Loved the Islington Assembly Hall when I went to see The Slow Readers Club supported by October Drift (both were amazing and bands to keep an eye one) The Hall created a great atmosphere, the high ceiling took away any claustrophobic feelings, good bar and wide stage with a good view from most directions.

The venue is good for small gigs and has a nice sound system. There is loads of decent pubs and restaurants nearby as well. I went on the 5th of September and the problem was that the place was extremely hot, I guess no air conditioner at all, and the drinks at the bar quickly sold out. Total lack of planning and respect for everyone there.

Sorry guys I hate to leave a bad review but the sound was so bad. I came here with friends and we couldn't understand a word. The sound was muffled and incoherent. Really bummed a great band, we left early x

Came here for a Zelda escape game. Quite a large building and good for seeing live performances. There were lots of floors and viewing platforms which would be great if you were vising for a gig. There was a long queue to get in but I think that was the event organisers. The building itself is lovely but not much to report on really.

A really good venue. Have been both upstairs in the seated area and downstairs standing and both are good; I prefer upstairs for those acts that are a bit more mellow tho as it's unreserved you need to be early to get a decent seat.

I'd not been here before, although I've gone past it often enough. The building itself is very attractive, with some nice period features and appears to be in very good condition. What made it stands out for me was its size. It was small enough to afford a reasonable view, even from the back of the hall, which doesn't have any fixed seating, which gives an unusually intimate atmosphere. Acoustics were very good too. There are two bars at the back of the hall, one on either side. They offer a pretty good selection of drinks, considering it's a gig: a cider, a craft IPA and two lagers on tap, a selection of bottles & cans, wine and the usual spirits and soft drinks, and are reasonably priced too. All in all a nigh on perfect venue.

Nice, smaller venue if you don't like being surrounded by thousands of people in larger ones. Old theatre style feel inside with balcony seating upstairs and seating downstairs. I booked a balcony seat being my first visit to the Assembly Hall and my usual preference. The only downside for me is that they do not allocate balcony seating so if you want to guarantee the best or better seats, you need to get there well ahead of time. I go to some gigs on my own and I'm sure if you left your seat to use the facilities during the performance, it may not be free when you returned! Good venue, facilities clean and would definitely go there again
