I'd not been here before, although I've gone past it often enough. The building itself is very attractive, with some nice period features and appears to be in very good condition. What made it stands out for me was its size. It was small enough to afford a reasonable view, even from the back of the hall, which doesn't have any fixed seating, which gives an unusually intimate atmosphere. Acoustics were very good too. There are two bars at the back of the hall, one on either side. They offer a pretty good selection of drinks, considering it's a gig: a cider, a craft IPA and two lagers on tap, a selection of bottles & cans, wine and the usual spirits and soft drinks, and are reasonably priced too. All in all a nigh on perfect venue.
