Great outdoor venue with live music. Dinner is a little pricey, but very good. Waiting staff is friendly and fashionable. Good time all around.

What a great place! A beautiful restoration of on old building conveniently located near the Harley Davidson museum. The staff was very attentive, the rooms were amazing, food was awesome, even the parking attendant was awesome. I would, and have recommended the Iron Horse as THE place to stay in Milwaukee.
The hotel is beautiful and it feels unique. When you re there, you can tell you re in Milwaukee. The staff was super friendly and upgraded our room for free when we stayed here on our wedding night. We also had a great view of the city from our windows.
Superb service and great food high quality beverages
Went here for a late night meal. The drinks and Steak sandwich were fantastic. The cheese curds were pretty good, but not the best I've ever had. The wings were pretty bad and reminded me of frozen wings or cheap pizza delivery wings and I would not recommend them. Given that, the service, speed, and overall quality was good, so I would still rate an overall 5 stars.
Very cool repurposed industrial building hosting an awesome restaurant, hotel and event venue. Harley riders- if you are in town the Iron Horse is well worth visit.
Heard of this is the best place has great food will be going here often
Brunch today was excellent! Omelet of the day and bottomless mimosas
I love the Iron Horse Hotel! We take a side trip to Milwaukee whenever we go to Madison for business, just to stay overnight at the hotel. The style and atmosphere of the hotel is unique and beautiful. The customer service is second to none. We appreciate that they are pet friendly. Come to the Iron Horse to relax, get top notch room service, hang out at the cozy bar...it's perfect.
Another amazing experience at harbor House. Here for fireworks. Great location. Food excellent , service was top notch. Rachel took very good care of us.
Can't say enough about this hotel. Amazing decor, fantastic staff. Very clean. I love the bikes nights on Thursdays.
The room was great. They upgraded us and the room was awesome. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The restaurant is very good, wonderful staff. Breakfast is in the bar, not a free breakfast, but delicious and filling. This isnt the place to go for a cheap stay but it's a wonderful splurge and definitely a bucket list stay.
Great food, good service, awesome atmosphere and fantastic drinks!
Excellent hotel, with good service and impeccable facilities. Excellent restaurant.
Only had 1 drink, but they had a pretty solid beer menu
I went to the outdoor restaurant and the food was great, the atmosphere was great, and you are right by 6th street so you can see the bridge and many other buildings from there.
Unfortunately after hearing all of the great things about this hotel it lived up to exactly NONE of our expectations. We reserved a corner alcove honeymoon suite for the night of our wedding 10/8. When we checked into the venue at 12:50 AM Sunday morning (we were not allowed an earlier check in time and our ceremony started at 3 on Saturday) with 2 of our other guests staying at the same hotel. We had to wait 2 HOURS to check into our hotel room due to the sickening incompetence of the front desk employee that could not even perform his most basic task of connecting the key cards to our room. After about 45 min of standing in front of the desk waiting for him to check us in, security agreed to let our 2 guests into their room so they didn't have to wait with us. The only problem with this was that they gave those guests OUR honeymoon suite that we payed for (and reserved 6 months in advance). After our guests told security that this was not their room (pretty obvious since it had "congratulations newlyweds" written in chalk on the tile when you entered the room), security proceeded to argue with them that it belonged to them. After they finally convinced security that the room did not belong to them, they came back down to the lobby where we continued to wait. Finally after 2 hours we were allowed into our room. Oh, and they charged our credit card twice for our one nights stay. If this was the only problem that would have been bad enough. Next, we paid a 3 dollar delivery charge for welcome bags filled with water, snacks, Advil, etc. to be delivered to our guests in our wedding block--none of which ever made it up to the rooms. Another issue was a guest of ours that came up from Texas and stayed at the iron horse as well. They stayed 3 nights and ended up with a bill totaling over $2200. Apparently, they were charged a $705 parking fee (and these people never even had a car there to park since they FLEW in) in addition to not charging them the discounted room rate for our block. Next, our other guests had brought their car for an overnight stay on Saturday and did valet parking. These idiots parked their car underneath a construction zone and ended up with over $1500 worth of damage to the roof of their car after some piece of construction equipment was dropped onto their vehicle. The last insult was given out by the sales manager Jessica (who my husband and I had actually spoken to in person after scheduling a meeting with her at the iron horse the following Tuesday because we were so very upset with our experience.). She assured us that this is not how the iron horse does business and that we would be compensated for their massive failure in service. It took her 2 days to get back to us and all iron horse would offer us was to reverse the aforementioned $705 parking charge for our Texas guests (no change in their room rates to what they were supposed to be), removed the double fee for our one nights stay (which they never should have charged in the first place and should have been done regardless of our experience), and to eliminate the fees for the welcome bag deliveries (again, which should have been done in the first place seeing as they never made it up to the rooms at all). Never have I been so disgusted with an establishment that I actually took the time to write a review online. I honestly cannot believe that this is what the iron horse offered after ruining the night after our wedding. All of their "offerings" were reversal of charges they never should have made in the first place due to their own incompetence. I could have stayed at a roach infested motel 6 and had less problems. Please DO NOT stay here if you have an important event (or for that matter ANY event) unless you want to experience an endless list of problems that will never be fully rectified.
