usually plenty of towels available at both the pool and the beach. We rented chairs and umbrellas at the beach and it was the best decision that we made. The resort fee includes the chairs but the umbrellas are extra; but worth it in the Miami sun! The beach staff is friendly.
We did not eat at the hotel, we made other plans but it looked good.
Warm, comfortable environment, excellent and helpful staff with good service and clean rooms.
Great scency, location, anything you need its walking distance..
Good, but not great. But the fire alarm test on various mornings, roach in the bathroom, non-responsive service, and billing issues will make it so I will go elsewhere for my next South Beach visit.
One of the best places to stay at the South Beach. A room with a balcony and a nice view. Pool and bar downstairs. Windy at night. The local craft beer is good, but people mostly drink Margaritas and Mojitos.
Awesome place. Right on Collins ave, minute to the beach and all restaurants on the ocean drive. Best service, best in all ...I just love it.
Have status with Marriott but felt like a Southwest flight! Have been waiting for 2 hours for room! Tried to get a drink and they kept waiting on the cute young Hispanic girls!! Horrible service and amenities are dirty!! Pools small!!! Cadillac up street treated me like a princess! The only positive I can say is they refunded money so I could stay at another hotel
Ok. So my boyfriend is a Marriott top tier. We've been a lot of places. The reviews here intrigued me because of the 5 and 1 stars. Here's the deal...
It's an old building (like all on SoBe). Don't expect a modern layout. It has character, but also "after market" add ons for power and baths.
Staff is fine. If someone had a bad experience and rated low, ok. We didn't - we had a great experience.
There will be sand, at least some, in the room. It's Miami Beach! People use their resort fee to enjoy the beach.
Bar and restaurant hours vary. Assume 10pm is closing. No matter what the website says.
The major plus is that it is dead center of the action in SoBe. Top of Ocean Dr., can walk to Lincoln Rd, or even Fountainebleau.
Great Pizza joints and food in walking distance open midnight to 5am.
Known for relaxing vibe and great service, The Royal Palm South Beach Miami did provide me with an enjoyable vacation experience after a meeting in Tampa. Upon my arrival, I was greeted by the courteous front desk associate, Victovia, at the hotel s Art Deco-styled lobby and got a Platinum upgrade to the Superior Suite, which had a separate and cozy sitting area near the entrance of the suite, with wonderful partial ocean view and city view.
My reservation was booked directly via Starwood s reservations website, which included complimentary beach chairs and welcome drink/fruit baskets on daily basis. The manager from the hotel s beach service desk, Chase, was very friendly, helpful and responsive to my requests.
Location wise, it is very convenient the hotel is located on 15th Street, which is just north of the prominent Ocean Drive.
My only complaint is that during my stay at The Royal Palm South Beach, as the hotel had just been acquired by Starwood Hotels, the housekeeping department did not have any slippers available, and all the bath towels were quite thin and not in an ideal condition, with some towels that still had the old James Royal Palm labels on the towels being only partially removed.
The staff was great I injured my ankle on their premises and everyone was very attentive. They do need to label there steps in the main lobby West a different color or watch your step sign.
Great hotel in an amazing location. Walking distance from South Beach's restaurants and Lincoln rd. Will return again in the future.
Not only is the location & price ideal, the hotel was recently updated & looks great. The staff is friendly & the rooms & amenities are all you would ever need. I will stay there again if I'm visiting Miami.
The location is at the beginning of the Art Deco Historical Area so EVERYTHING is walking distance. There's direct beach access which was a huge selling point.
Never tried the restaurants but are at the bar a few times. Service there was ok, friendly but didn't wow me but the food was excellent as were the drinks.
We really enjoyed our stay!
Horrible!!!
Very very noisy. Work was being done in the neighboring rooms, and it was impossible to sleep a night !!!!!!
The staff offered me earplugs! But can't change my room because the hotel is full but when you look at the comments everyone complains that you can't sleep in this hotel, I was on the verge of paying for another room in another hotel in the middle of the night in addition to mine ...
Bad bedding, poor quality.
Bad room service.
This hotel had the softest feather/memory foam pillows ever. The restaurant on site was a bit pricey but convenient. I had the grilled chicken ceasar salad and a Miami Vice drink. I give it 2 thumbs up.
Great hotel actually on the beach, no roads to cross, 50 feet away from the pool. Good bar pool. Rooms are modern but views can be either great or looking at a concrete wall. Now part of the SPG/Marriott brand.
