Horrible experience. On the second day my purse with clothes was stolen.then on the third day my $300 speaker was also stolen in the pool area. The hotel staff was not helpful at all. The security didn't even play back the cameras. What are cameras for if they are not being used for the security. If you go to this hotel get prepared to get stolen.

This hotel is by far the worst one I've stayed in. I waited 2.5 hours to be checked into my room when check in was at 4pm. Firstly, this hotel has the latest check in I've ever experienced. It really takes housekeeping 4+ hours to get all the rooms "clean"? And on top of that, how do you still not have the room ready after 4pm? I booked 1 king bed for 1 night and was given a room with two double beds. But it gets better, the first room with the double beds had MOLD all over the ceiling. After complaining, we were switched to a king bed suite which they noted as an "upgrade" even though a king bed suite is what I originally booked for. Within 10 minutes of being in our new room, a worker took it upon herself to just enter our room with her key and didn't realize guests were staying here. The second room we were moved to also had mold all over the ceiling, however it was just painted over to try and cover up. The sink came apart when we tried to turn on the water and the shower only had luke warm water. Our luggage was lost for 2 hours and we had to sit in our room with wet swimsuits waiting on our luggage to arrive. We could not shower because we had no clothes and we were not given the WiFi code. The hotel itself was dated and it is noticeable that they have not kept up to date with renovations and health inspections. They also don't mention that there is a $250 incidental hold, $45 valet, $50 amenities fee, etc. I would suggest the motel 6 in Florida City over this hotel.

my experience was Ok here.. good service, but rooms are bit congested and toilets door cant be locked.. u will get beach chairs only from 11 am to 4 pm.. the entrance and exit to resort in bit inside so not easily visible from main street.

We got the ocean view room. It was the best experience ever! The ocean view is astounding no matter it's sunrise or sunset! Only bad thing was the food, they were so bad and pricey. Try not to eat in the hotel.

This is a nice hotel that is pretty friendly. Great location with access to the beach and two swimming pools. The staff is friendly. Rooms are very spacious after spending a week in a cruise cabin. Only down side is check in seems late. We had a dog in the room next to us that seemed to bark forever.

We were moved rooms, had my toiletries bag stolen. Contacted the front desk for 3 straight days and over 8 hours. No one from the hotel, including the manager helped in any way. Every time we had to speak to a new person (7 different people) no one had any clue what was going on and even the manager did NOTHING to help. Under no circumstance would I ever recommend this hotel to anyone!!! Save your money, save your time, save a headache and go to a Hilton Hotel!!!!!!!! The customer service is night and day different at a Hilton!!
We travel every other week and have stayed at multiple hotel chains. This was by far and away one of, if not the worst experiences we ve ever had and a terrible hotel!!! The staff will not take initiative and will not follow through!! You will he pushed off until you leave and told that you will be helped and there will be 100% NO FOLLOW THROUGH!!!!
So many other options in South Beach. Go ANYWHERE else!!

completely incompetent - nothing in this place functions from the bar to the beach. we walked in friday and after waiting 25 minutes for appetizers our staff came back and stated the new menu had not come into play - yet that is what they gave us. no comp and explanation. The next day we waited on the beach for over an hour for a drink. As a gold member of Marriot we were not granted any kind of late check out though the place is half empty. I use to live in Miami and can easily say that out of all my experiences this is the worst here.

Nice room, spacious and comfortable. The deco of luck is good. By cons it is a hotel that ages a little, including some common (hallway, elevator, pool).
The breakfast is good.
Service varies depending on who you are falling

NOT GOOD.

NOT GOOD.

Free breakfast gave me horrible sickness.

Could not check in until 2 hrs after normal late check in at 4pm Who has a 4 pm check in? And mangers treated employees badly. Very embarrassed for this place and all the other Groupon hotels .

Pro tip- plan meals way ahead. I could not believe the large amount of badly run hotels in this neighborhood. We loved the beach access but the bad service and food did not make up for me.

The Royal Palm went above and beyond our expectations. We came to South Beach for my 30th birthday, a short 5 day getaway. The place we original booked was inhabitable and we rushed to find a new location. Thank goodness we came across such a great hotel.

When we checked in we received a breakfast voucher for the next morning as a small birthday token. The staff was extremely friendly and made us feel very welcomed. We had a king size bed in our room, it was nice except our room at had an odor of cat pee in the bathroom. We sprayed Febreeze and if they could have house keeping come up while we went out for dinner. The next day a tropical storm hit South Beach and we were stuck inside for most the day. We ended up complaining about the smell in the room again because it started to bother my companion's throat. The hotel didn't have any rooms available until Sunday night. To compensated our inconvenience the hotel provided us with a $75 food and drink credit, breakfast vouchers for the rest of our stay, and upgraded us to a suite.