The Iron Horse has great craft cocktails and tasty bits at the bar
Beautiful & unique atmosphere... some of the employees should be reminded that people are paying A lot of money to stay here, so being greeted with a smile & good attitude is important...
Very cool looking place inside down by the lake. Allows dogs. Neat rustic looking.
OMG my favorite place in Milwaukee. Great bar restaurant, great specialty drinks. Fun food and we didn't stay there overnight but it's an obviously great boutique hotel.
Interesting, unique hotel appropriate to where it is located, close to the Harley museum. Bike night was a blast. Good bar service and nice drinks. Food in the library was a total fail.
Great hotel. Staff is incredibly friendly. Rooms are super clean. The restaurant and bar are great. It is in a great location for a night out.
Attended for an event. Drinks were great and staff was very kind!
Went for drinks on Sunday with 3 others. We sat outdoor on the patio, and there was live music. Entertaining, but WAAAAY too loud. We had to scream and point at the menus to place our order! Other than that, it was good. Get the fries and mussels. They were the best mussels I have had in AGES! Will return with people I don't like talking to for live music.... maybe when the in-laws are in town. ;)
Beatiful hotel the front desk staff is to be desired.
Great place to sit and relax. Music at times can be to loud and food a little over priced. But $2 PBRs, relaxing on the patio on a beautiful night just cannot be beat.
Pros: Beds were comfortable, clean, nice rain shower, quality bath soaps; Cons: Staff were kind of snooty, room service ended before midnight, which was unfortunate, and they charged valet parking for driving the car literally 5 feet and then $30 for outside parking (understand the $30 for night, but seemed like a lot for outside)
Beautiful rooms, comfortable, friendly. Food was good. Outside patio was comfortable and relaxing.
My wife and I live in MKE and wanted a staycation somewhere in town that we haven t been to before and the Iron Horse was our choice. We ve heard nothing but good things about the place for a few years now and it did not disappoint. The decor is both modern and rustic, it has several points of interest within the vicinity (restaurant, bar, library, party rooms, etc) and the rooms are hip loft-style units that you would come to expect from the very trendy Walkers Point.
The thing we were most impressed with was the service. From the moment we arrived, until the moment we left, we felt cared for by the extremely professional, courteous and friendly staff. On our first night we wanted to eat at their restaurant Smythe, but due to the number of reservations we chose to sit at the bar and eat instead. Since eating at the bar is typically non-traditional for the fine dining experience, it didn t make it any less enjoyable for us at all. If anything, it combined the casual feel of eating at a bar but instead of pub fare, we were treated to exquisite cusine.
Our bartender/server Tim not only kept our glasses and plates full, but he was a great conversationalist and provided the kind of quality service you would be accustomed to by a fine establishment.
We will be back!!
Went to the Iron Horse for a Wedding. The special event space was nice and the staff was great!
Comfortable and professional, enjoyed the 3 nights at the hotel, would definitely return.
The drinks were REALLY good, but the fish fry not so much. It was tempura fried, making the batter very thick and mushy in places. I asked for malt vinegar, but something about it tasted off (can vinegar even spoil? If it can, it did.) Overall it was ok, but I wouldn't get the fish fry again.
Best patio in the city. It's wedding season so things are a little loud, but the room was great, service was great, and there place is cool as ever.
Attended an social event, and bar was very understaffed for the volume of traffic. Would have appreciated if they would have prepared ahead of time and had more staff told alleviate the volume of drink orders.
nice hotel right in the heart of everything, parking has a lot to be desired. had to pay and my GMC 3500 long box dually didn't fit very well.
Great hotel. Clean, very unique decor! Excellent food and drinks! Friendly staff!
Very cool rustic vibe, great rooms for business trips
The lighting is a little too "romantic" for a presentation. It's a great space though
The owner, Tim Dixon is an awesome, humble guy who supports and encourages everyone around him. A great guy to know! Happy to support his ventures.
