I enjoyed my entire experience while staying at the James. Most exceptional, was the service provided by the young gentleman attending the pool. Shawn was attentive to our needs and really made us feel at home each morning while we relaxed poolside. I always say "service makes the stay" and this was certainly no exception.

My husband and I are currently staying here and I don't usually do reviews but I feel that one of the lovely ladies on reception defiantly deserved one her name is Ingrid and she went 100 percent above and beyond to provide a fantastic experience for myself and my husband! Yes they were having some minor renovations but she want out of her way to make sure our honeymoon in Miami was a fantastic experience, it is people like her who make the service industry amazing and I wish that all staff that we encountered at check in at other hotels were like her, thank you royal palm and Ingrid once again xxx

I truly enjoyed my stay at The Royal Palms hotel. The staff was very accommodating. I was welcomed with a smile by Pedro and Sharnice. The room and bathroom were clean. The hotel was conveniently located on Collins Avenue in the middle of everything. Walgreens, restaurants, night clubs, etc. I will staying here again the next time I visit Miami

The location of the hotel was nice, beach access was close and nice but the hotel rooms and staff need to do better. Upon check in my card was charged $150 for the resort fee which is fine but the next day my card was charged another $50 but front desk couldn t see it they claimed. Mind you I paid cash for everything never billed anything to the room. They said they would dispute the $50 well the next day I was charged another $100 I went to front desk asking what the charge was for they said I was over my daily resort fee. How can you be over your resort fee when the first day I was there they took $150 for resort fees. Than upon checking out yesterday I was getting off elevator my notifications to bank went off I was charged $18 for 2 candy bars from mini bar that I didn t take so I said something to front desk again they took the candy bars off my bill they knew dang on well I didn t take candy because I was walking to front desk. Long story short they rip you off don t stay there they will charge your card every chance they get in hopes you won t notice.

Please, don t EVER stay at Royal Palm South Beach ...

Please, don t EVER stay at Royal Palm South Beach Miami, a Tribute Portfolio Resort. They lost one of my family members luggage for hours. One of the workers handling the luggage told my family member they had no choice, but to go to their room and wait to see if anyone returns their luggage. Made no attempt to check around or help, what so ever. We had to call the front desk and make multiple complaints in order to get them to find the luggage (hours later they claimed it was in a different storage room, magically). They also gave my family a room with a faulty door. Every time they needed to get in we d have to call a technician to pretty much take the door keypad apart, JUST to get in. They kept making it seem like it was our fault of the key cards fault. We had to dang near cuss them out to even get a room change/upgrade. Service is terrible there!! Please do not waste your hard earned money on this place. Stick to popular, known, hotels like Marriot and Holiday Inn, etc. Don t let the beautiful pictures fool you. They also have the nerves to charge $17 a day for less towels than you get at a Holiday Inn. Worst of all, here we are two weeks later and they made additional charges to my family s credit card accounts, over $400. They claim that my family member didn t make prior reservations. So the charge was for lodging . Mind you, this whole trip was prepaid through a travel agency. My family has contacted them multiple times and they haven t addressed or reversed the charges. We never ordered room service and left the hotel with no damages, therefore there should be no additional charges, what so ever. Seriously the WORST hotel I ve EVER been to!! A motel would ve been better or even an underground tunnel! I will NEVER return to Royal Palm and urge everyone not to as well. They are scammers hoping you won t notice that they re talking money out of your accounts. I will be contacting the better business bureau. Will also be disputing all the extra charges from this hotel with my bank.

1st staying at the royal palm, had a awesome stay. Room was clean, staff was great. Great pool, land once you walk out of the gated pool area your Rite on the beach. There wasn t a lot of kids at the resort, that. Was a plus for me. Also a fully stocked wet bar in the room. Perfect. A one block walk to the main strip. Right in the heart of south beach

Room was great, great location. Staff, as a whole, was great although there were a few instances of unorganized situations with the valet, but it didn't damper the experience as a whole. Just would like to see them have things in a more organized fashion. Would stay again.

This hotel is OLD, reception is nice, staff are nice but facilities are seriously aged. Bathroom is terrible, beds are terrible, this was my upgrade as a platinum elite yet better rooms were available but implied I wasn't good enough to get. Elevator sounds like it's gonna crash and check out the medium steak that was burnt to a crisp. I can't believe how terrible this hotel is for the price I paid. The worst marriott hotel I've stayed at and given I'm platinum on multiple hotel chains including bon voy, I can tell u this is probably the worst value.