The concierge always sent us to the best spots and also give us free entries to a few of the local hot spots. We loved the pool and free bike rental. The best part about the hotel is the location, it has an amazing view and right on the beach front. This will definitely be our go to spot whenever we go to visit South Beach.

2nd stay here. Very clean, friendly staff. Pringles container was open which we didn't eat, brought it to the attention of the front desk. $150 holding fee is still not cleared from cc one week later and was told it could take up to 30 days this time, last time it was 3 days. Pool is nice, prices at the bar are insane but lots of places close by that can work just as well. We also tried the 75 min massage, very good massage therapists. An overall nice stay but will opt for somewhere else next time, uncleared fees not sitting well with me.

Just a great hotel! Rooms were very clean. You could go out the back of the pool to get to the beach. The towels are always clean and we were provided for free. Very clean beach and the staff were very nice.
I would recommend this hotel to anyone who likes clean rooms and likes to go to beach especially in Miami Beach.
Shopping area was not far either.

Ok

Checked in at 11 am and checked our luggage since a room wasn't available. A person that we knew who checked in the same time received bottled water and key to pool and beach while they waited for a room. We got nothing. There are two people that work the check in desk so always a long line. Even though we requested a 12:30 pm check in we had to wait 5 hours for a room even though they kept saying a few more minutes and then they couldn't find our luggage. Staying in the west tower and elevators smell like urine. We were given a beach view room which means you're by the street but can see a small section of beach through the buildings. Our room is sandwiched between housekeeping supply room, elevators and electrical maintenance closet, and ice machine. There is constant noise and yelling. Also asked for foam pillows but only received one. The room floors always have sand on them and mattress is cheap and no comfortable place to sit in the room. They did put a mini fridge in the room after I asked them not to charge me for putting my grapes in the mini bar fridge. My husband has status with Marriott since he travels a lot but it doesn't mean anything here. Would not recommend this hotel.

Stay: April 2019
Price: $ 500 / night
2nd visit to this hotel
Strong points: very well located, beautiful beach, the lobby is very well appointed. The view from my room was very impressive

Weak points: we pay 37 $ us / day extra without any real profit. Does it pay for wifi? At $ 500 / night I hope I have wifi in 2019. Otherwise the room had several small unrepaired breaks. No corkscrew. Fridge with weight detectors preventing cold stuff from being put in it, apart from harming customers, this type of fridge is of no use. The cleaning of the bathroom was very rude. Counter still room, wet washcloths not picked up, hand soap not replaced. The hotel is not green, no recycling bin, lots of plastic and disposable stuff.

This hotel would benefit from offering little extras that set them apart from a low-end hotel.

Prices are already ridiculous for what you get. Then they tack on a resort fee whether you use the service or not it s ABSURD!!!! Room was nice but we can get the same room at the Marriott for much less. I guess you re paying to be close to the water. If you don t mind a 7 minute drive go to the Marriott at Biscayne Bay instead.

The Royal Palm looks nice from the outside, and the lobby is nice. However, the rooms could be taken care of MUCH better. There was dog food left in the fridge from the previous person, the bedding was unchanged when we entered the room for the first time, and we got no refill of coffee for the whole week. The shower water pressure was low, as well as the floor in the shower was gritty. The breakfast buffett is okay, but the beach food sevice was awful! My family got nothing they ordered. The location is okay, the pool is okay, but this hotel just deserves an over all 2 stars.

Arroyo in the Grove restaurant was amazing. Oz and Jesus on the beach were amazing. Gabby by the pool was amazing. The best service at a hotel we have ever had. Rooms are good for the price and the food and drinks at the resort were amazing. Never had a bad experience during our 5 day stay.

Maid service could be more detailed, if you were to force me to complain. But when we called the front desk they sent someone up immediately to fix the issue.

This is a nice boutique hotel. The staff is friendly. The rooms are uniquely decorates. The hotel has a private beach and you can rent chairs and cabanas. The hotel is also located in a great location off Collins. Its walking distance to ocean ave and all the stores.

Loved the hotel! Service was fantastic and the room was clean and beautiful! Couldn't give it 5 stars because we waited 3 hours after check in time for our room to be ready and they kept telling us "just a few more minutes" so we waited in the hotel wasting several hours we could've been enjoying the pool, the beach or exploring the city.

July 16-19, 2015. We normally stay at the Fontainebleau when we go to Miami, but we wanted to stay closer to the action and save on cab fare, so we chose the Royal Palm. We did not have an ocean view but a view of the street. We stayed in a studio that was very modern. I like the layout, the bed was super comfy, but I didn t like the sliding bathroom door because it didn t always close all the way. The room had a lot of scrapes and damages from previous stays that you normally don't see in nice hotels. Because we were on the front of the hotel, it was very dark during the day which I did not like. I reported that the light over the bar was out but no one ever came to fix it. Every day we woke up to a wonderful continental breakfast that was included in our room; It was absolutely delicious! The resort is very nice but not as nice as the Fontainebleau. The main issue that I have with our stay was the fact that our room was not clean. The floor was never swept, the rug in our room was never vacuumed and the bathroom half cleaned and it was not because we didn't ask for it to be cleaned. The cleaning staff at this hotel is horrible and if they don't get it together, they will start to loose customers. With the price that you pay to stay at the resort, this was very disturbing and disappointing.