Only stayed for a drink at the hotel bar (Branded?). The place was hopping and they have an innovate cocktail and drink menu. I highly recommend the Dia del Gallo, a cocktail including black pepper tincture and sriracha!
Great food, great live music, and spectacular ambiance supported by friendly staff. Always fun.
A Milwaukee experience and great Walkers Point neighborhood. Fantastic energy and attention to detail with homage to Industrial past.
My husband and I stayed at the Iron Horse for three nights; he had stayed for business previously but this was my first visit. From the moment you walk in the door you notice this place is unique. An old warehouse turned hotel with a comfortable lobby, fun bars and welcoming rooms. Getting offered the daily drink on check-in was a great treat. The rooms are clean and spacious - the murals are stunning and sexy, created by a local photographer using local models. Baskets of munchies, a well-stocked bar and keurig coffee machines make you feel at home! The gym was spotless and had plenty of cardio equipment for a nice morning workout. There are plenty of places to visit nearby - the location is close to the Public Market, Harley Museum and more. All staff - from valet to check-in to housekeeping to the restaurant/bars - were friendly and helpful. This was my third time staying in Milwaukee - no doubt if I return, I will want to come back here!
Super cool hotel. spent three nights here had a great time. I would love to go back
The staff, the location, and layout of the iron horse hotel are all fantastic. I love going there to finish out the night with drinks.
The drinks were incredible, as was the service from out server and bartender
Special hotel! Very pleased with the location, the rooms and the outdoor area in particular
Such a beautiful place! Industrial asthetics, accommodating staff and wonderful experience overall. I would definitely go back.
Very cool architecture. Didn't appreciate the nude photos though.
Perfect location. Easy walk to many foodie places, Third Ward shopping. Craft brews and distillery.
Atmosphere in the lobby is very cool - couples massage was fantastic!
Great boutique hotel with friendly staff. Unique artwork adorn all of the rooms and the bar area is cozy after a long day.
Enjoyed drinks and dinner at the patio. Our server Angela was fabulous! Specialty drinks were delicious, a bit pricey though. Beautiful spot and view of the city on a summer night.
The Yard at the Iron Horse is probably the coolest outdoor space to hang out in downtown MKE. Great atmosphere, great service, and delicious food. A must see!
Loved the outdoor patio. It was very relaxing. Cheese curds were bomb too! Specials were okay.
This place had a great Sunday brunch. One of the few hotels that is dog-friendly. Great place to eat and amazing location.
My wife and I took a trip here for absolutely no reason at all aside from that we needed to head back into our favorite city. The term luxury hotel is thrown around pretty frequently, but everything about the Iron Horse is made to be an experience.
The complimentary drinks at check in, the amazing room decor and lighting, the view of the river, the great food and drinks...and the fact they had no issue with a bunch of friends and us playing a raucous game of Cards against Humanity in the lobby area. Thank you for a great time!

This is an awesome hotel! great rooms and great service. Great bar (and great beer!)...
One of the best hotels to stay at in Milwaukee! Beautiful setting near the Milwaukee River and next to the Harley Museum.
Long bar but, only 4 bartenders. 1 bartender was for servers and the other three for the rest of the bar. Took about 20 mins to get drinks.
Bartenders were great and the beer selection was pretty good, too. The pool cues need some attention but we still had a great time!
I was here for a birthday party. I did not stay in any of the rooms.
The lobby is beautiful, if a bit hipster-- that appears to the the trend for this part of Milwaukee. Personally I'm over steampunk and Edison bulbs.
The reception hall the party was in also beautiful, which was surprising as it was in the basement with a low ceiling. They used string lights, accent lighting, and other tricks to make the most of the space.
All of the staff I interacted with was friendly and helpful.
The hotel provided food for the event. They had the usual snacks-- meat cheese and vegetable trays, in addition to pita and hummus. They also had sliders as an entree. Almost everything was above average quality. I did not try the veggie sliders and the beef ones tasted like a cafeteria burger, but the pulled pork ones were excellent, as were the hummus and the cured meats.
I do not believe there is much on side parking but it appears they did not charge for valet parking, at least for this event.
My experience here was good.
Nice environment, good cocktails. I have been there twice, once for cocktails with friends and the second time for a professional social gathering. Both times service was good.
Recommended by train passenger .
Host was awesome , gave me a heads up on the 2 different dinning prices.i chose the bar food. Awesome bartender coke tasted off but was fixed immeaditly prime rib sandwiche was awesome priced out under 18 enjoyed every minute there definitely will go back next time through.
