Beautiful town hall right at the centre of Islington and one if our busiest roads and a street "that never sleeps" - Upper Street. I really like the very friendly and helpful team that works here. I was opportuned tp meet the Council registrar, who appeared down to earth. The marble internal decor is just elegant.

Sound was amazing and I like the fact it can't get overcrowded because of good seat positioning. Other than that it was very unpleasant - Islington AH staff passed so many times walking like hippos what made floor and seating shaking. Opening back stage and emergency exit door over 50 times in less than an hour made me enjoying the show a mission impossible. I won't comment on policy that forbids you coming with your own drinks and forcing you to overpay for water.

Such a great place for a concert. I have been to a few concerts at the Islington Assembly and never does it feel too crowded. The staff are very polite and make you feel safe and the bar is well stocked.

My partner and I had booked the Islington Assembly Hall, a special place for us where we had our second date, as a reception venue for our wedding that was meant to happen September 2020. This was unfortunately thwarted by the Coronavirus pandemic however Islington Assembly Hall have been great, very communicative and responsive even in the heart of a global pandemic / nationwide lockdown. They ve allowed us to move our date to next year with no stress or hassle and have been very helpful. We feel very lucky and grateful and can t wait til our new wedding date. Thank you Islington Assembly Hall, especially Holly!

Really good venue. Went to a socially distant, covid compliant gig. Absolutely brilliant. Staggered arrival times. Temperature on arrival. Distanced sets of 1 and 2 chairs and little table and app for ordering drinks. One way system that was clearly signed and arrowed for the toilets. Worked very well indeed. Prices were reasonable and decent selection of drinks. Also nice toilets, proper old style with pull chain flush. Genuinely surprised at how well it it worked and the venue was very good too.

Beautiful venue and it pains me to say it but the acoustics in here are rubbish. The ceiling is really high (partly what makes it a lovely venue) but it swallows the sound making it muddy and woolly, more like a swimming pool or sports hall.

Still, if a good band plays here, I always come back, hoping maybe I've just been unlucky with the sound engineer...

Recently seen Terrorvision for a packed gig and Ben Goldacre for a talk.

On both occasions service was quick and friendly. Room is at a comfortable temperature, and even though I am very short was easily able to see the band stood in the crowd on the ground floor. As the photo shows.

The building is easily accessible on the main road and close to a number of good bars and restaurants.

Great venue for concerts although it does feel like you are attending a town planning meeting. Go, you'll see what I mean, you'll come home with a Terrorvision tour shirt and planning permission for a new garage

Sitting or standing downstairs, this is a great venue and easy to get to from Highbury or Angel stations.
Being short, it s not always the best when you re standing, like any venue. The only downside of the venue is the number of toilets downstairs and the bar prices but this is average pricing compared to other gig venues I think.
There is no lift so if you cannot use the staircase, you will need to view the show from the ground floor which does have access for wheelchairs.

Small but perfectly formed. Great view from standing area downstairs with a high stage. Easy to get to from Highbury and Islington tube. Less than 10 mins walk. Bars downstairs are reasonably priced and the security are pretty friendly. All in all a great little venue
