Mike (Finance), Dante (Sales) and Mike (Contracts) were a fabulous Jack Powell team to work with! They were extremely efficient and very responsive in the whole new car purchase process from start to finish. They made me change my perspective on the new car buying experience to a 'POSITIVE' one! I highly recommend Jack Powell in Escondido to help anyone that is looking for a new Jeep | Dodge | Ram | Chrysler vehicle. Make sure to ask for Dante!!

Needed to have some recalls and 15K service completed on my truck.

Normally I dread dealership experiences, however since my purchase was handled professionally and with little drama I decided to see how service went. Much to my surprise and in line with my original purchase the experience was great! Kyle was my service manager and he did an outstanding job of answering all of my questions and making me feel welcome.

I highly recommend Jack Powell for vehicle purchases and service. While I live about 5 minutes from Carl Burger, I chose to drive an hour to Jack Powell for my vehicle needs, that should tell you something!

Went in to dealership prior to work left my CC info along with specific instructions on oil change and tire rotation had Jeep brought in for service and this is Not the first time this has happen they do not follow instructions. Well oil change and no tire rotation. This been on going issue with Jack Powell service department. It could be techs are lazy not wanting to do the job or service writer is giving a dam not documenting notes to relay to techs . Not sure what there problem with maintenance and instructions. This problem has happened to many times in over two years I suspect there more concern about quantity instead of quality not a coincidence keeps happening over and over . Don t recommend this dealership those small detail can make a difference with the way your vehicle runs and perform. For who ever reads this check your vehicle prior to leaving Jack Powell make sure job is completed as promised.

I have had my car for 1.5 years, bought it from this dealership, had a wonderful experience with the sales team, and have had it serviced here before with no problems...until now. My van had a couple recalls that needed to be taken care of so I took it in to have that, along with some other routine maintenance, taken care of. My service rep calls me to let me know that while inspecting my vehicle they noticed my tires were getting to the point of needing replaced. I found this odd as there is under 27k miles on those tires. The rep tried to tell me that SUVs and vans, because of their weight, tend to go through tires at a faster rate. He gave me a quote for some tires he recommended, but having bought tires before I called BS and spoke with another tire dealer. The tires on my car are rated for 60k miles, and the tire dealer said to bring it in and if they do need changed they can contact the manufacturer to warranty them out. I call the rep at Jack Powell back, mention this to him, and he says they aren't an authorized dealer for that manufacturer so they can't handle any warranties through them. Needless to say, I was not pleased, and it left me feeling like they'd tried to scam me.

Family Owned Fantastic! Two of the biggest factors for me in buying my new Ram 4x4 from Jack Powell were: My Salesperson Doug and the fact this dealership is the last family owned one in Escondido at the auto mall. These two factors were bigger than price and selection for me. Fortunately, the selection was AWESOME, they had my exact truck, and I have never gotten a better deal on a new car ever before in my life (I'm 55 and have bought a lot!) I'm proud to be part of the Jack Powell family now!

Found a great Chrysler 300 for a wonderful price. I initially contacted the dealer to discuss a car that I had seen online. Chris was my sales agent who worked with me to get the price that I was looking for. Trouble free and great customer care, they seemed to get busy with other customer and Chris made sure that I was taken cared of.

The process was fast and easy, I went there for the car that I wanted and there was no hassle with them trying to sell me what I was not interested in. The environment was friendly and the overall staff was great.

The facility was clean and very welcoming, I would highly recommend Jack Powell for there care and customer service. Thanks for the awesome car!

I went to Jack Powell ready to buy a new unlimited Rubicon and actually came to an agreed upon price over the phone the next day. Twenty minutes later, they called me back and said they had "dealer traded" the Jeep away and I could not buy it. Next, their salesman Daniel called and tells me he found another one in a different color for nearly the same price. In fact, it was a Sahara and not anything I wanted. I think this dealership is dishonest and I experienced their game playing to a degree worse than I have ever seen any time in my 43 years of car buying. Needless to say, Jack Powel gets a big zero and I suggest avoiding them like the plague. I then went Poway Jeep and had a stellar experience and got a great price. Poway deserves your business.

I scheduled an appointment to have my oil changed, rotate the tires, and fix a TPGS sensor. The appointment was for 8:30 AM and I was expecting to have it back before my lunch break since the work should take roughly an hour and a half to two hours. I dropped the truck off at 7:45 AM. I drove by there in an 18 wheeler work truck around 11:30 AM and saw my truck just sitting in a back lot without anyone working on it. It took all day long for them to complete the work on my truck and I missed lunch! I got a call, around 3:30PM saying my truck was almost done s d should be ready around 5:00PM! I asked the service rep what is taking so long and he said appointments only guarantee that it will be completed THAT DAY and if I were to just drop it off it might take a couple days. I had gone here before for some factory recall appointment and it took about 3 hours to complete and they started right away. Not sure what happened now, but thank you for the not so great service, this is why I stopped taking vehicles to Bob Baker and now I'll go somewhere else in the future.

