Great small/medium venue to see bands.

Great small/medium venue to see bands.
The sound was excellent when I saw Theatre Of Hate with really good definition of the bass guitar nice clear notes. Unlike the low mushy rumble one often experiences at gigs.
Only venue downsides were the queues for the bars and toilets.
But a great Venus. .A bit like a small Shepherd's Bush Empire in layout.

Dir En Grey smashing it. The main set lasted only an hour. But unlike steel panthers half hour power hour. This was supremely powerful. Intense and emotional. The singers incredible vocal range and stage presence being the obvious highlights of the show. The singer can easily be compared to Maynard James Keenan. Not only with the vocal but with the body movements not quiet contortion that Maynard could achieve. But definitely using his body to represent what the songs about. One moment using the cable of his Mike to represent his entrails spilling out. Not only that but slamming the Mike on his platform and screaming at the top of his lungs. The preformance was reminiscent of early Akercocke when they just blast through the songs and only address the crowd at the end. I can safely say that I was enthralled by the singer in particular that I don't recollect blinking throughout. This show I am sure will be firmly in the top ten shows I have witnessed.

Excellent venue for live music, not too big so you're never far away from the stage and there's no obstructions, so sight lines are unimpeded. It's close to Highbury and Islington underground and mainline station, so it's excellent for transport connections.

Went to see Soledad the Argentinian folk singer...she usually performs in massive stadiums to thousands... The show here was maybe half full but she's so talented with great stage presence she got the crowd to suddenly seemed to have the energy of a stadium. I don't listen to this music usually but love it was a beautiful enchanting concert. Great energy and musicianship. Lovely space for functions dances etc.

Some good acts here. Drinks reasonably priced. Close to tube and places you can eat before an event. Lack of seating is a negative for me. Not as young as I was and don t want to have to stand for three hours! However, I don t think this will be a problem for most and there is a disabled persons seating area.

Great place for a intimate gig. Went there to watch an American rock band. Show was great, good service at the bar and entrance. This place is just a few steps away from bars and public transport.

Very nice venue, not too big but great atmosphere. Easy to get in and out of the venue with a good view and sound when you're inside. They seem to pick an interesting selection of artists including the fantastic Band-Maid!

One of my favourite venues in London. Stage is relatively big and of a great height so the view is pretty much unobstructed from anywhere in the venue. The sound is always great, and there is usually a lot of floor space even if the venue is pretty busy. The bar area is fairly small however, and generally there is a bit of a queue, and the prices are a little on the high side for what you're getting. But I guess that's the case for most venues. Merch stands are usually found outside the main floor area, and the toilets are a bit of a walk down some stairs, however, this isn't really much of an issue. I've also sat upstairs for some shows. The seating can be a little cramped, but the view is great and the sound is good too. Overall, I am generally happy to attend shows at this venue.

We saw Pain of Salvation there from the balcony - sound and view absolutely great! The check-in at the entrance was also quick and uncomplicated - everyone was nice and friendly, prices were also at the normal London level.
The hall can also be easily reached by tube and a few minutes' walk.
We will be back definitely. The whole ambience is great!

Been to this venue a few times and always had a good time.

Most recently went to see PWEI on 12/12/2020 and the venue and staff did an amazing job of putting on a Covid safe event. Drink service was fast, they staff were friendly and every reasonable step was taken to keep everyone safe and socially distanced.

An excellent venue both pre & post covid

Lovely venue with a lot of original period features (not least of which includes the "Crapper" type toilets!).
A word of caution for those attending concerts or other events requiring prolonged seating; the seats at the very front of the balcony are EXTREMELY cramped (really suitable only for young children or pygmies) and will quickly detract from the pleasure of the performance.

Great