Great palce for spending your vaca on Miami South beach. Great friendly staff, good service, great location....pay more attention for your final bill.
Hotel is nice and clean a lot of younger people at the hotel and much closer to everything then expected
I loved my stay . The African security guard two times in the last two summers have been rude and asking for my room key. I will call corporate
Awesome hotel on the beach, boardwalk right behind the hotel, cool hot tub and nice breakfast restaurant. Most rooms have a small patio and are like mini suites.
Awesome Hotel everything you need in one place! Thank you for your hospitality we will be back
Horrible service. Currently staying here. The tv in my room was turning on and off all night. I asked about it yesterday and they said someone would fix it. No one did. I asked 4 times total and they kept saying it would get fixed. We got back to the room at midnight and it was still blinking so I called and they sent someone up and he was rude and making fun of me and grabbed my chin at one point. I am about to complain to corporate about this.
Also the bathroom was dirty and I asked for it to be cleaned and it still hasn t. We asked for plates to be sent up to our room and never got them and they charge you $50 for a mini fridge! Most nice hotels I have stayed at just have those in the room already. It s so small too it barley fits anything.
I m really disappointed in this place it could be nice but no one cares about the guests. I am looking at other hotels for the remainder of my trip.
Never staying at another Marriott again.
It is the third time we stay here but this time also the last one ... We have not slept all night because in the next room at 4.30 they started putting music at full volume and talking with a sustained voice until 6.30am. All this happened without anyone intervening, seeing that on the plane but not only one could feel the chaos.
Our stay in this hotel was wonderful. We woke up with a view of the sea from our bedroom window. A spacious room with tea and coffee available. Really all wonderful.
We had booked the hotel several months in advance. Upon arrival, the hotels lobby was overrun with people trying to check in and check out without any sort of effort on the behalf of staff to manage the otherwise chaotic situation. We were also informed by an angered patron that was trying to check out that the entire hotel was under a massive renovation. The pool, which was half of the reason we booked our stay there was shut down. In fact, most of the outdoor space was blocked off and inaccessible which really disappointed us. The beach access was nice and the beach staff were friendly and helpful. Overall the hotel seems like it will be great once construction is done. We just wish they didn't mislead us when we originally booked it. If we knew the pool and half of the hotel was blocked off we would have stayed elsewhere.
Great location. Great value. Walkable to everywhere you want to be on the beach.
Great area and location, the rooms are small, clean but a little dated. Not like the Ritz, even though the price was closer.
Staff is professional, Rooms are cleaned. Hotel is in a perfect location on Collins Avenue
Excellent Hotel with an art deco decoration and decorated in the best style of the 40 and 50, very good care and cleanliness. The girls in the cafeteria and the restaurant are friendly and attentive, the only drawback and of which you have to be careful if you stay there, is the coffee machine and the mini-bar. It is preferable to leave it like this and take what you want by paying cash or card at the bar. If you happen to consume something you can find an unpleasant surprise at the time of checkout.- The pool and the beach service are also excellent.-
Beautiful sophisticated hotel with lots of amenities. They offer free two hour bike rental, free water Zumba daily at the pool. There is access to the beach and free beach chaises with umbrella. Free beach towels and polite way come around with complimentary bottles of water. It was a very pretty setting with modern spacious rooms. The only negative thing was that our room was cleaned VERY late, but it was probably one of the busiest checkout days of the year (Sunday after New Year's day many people's last day of Christmas vacation). I would definitely come back again.
Excellent customer service! Great location, lots of amenities and beautiful suites! Highly recommend!
The newly renovated "The James Royal Palm Hotel" on Miami beach is top notch! The rooms are greatly space and have great amenities. It also has a small fridge with just about anything you could want in drinks and snacks. The shared spaces in the lobby are lavishing and comfortable. The restaurant is pricey but delicious. The pools are average (the only down side) but the Jacuzzi was different and all had handicap accessibility +++. The best think is the service. Nothing comes close to the preparation, attention to details and friendliness. Everyone in the hotel's service is willing to assist in anything you need or want. Sometimes is feel as if they don't have it they'll find it or a solution. Over all experience is A+++. You get what you pay for!
Great pool area for the kids, small but useful gym.
Did not clean rooms well. Front desk a little surly at times. The better staff were awesome and hospitable. Could do with better music at pool.