This is my second purchase from Jack Powell Dodge Ram. The fact that I returned to this dealership based on the first purchase experience speaks volumes! With the quality service provided during my first purchase, sales rep was Doug, I didn t even consider going someplace else.
My second purchase was a 2019 Charger, sales rep s were Alyas and Cameron, again I received outstanding service and walked away extremely satisfied with my purchase and the contract that was generated. Top notch dealership!

My husband and I were in the process of trying to trade and buy a car from a dealership. Our car needed repairs at the time and were quoted a trade in value that we felt was under appraisal. I wasn't happy with their quote and decided to make a call to Mr. Payne, a great car salesman that sold me my car 4 years ago. He was considerate enough to explain the trade in process regarding our car and how to get a true value of what our car could be worth. Even though we were trying to buy a car from another dealership, he still advised us on the value of the suv we were trying to buy and to beware.

I could not have asked for a more pleasant, smooth, efficient and fun experience buying a car! Though I initially saw Alan, but on his day off Dante assisted me with my purchase as well. Both were extremely helpful, answered all of my questions, and provided any information available about the vehicles I was interested in.
Michael stepped in to pinch hit for Dante as it was crazy busy when I was there. Though they had to switch back and forth between customers... to keep everyone addressed and in the loop, and still... the experience was excellent.
Mike in DMV Processing was really awesome to work with. He went out of his way to give me every benefit with regard to finance, warranty and other coverage for my new car.
Thank you everyone for your help with my new car purchase!

I bought a 2018 Tesla , expensive car, one of the only on the lot , and it was riddled with crumbs and looked like it hadn't been cleaned . I couldn't believe how they represented their cars. Not a single employee actually greeted me! The girl at the service desk didn't greet, hardly talked then grunted at her computer because it wasn't working properly! All in all, from the time I purchased my vehicle there, several oil changes and now a big repair under warranty, service have not been great. They were only trying to be friendly while selling me a vehicle, and now no effort is made.

Most unprofessional and unethical team.

I took a test drive, zero'ed on the model I want, for the price I was comfortable. we agreed on the model/price post which they took all my financial information (SSN, outstanding mortgage, how much I earn etc). They took the car for prep work (/detailing) and made me wait for 2 hours.
Now after whole 3 hours of deal-making, they realized that they could not honor the price we agreed upon before. Brian (I guess the manager of this unprofessional team) came to me and said in an adamant tone, it was a SMALL MISTAKE from their end and they will not sell the car for the price they agreed. And guess what, they even shred my paperwork even before asking me (I seriously fear about my SSN information)

Everyone I dealt with was very friendly. I received a call when my car was ready (something a lot of dealers don t do). The checkout process was easy as well. Would highly recommend.

Recently purchased a brand new 2013 Dodge Journey ...

Recently purchased a brand new 2013 Dodge Journey in July 2013. 4 days later, it started having issues. It's been a nightmare this entire time. I've had issues with Jack Powell in the past, in terms of the Service Department. After posting a newgative review, they assured me they are making changes. This is not so. Service has been bad for the last three years that I've been taking my other vehicle there, and service continues to be bad now.

Don't bother speaking to any of the managers either. They don't return calls. After you've made a purchase, they could care less about you or their crappy cars.

Last year I brought in m 2008 Jeep Patriot for an oil change and air filter. They never put in the air filter. They charged me for it however. I drove around for three months without an air filter, only until my next oil change at Sears, was it noticed that it was missing. I complained to Jack Powell and they did refund the $40, but who knows what types of issues me engine might have now from this incident.

Everything about this place is off. From going in for an oil change, purchasing a brand new car, or trying to get a call back from a manager. There is some serious leadership issues at this place that will probably never be addressed.

Just sold my Minivan to them thru the KBB buyback program. Overall it was an easy and pleasant experience. KBB said they would buy it for $20,800. They ended up giving me $20,300. I took a week for the check to come in the mail. Carmax only offered me $19,500 but would have cut the check right there on the same day. I decided to wait and make an extra $800.

Overall, the whole experience took about a hour for them to evaluate and agree to come to terms on the final price and sign the paperwork.

#1 Damage My Vehicle and haven't paid for the repairs!
#2 Car Broke Down after Service on the Grapevine. Blown Coil which was known to have issues, but didn't fix.
#3 Asked for and Extended test to test heat issue in Transmission. Instead Used the Car as overnight rental for Employee!
#4 Gave the car clean second visit. got the car back filthy after having it only one day!
#5 Waited 45 minutes when I had appointment to check in.

