Old but majestic hotel. Reminds me of many old movies shot here.

This place is another time tested and legendary place, it's had it's name changed thrice in total from being called adyar gate hotel and then park Sheraton, now its Crowne plaza. The interiors are gloomy and dim lit food is great and the whole place is nothing less than impressive.

Good place. Live music at the restaurant is beautiful.
Hotel staff seemed a bit off.

Good hospitality and helpful receptionist. They given nice introduction about their service and explained about their facilities providing including the restaurants closing timings, swimming pool, etc..

Though we have visited the restaurant "On The Rocks" in Crowne Plaza Chennai several times, enjoyed the food, especially the steaks, we had a very bad experience today.

We saw the menu of 'On The Rocks' for 'Restaurant Week India', a program that we have participated in before. We wanted to book, but unfortunately, there was a technical glitch in the third party online reservation. After several unsuccessful conversations with the third parties' customer care, we finally called the hotel to see if they could help me out by sorting the issue with their partners or something to help me.

Unfortunately, Aniket the F&B manager was extremely rude and constantly interrupting my wife on the call, not even listening to what she had to say. He did not even offer a nice word throughout the conversation, let alone offer a call back after discussing with his partners!

We am very disappointed that a hotel of this class has nothing by way of courtesy or service to offer to its regular customers.

Crownplaza is a 5hotel which is located in heart of city in chennai. Which is 13km away from airport. The hotel is also known as Adyar Gate Hotel. This hotel hotel as 5 restaurants and 1bar and 1 night club. Must visit is hotel if your in chennai. Affordable and great service..

Comfortable rooms. Great buffet breakfast. If only the checkout process can be made a little more efficient, this is certainly an awesome place for a business traveler!

One of the bestest hotel i must say, brilliant architecture, humble staff , quick service, buffet breakfast and dinner is ultimately amazing, guitarist and singer at dinner hall adds on to ur time, gym and pool is superb and well-maintained, rooms are ossum, GASTBY pub is on a cacke....special thanx to duty manager Mr. VEEJESH, Truly 5 star.

Excellent place, remembered a few good olden days attached with the place and met several friends in the marriage of a friend's son. Spent equality time in the beautiful ambience of the banquet hall among friends which I would cherish.

I saw presence of mosquitos circling on my babies in reception area and flies sitting on my plate while eating inside buffet hall.

The evening of December 31, 1988 is the eve of Sylvester, and I can not, as a hotel guest, eat dinner at any of the hotel's restaurants, since all places have been booked in advance by people who are not guests of the hotel.
I will not go back to this hotel after I've been here a few times, and even then I was not impressed by the service.

It was a nice experience! Actually I went for a presentation from club Mahindra group.

Beautiful hotel, nicely built and good facilities availed. The stay was Cozy, there are three restaurants within this hotel.

It's good for hospitality and stay. A very small swimming pool. There is lots of security disturbances as sports personnels staying here and some political parties having meetings here. So you can't roam or enjoy as you like. Politicians occupied the entire parking and way to the parking. Buffett is normal only... If they avoid political parties meetings it will be good.

We are regulars to this place from when it was called Adyar gate. Comfort zone ambience, Great food, Friendly staff.
All of the above but for one unpleasant experience during my friend s birthday lunch on 11-11-18. We were witness to some lousy singing by a rude performer who was apparently annoyed by the kids having fun in the restaurant and refused to sing further (there was a kids carnival that day in-house and she didn t expect kids?) . Interestingly, there was a sigh of relief amongst all others when she stopped singing . That s when we realised we were not the only ones.
But for her the place deserves 5 stars.

Good hotel... Near to Adayar, having more recreation centre.... Nice service...

Decent place. Food is good. Floor numbers are very confusing. They need to make it more understandable. Lobby though is very limited & is restricted to only residents. I don't know what prompted them to take this action. Otherwise the place is worth every penny.

Good place. Rooms a little small but clean. Bathrooms plain with old fittings.

Victorian style walkway with traditional ceiling fans did bring back the old school memories. Good food, standard size pool. The hotel has a combination of traditional and morden rooms.

On the rocks is a place worth visiting. Amazingggggggg