Long wait time to check in...it took 30 mins to stand up and out of 5 check in desks only 3 were being used. Asked for two extra towels and it tool 2+ hours to provide them. Over all good facility but I guess they have less staff who just can't meet up the needs of busy season. SPG group could do better.

DO NOT COME HERE!!!!!! I made a reservation 2weeks in advance for an Ocean view and when I got there they said they upgraded me to city view because they didn t have any ocean view and when I asked for discount they said they can t give me any and that I was getting upgraded even though I paid extra for Ocean view this place is a scam the second I got there they demanded I give them their keys are they going to charge $45 a day for parking the valet parking was very rude and the front desk was very rude they tried charging me for a cup of ice and they charge for $5 dollars for a water bottle this place is the biggest ripoff ever

This was our 2nd time staying at this hotel this year. Check in / out is easy. Hotel is clean / rooms are clean (even though they did not have daily housekeeping (covid) the ladies on our floor were quick to get us extra towels / toilet paper ect.. However, the real service comes from the guys working at the beach! Alam, Kervin, Chase and the others! Top notch. Down to earth and hardworking! We can't wait to order our buckets of seltzer or champagne soon! If you are looking for a clean low key hotel with great staff book this hotel.

Great rooms and atmosphere. They do charge an incidentals fee upfront and there are resort fees for certain items but overall for the value of the hotel, its minor just something to consider when budgeting. My husband and I came for a getaway and we would certainly stay again.

I stayed 6 nights in this hotel in mid-August and the chaos was sovereign. Insufficient cleanliness and unmotivated and often unprepared staff. You pay for anything including the use of the refrigerator in the room (I was asked for a $ 30 surcharge to put a juice and a yogurt in the fridge of the room). Even the television is paid. You pay 30 $ per day (mandatory) for a fictitious Resort treatment for access to the pool and the sea including towels and wifi (on the site they say it's free but instead is part of the paid package) In short, a lack of absolute transparency in the information to customers on the real costs to be incurred and also the reception staff are careful not to give correct information. I stayed at other hotels in the Marriott chain in the USA but such a thing had never happened to me.

So far, so awesome! Just arrived and the experience has been fantastic from the great valet service outside to the check-in and then up to the room overlooking the ocean and the sand where we are headed now! Fantastic Art Deco in the room and in the halls and in the understated but wow Lobby downstairs. Very pleased with the amenities from a safe in the closet two slippers water coffee and the offer by the check-in desk to send up a little mini fridge without our even asking because he saw that we had some beverages in our pile of luggage. Very great service so far can't wait to see what's next!

Great service!!! Especially when we called the lobby to tell them the air wasn t working properly so they sent the hotel engineer named Rafael and he solved the problem right away. At first we got lost when finding the dinning room, but Rafael helped us and took us there. I would recommend this hotel to everyone, the service was excellent and all the staff members are always trying to help make your stay one of the best!!!!

I asked for a quiet room.

I asked for a quiet room.

I had checked out of another hotel because it was too loud. The front desk thoughtfully found me a quiet room. Front desk was helpful.

There were random hairs on some bath towels and the sofa cushions. The body lotion looked old and used. The maid service needs to improve. They dropped this review to 4 stars.

If you're in South Beach and want a nice place under $400 / night, this is still a great place, despite the maid service issue.

I reserved for a lovely birthday weekend by the beach. I got a two bedroom apartment. I called about 4 days before arrival to request a two bedroom apartment with balcony. When I called, I chose the sales option and the lady that assisted me took my reservation number and told me there would be no problem. When I arrived to the hotel, I was told there is no such thing as a two bedroom apartment with balcony..... the checkout counter only had TWO representatives. Therefore I had to stand in line for about 10 mins waiting for the other guests to be assisted. The rooms are somewhat dated, which I expected from the reviews and I understand buildings are on the older side. What I did NOT like was that the facilities in the lobby were very unkept and needing maintenance (MINOR STUFF that should be done immediately) To begin, the lobby bathroom was dark, no paper and holes on the wall. The pool was lovely, but the mural wall was peeling, which I found unacceptable since it s just paint and it s such a frequented hang out area. Pool service was very slow, specially drinks. Not the bar s fault but server. Frozen drinks were served 1/2 liquified. Should have gotten them straight from the bar.
Overall the visit was great, I loved the water zumba class in the pool and the DJ after.