Had a cozy and pleasant stay here. We upgraded to a room with an ocean view and it was well worth the money. Front desk/concierge could use some work with informing guests on the TRUE cost of their stay at the INITIAL point of sale, this way the perception of the hotel is completely transparent. All in all though, great location, great views it'll be worth it!

I was in Miami for a conference at the Loews and had to stay at the Royal Palm at Loews was sold out. I am a Marriott Titanium member and lifetime Platinum member. However, Royal Palm is one of the worst hotel I have ever been to and Marriott should be ashamed to have its name associated with this hotel. Everything at this hotel smells - the elevators stink and my hotel room stunk. The floors in my room were dirty, the bathroom so-so with extremely slippery floors, the bedding is cheap and the pillows are awful. The gym is a joke with barely working treadmills, a few basic machines and a small set of dumbbells. The AC is my room was blowing air right into my head when laying in bed. I was sick the next morning after the first night and then had to climb up on a chair and turn the fins of the vent by hand to direct the airflow away from me. Finally, the service at the Royal Palm is terrible. After checking in, I had to wait over an hour to have my bag brought up (they stored it from earlier in the day). I called Guest Services about 15 times and no one bothered to answer. I then went downstairs and found my bag just sitting in the lobby unattended. I tried calling Guest Services a few other times with other questions, and got an answer once out of about 15 attempted calls. All of this for $650 per night? I would not pay $100 per night for this hotel. Will not return unless I really have no choice at all.

Royal palm is really a beautiful hotel well located in Miami Beach. The rooms are very clean, the bed is very comfortable and there is a wide choice of pillows. The room cleaning service is really efficient, also in the shower there are: shampoo, conditioner and shower gel. The hotel is equipped with 3 swimming pools and a descent to the sea, and 2 beach loungers are included on the beach. The staff is really professional and available to all customer needs. It was really a beautiful stay, strongly recommended.

Good location- hotel and rooms are clean. Staff is friendly.
Make sure you check the bill because they don t always tell you when they charge things.
Had a noisy room (808), due to ice machine and electrical mechanics room next to us. They changed us to an ocean view, much better.
Swimming pool is small but we re only interested in the beach.

The location and hotel are very nice (unless you get put in the motel like part like we were). These definitely deserve 4-5 stars. However the service and policies at the hotels aren t anything close to deserving stars. Lots of the staff are friendly but they will not cooperate here. The saying the customer is always right seems to have swapped here where the employee is always right. Along with that there are some ridiculous policies that they don t ever warn you about. One for example is the $9 delivery fee for room service. I ordered a $9 cheesecake and got charged $18 dollars for a mediocre piece of cake. They do not warn you of this so watch out. Unfortunately the experience is not close to what many would call paradise as that is what they would expect here on the beach. I will not be staying here again nor would I recommend others to stay here if you are looking to (until they change their management and policies).

DON'T PARK AT THE HOTEL. The valet parking is run by USA Parking and they are the worst. They damaged my rental vehicle in March 2016 and I have been fighting with them for 2+ months to recover the $533 in damages. The incident is well documented. There are public self-park garages close by and well worth the walk.

Nice facility, but they have a serious problem with people stealing from the pool. Our group of people had 4 phones and 2 wallets stolen at the pool. They also don't even have a security camera out there.

I love this art deco hotel in Miami . It was really comfortable and pretty. Great place to stay very close to shopping . I removed one star because the food at the bar could have been better , a little on the greasy side . The pool party with the DJ was a lot of fun . Nice staff as well .

Not the ritziest place on SB but it's still a favorite. Reasonable room prices. Great location and service. Bike rentals. Beach service is nice. Cons: overcrowded food and hyperinflated drink prices.

The staff was very nice and helpful. We reserved an ocean view room but the only ocean view room they had available didn't really have a view because there was a tree right outside the window. They automatically put us in a 2 bedroom suit. It was lovely!

Horrible Experience. Gratuity is built-in (which is normally not an issue) but the employees feel like they have no reason to do their job well since they already get their tip. Terrible service. This resort is not for adults looking to get away. Many children and everything closes at 10pm. Its a shame to pay thousands of dollars and have to go out of your way to order food or a drink. Hot tub was broken the entire stay of our 5 day trip after countless managers said that it was fixed. I will never be going back here.

This plot of land should be fined for having such an eloquent steaming hot pile of garbage where this "hotel" should be.

Front desk staff was nice.

The valet staff blew smoke in my face as I entered the hotel. Hands full of bags, not a single bellhop opened a door for me. I'm platinum premier elite at Marriott and have been for a few years. I didn't receive an upgrade, free water, points, or a meal credit like I have at literally hundreds of other hotels.