I have to say this place, is amazing. They made it possible for me to achieve my dream of buying a Dodge challenger (2015)!! For a reasonable price and the sells men Benny and the Manager were willing to help we get the most of my buck. I have been hitting the road with my new car, I'v put 1,500 miles already and it still run great!!!!! I would recommend this place to my buddies in the service and others.
Im sure hoping to come back to this dealer ship in 2017 to buy the newest model of the challenger..

Loved dealing with Jack Powell Jeep. Great experience with Cameron and Jaime. No pressure, informative experience. Explained to Cam what my needs were, room for grandkids but not an SUV. Cam showed me what options would work for me. Ended up with Wrangler Sport. Test drove, figured out what was great and made purchase; whole experience took less than 3 hours. Loved working with Jaime in finance! Gave options with absolutely no pressure. Met with Jason who made sure I was happy with my purchase. What a wonderful no-stress car buying experience! Highly recommend this friendly no pressure car buying experience

If you have a diesel vehicle stay away from this dealer. When I had my 2005 Dodge Sprinter there in April they only had 1 part time diesel mechanic on staff. They had my Sprinter for 2 weeks and when I came to pick it up the same check engine light was on that I brought it in for; that service cost me $1,600. So I brought it back in to get the check engine light fixed and 1 week later and another $300 I came back to pick it up. Before even getting home the check engine light came back on so I can only guess that they cleared the code to satisfy me at the dealership but did not fix the problem.

I brought my Challenger in for its first oil change, which at the time I bought it I was told would be free. I did not have a coupon or anything in writing, but Matthew took my word for it and I was not charged. I proceed to see why I did not have anything in writing and I was issued two more coupons for the next two times. I also had an intermittent problem with my passenger side heated seat. The service department had to keep it longer than the promised return time, but they found the problem and ordered the parts to fix my seat.

Buyer beware! I wish I could rate this dealership with negative stars. We purchased a vehicle at from them that has to be replaced because of mechanical issues. At first we tried working with the dealership to get the replacement done outside of the third party company Chrysler works with. They made a show of trying to make us their best deal but ultimately it was an attempt to get more money out of us. They wanted us to trade our van in at a loss of $10k because of the extensive service record . We declined. We then went to Chrysler Corporate and worked out a replacement agreement. The management at the dealership refused to do the replacement because it is time consuming and they will not profit even though one of their sales associates was willing to do the work. I am completely disgusted with how this dealership handled our issue. They will also waste your time (we sat in their waiting room for 4 hours waiting to sign paperwork to sell back the warranty on the van) and will lie to your face about wanting to help you. They are only interested in profits, not in customer service or satisfaction.

They do a good job and oil change is a good deal but just not able to handle the demand the wait times are awful for first come first serve"express service". On top of the appointments being set months outs. Not sure if it's the space the short staff or what but I would prefer my vehicles maintenance to be at the dealer but they make it inconvenient on top of when I call to ask a question the one with the answer is busy and when I leave a message or ask for a call back I get nothing.
So 3 stars for this place great cars just need to step up the service game.

Bitterly disappointed in the dealer. I usually have a great experience here. I came in for a recall service today and was told they don't have the parts. I left a voicemail two weeks ago detailing my request, then I made an online appointment. I received a text from the dealer confirming the appointment, showed up today, and no go.

As a customer I did my due diligence in providing the dealer the necessary information for my service. No one called me back, and I never received a response via email besides the automated appointment booking.

When I walked inside and the service rep called their parts dept to check to see if they had the part she mentioned that, "I don't want to waste your time." Well you did! I cleared my meeting schedule that I had to re-schedule for another day, and now I have to come in again and waste another day. Now I'll be driving around for another two weeks with a potentially fatal airbag defect.

I won't be coming back to Jack Powell unfortunately. It's customer service 101 and they failed.

Husband was contacted by Jack Powell because they wanted to make an offer on his truck that I posted on Auto Trader. He brought the truck on Friday (3-27-20) and was offered a very fair price, about $4k below KBB. He accepted the offer and scheduled to bring it back on Monday, since he needed to remove some equipment before giving the truck to them. After spending 3 hours removing the items (which he would have left on for private sale), he left work early to bring the truck Monday. Surprise surprise, they didn't honor the offer made on Friday. They dropped it by $3,500 dollars. When he asked why they wouldn't honor the offer they had said specifically they would honor, he just got an apology and an offer of a gas card. Total waste of his time, that actually cost him half a day of work. So frustrating that people don't have integrity.