This place was lovely and surprisingly, affordable! We opted for the ocean view room and I'm glad we did. We were on High floor and it was nice to relax on the little balcony with drinks at night and listen to the music and waves below. Comfy beds, clean amenities, friendly staff. Highly recommend this place :)

I only did a 4 rating because the pool was a little small and became shaded from other hotels around 3pm, plus the drinks at the pool were under poured and over priced (to be expected all over South Beach though).

Hotel rooms with scent of chlorine. 2 pairs of headphones were stolen from my room. 2 stars just for location and being on the beach. The fact that they tried to waste our time with a lie about a welcome gift which was actually them trying to sell us tourist activities right after check-in was very off putting. No need to deceive, may have worked better with some honesty as we actually did purchase some, but for your irritation, we went next door.

The manager Kimberly was very accommodating after a bad experience at the Lexington down the road. The room was gorgeous and staff was very friendly. Everyone made my service dog very comfortable and well accepted. (Parking and drinks were kind of high but I would stay here again) Thank you!!

Hotel looks old inside, wouldn t consider this a 4 star hotel. Rooms need some updating. No refrigerators in hotel room which is extremely inconvenient for the price you pay per night and if you re staying with a child. Concierge informed me I could rent a fridge for an additional $50!!! No thanks. Nice outdoor lounging/ pool area

The Royal Palm will require a deposit.
Two of them. 250+150. The 150 they don't tell you so pay attention to your bank account. And the 150 was processing over a week. I called several times and they mentioned it would be refunded when we check out but it took them over a week!! The valet parking was 45 plus tax a day. The hallway near the restaurant had a mildew smell and we stayed in a suite on the 17th floor that was dusty and the floor had not been mopped we had to request the room to be cleaned. With Covid we need a room that is cleaned thoroughly prior to arrival!

We had an amazing time staying at the Royal Palm. Staff was really kind, helpful, and accommodating. The room was great, clean, and the bed was comfortable. The food was really really delicious from the bar especially the dry rub wings. We would stay here again and highly recommend this hotel for your stay.

Great location. Nice Staff. Cleaning was sub par. Policy is to turn down rooms after 3rd day. We requested the service on the 2nd day, they said they would but never did.

Elevators were nasty.

Nice beach. Free bikes to ride around. Pools were okay.

This isn t a four star hotel. The staff is friendly but you can t call it a four star for that alone.

We came here for President s Day weekend. We paid about $350 for a room and you don t get what you paid for in this hotel.

The rooms are run down. Ours didn t even have a chair. Just a bed and a tv. The housekeeping was often late, like 5 pm late. They did do an amazing job.

It is family friendly, but the pool isn t for toddlers. We did like that they put toys out on the sand for the kids at the beach.

The pool is heated and salted which is nice. The jacuzzi is nice. I can t say anything about the food.

They had Zumba and yoga everyday which was nice. The gym was decent.

A big plus: the hotel was quiet at night. If there was a party nearby, we didn t hear it. And that s a plus for a family with a baby and toddler.

The worst part your resort fee only paid for chairs. Not umbrellas. One umbrella costs $22 a day. That s pathetic.

Overall, this was a three star hotel. I d spend the extra change to stay at the Loews, where you get true four star hotel service and quality. If you want to save money, Royal Palms is fine.

I've been here 2 nights on vacation with friends. My friend is an elite member, she wanted to charge breakfast to the room for us & the manager from the buffet explained to us that the manager at the front desk said they wouldn't allow us to charge anything to the room. We've charged stuff to the room since we've been here. After a visit to the front desk they went ahead & charged it. The managers and staff were so rude, especially raechel.

This hotel is gorgeous and in a prime location but they could be better.
They charge enough for their rooms (plus a $150 resort fee) and then hit you with hidden fees throughout your stay.
Our bathroom door was a sliding door and when we were given the room, it was off the track and wouldn t close. The shower curtain rod fell out of the wall twice during our stay and the water efficiency toilet wouldn t flush even a piece of tissue. The maids came daily , and left the room smelling like dirty mop .
The room service breakfast is dry and ordering it was a chore since the person taking your order has apparently never seen their menu.
The water Zumba class is fun, and their main pool is very nice.
We ve stayed in better places and we ve stayed in worse, but I wouldn t call the royal palms luxury.

This place is so outdated It's hard to believe this is a Marriott. Rooms have not been updated since it was built probably 50 years ago. Furniture is beat up. Were on the 16th floor and the roof top AC which is probably 50 years old is just screaming. What a joke. Management refused to move us even though they said there was a room available.

Check- in process slow. Room has other people s hair on floor - like 25-35 hairs not just a missed one or two. It s gross, we had to clean it first. Then we tried to take a shower - just hand towels and wash clothes. It has been over an hour... we called front desk and went to front desk. Still no towels. Not impressed at all. Very disappointing.