The room was outdated and fees are sneaky. The bottle of water in the room is $12 and the price isn't listed anywhere.

The resort fee is not shown when you book but it's about $35 just to go outside. The staff at the pool was respectful but careless when it came to the chairs, towels, etc.

The staff at the beach was awful, waking me up from multiple naps to make sure I was actually staying at the hotel and ask my room number multiple times.

When I asked for late checkout (4PM guaranteed by my status) they said the absolute latest they could do was 1PM, and at 12:59 I had a ferociously mean room service manager knocking loudly at my door requesting I vacate the premises immediately. I even tipped $40 to the maid each night.

Overall, this hotel is outdated, the staff is horrible (except front desk), the management is super disrespectful, the pool is OK, but this has to be one of the worst hotel experiences I've ever had. I wouldn't subject a person to have to go to this hotel and quite frankly it should be leveled and replaced with literally anything else.

Expensive for what it is. I remember it being much more pleasant than my last visit. Their restaurant is good, the valet wrecked my rental Yukon in garage and wouldn't take responsibility? Wow, really! I guess it's a biased review but feel cheated and lied too. If valet wouldn't have crashed car into yellow pole in garage, it would have received a higher rating and review. The worst thing is they denied doing it until I called Miami Police. What a day, all I can say.

They gave me a free 4 Night Beachfront Room for future use, then failed to honor it under new ownership.

That's 2 for 2, not waiting for 3rd

Great views. Not much room for parking. No snacks available in hotel anywhere. Older hotel smells. Had to move rooms from urine smells. Resort fees NOT included $31 for chairs and towels on beach. Valet for car is $42 day.. Could have stayed elsewhere for more money. Lesson learned..

Unfortunately I had the worse experience. I stayed last month for 6 days and a men broke into my bedroom while we were sleeping. It was horrible!!!
My sister was with me that night. The guy stole our iPhones and my sister wallet.
We are very lucky nothing else happened with us. Hotel that night was blaming us. Following day we were treated like a Queen.
The hotel has friendly staff the problem here is the security.

The doors are old and don't close well and even when they look they are close, They aren't close. Be careful with that.

I was there for a convention, and was extremely disappointed with the accommodations. There were long lines to check in and out, rooms were not refurbished as they said, rooms not clean. Black hair in shower and bed. It was a real disappointment.

Starwood should be ashamed to have their name on the hotel!

Loved or 6 day stay here, Our room (1145) was great and we loved our beautiful sunrise views. Hotel is close to all the South beach action and just a few steps from the ocean. Pools are great, staff was great. Prices just like in all of south beach, are high, but if you are going to south beach you know this. We will be back again to this hotel.

Stayed for one night. The location is right in the middle of everything! The room was super spacious and clean! I was very disappointed in the room service. They were out of almost everything and the one thing they did have ( mozzarella tomato Panini ) it was completely cold! Plus the delivery fee was insane! Also we were sitting by the pool at 12:30 am and got kicked out by a security guard that shined his flash light and told us we couldn t be there! Took away that vacation feeling! On the bright side The beach are steps away from the hotel!

I don t understand why I was charged 33 dollars destination fee plus the tax they added for the The destination fee which was 4 dollars and some change for things they didn t have which was food gym and bikes that I didn t see So that means I was changed for two bottles of water that was on the room must be water for the Fountain of youth. I didn t have a car so parkings wasn t necessary. The customer service was TERRIBLE!!! Nobody understands what your saying or know why this is this or that . Good luck getting anybody on the phone or even getting clean towels . I was told I would getting my security deposit back I never received it was told it was used which it wasn t ! But for the most parts the rooms are clean and I had a beautiful view of the beach

We attended for a wedding. The wedding was beautiful but the hotel had some issues from things in our room not being up to par (poor condition of the room and lacking in proper care between visitors) for the rate they charge even with the room discount for the wedding and some of the staff not being as attentive as they should. Our next stay in Miami will most likely be in a different hotel.

Beautiful and artistic layout and decor, great attention to detail. Service is great, hotel team members are very kind and helpful. Florida Cookery restaurant was great for breakfast and the patio had a great view. Easy access to great restaurants, shopping, entertainment, and of course a short walk right on to the beach! I would definitely stay here again

Nice interior. Rooms could be bigger. Pool is a decent size with good beach access. Hotel looks a little dated outside. The A/C unit was on auto but seemed to shut off when at 73 degrees or higher, and constantly on when in 72 or lower. Location wise, it's in a good area. Not far from clubs, restaurants, and main south beach strip. Very good for the price point