I've had nothing but a great experience with Jack Powell. We bought our vehicle from here, then left within 30 days of purchasing it. We found ourselves back in the area over a year later and naturally brought our vehicle to them for maintenance. I had made an appointment to get the recalls on my vehicle taken care of. I also needed an oil change and tire rotation. Upon arriving the service department was extremely busy and unfortunately my mind instantly thought the worst and that I would be without my beloved vehicle all day. I asked for an approximation of how long my vehicle would be in the service department. The gentleman that took care of me advised me it would be about 4 hours. I had a friend pick me up and thought it would be well after the 4 hour mark before getting my vehicle back. About 30 minutes before the 4 hour mark, I received a phone call stating my vehicle would be done in 30 minutes. I was shocked. Overall, my experience was great and even though they were extremely busy, they were still very respectable and very professional and delivered what they promised! I will definitely be returning as long as I'm in San Diego! Thank you all at Jack Powell!

I can t believe that I drove from Los Angeles to this dealership that was so misleading. DANTE was the sales person I spoke to and dealt with when I arrived at the dealer and Immediately as I open the door I saw problems with the truck that he was proposing to sell me out of the discount then I realize immediately as I open the front driver side door why it was discounted had a lot of rust inside the cab as you enter the cab and the entire undercarriage looks like it was submerged and left underwater for a very long time all of the undercarriage was rusted. Then after explaining to the sales person that that vehicle must have been a vehicle that was underwater and had all that rust damage he insisted and offered a better deal and what would it take to sell me the truck and I immediately responded that I would not even test drive the vehicle no matter what. I can t believe the sales people will do whatever they can say whatever they can and south is unsafe vehicles to customers

Bought a jeep at jack powell and at first thought the process was good with a good deal. The problem started when someone at the dealer mishandeled the title paperwork and put a bank on it that had nothing to do with the deal. The jeep was paid for in cash and they listed a lein holder of some random bank. That is a little scary. It has been almost a year and still no title. You would think paying for the car in cash would be easy. I guess finance at Jack powell was a sleep at the wheel when they did this deal. Very bad followup as well and the problem is still not solved. They need to be more professional making sure paperwork is accuarate and when it is not solve it immediatly.

Jack Powwel has the worst service department I've ever dealt with. They are nothing more than a shade tree mechanic outfit operating under an established dealer name. They did not finish services that were payed for, they lied about issues that were brought to their attention, and the staff are some of the most unprofessional people I've tried to work with. If they were a service only department they would be out of business judging by my experience and others. Read the reviews and save yourself the trouble, buy your vehicles and service them through Cal Worthington, Bob Baker, Poway, Carl Burger, Rancho, San Diego, or any where but this sad excuse of a business.

I recently purchased a CPO Ram 1500 and the experience was pretty good at first then started to go down hill quick after I actually signed on the dotted line. First as I was signing all the documents I signed one that said there are no active recalls on the vehicle which come to find out is not the case. A recall was issued for the vehicle almost three weeks prior to my purchase. I guess I can take a little responsibility because typically I do a lot of research but I didnt on recalls. So now I have to take off work to get the truck serviced for the recall. Second I test drive the truck and it had floor mats. While I was signing all the paperwork they took it to get washed and it came back with no floor mats. Believe me I know it sounds strange but it happened. So know I ve been getting the run around about getting floor mats and last I was told they had to order them and that was 3 days ago. And lastly the vehicle I purchased had very low mileage as in fewer than it needing a oil change but the vehicle was almost two years old so I asked if it had a oil change prior to being put on the lot for sale and was told it had a oil change. So I called the service dept to see if they could look at service records and of course no record of it ever having a oil change. This has all been within the first week so we shall see how this relationship continues with the dealership

Would buy again from them. The finance guy (can't remember his name, Sep. 3rd) was swamped because they were down a guy but he also did a great job.

Service department is SLOW on repairs, on returning calls, on getting you in...

It's almost as if they think you don't actually need your car returned in a timely manner.

Due to the warranty being connected to the dealership, I'll be back there; however, I wish I had more options to choose from.

My recommendation is, don't buy a car from them that would require you to be dependent upon their service department.

They had it for four days, ordered the wrong part... options then were to leave it for an extra day for them to order the right part OR bring it back another time. After they had the car for FOUR days!

I called multiple times to talk to a manager and they wouldn't transfer us to one. One of the times I called they said, "I can't transfer you to the manger but they won't tell you anything different then the service representative."

Not sure what else I could have done...

I gave it two starts because it seems like the actual repairs on the cars was good and they were able to work within the warranty to keep the cost down; otherwise I would have given them one.

This is one of the easier car buying experiences I have had - Salesman Chris was phenomenal - overall the experience was very positive - only comment - need to speed up the signing process - I understand the bureaucratic red tape - should process before customer signing where possible
