2nd time back here and we ll be back more. This place is fantastic and the food and staff are amazing.
One of the absolute best places to stay. Above and beyond exceptional service and are there to please.
Here right now for the 11th anniversary party on the patio. Great music, fun crowd, surprise belly dancers!!
I have personally never stayed at the hotel itself, but I had a friend who said that rooms are around $200/night. That aside, I have gotten drinks and appetizers there, and they have some of THE BEST cheese curds in the state. Honestly, I wish I had a picture because they are MASSIVE!
The location is easy to get to and close to bars, restaurants and The Third Ward. The rooms are beautiful, well kept and full of character.
Nice food. Hotel is unique with strong service. Area around hotel is not walkable and a little sketchy.
Great venue. Rooms are very nice and spacious. Building is great. The bars and restaurants on site are top notch.
Went to mother's day brunch. Food was excellent with a good selection of breakfast and lunch options, and waitress was on top of everything.
A group of 4 of us went to Smyth for brunch which had absolutely exceeded expectations. The atmosphere of the restaurant was very nice and rustic. The buffet was upkept and very good. And the service was on point. I would recommend this brunch to anyone.
Great place to grab a drink with friends if you're local and definitely one of the best hotels to stay at if you are visiting.
The hotel was beautiful and the brunch was delicious and worth the price! The downside was we called for early check in to get ready for a wedding (the reason we were staying) and we were given the okay prior to our arrival. When we checked in, however, our room was not ready and the only offer was to downgrade our room and not be compensated the difference or to get ready in the basement bathroom and when we were finished they'd hold our bags. Not wanting to miss out on our upgraded room we chose the latter. We also thought we chose a package that included parking only to find out later that we still had to pay the additional $30 parking for the night.
Great hotel. Great get away spot. Iron horse does it right.
This is without a doubt the nicest hotel in Milwaukee. Rooms are a little pricey compared to local hotels, but you're in walking distance to the Harley Davidson Museum and they have a great little patio bar that is perfect for summer evening drinks.
We did not use their valet service because street parking was available, but their parking staff was super helpful in getting us information to register our car with the city for the night to ensure it didn't get towed. Overall we were very impressed with their level of care and the aesthetics of the hotel.
The Iron Horse is a great, modern hotel. The interior is beautiful. The rooms have an industrial modern style complete with exposed duct work, a wood table and bench, a hide bench, and a photo mural on the wall. The Egyptian cotton sheets are ridiculously soft. Combined with the pillow top mattress and feather pillows it's easy to get a great night's sleep. The shower has translucent glass and is exposed into the room. It was an oversized tiled shower complete with a rainfall head and a hand held shower head. Overall the Iron Horse is a great hotel in a great location with a great view of the river and city.
The Iron Horse Hotel is simply amazing. My wife and I have been staying at the Iron Horse for years now. We've spent Birthdays, Anniversaries, Summerfest trips and even a weekend with our kids here for a Brewers game. The place is absolutely top notch. Service has always been amazing and anything we've requested has been taken care of. In my eyes the Iron Horse is just as much a piece of art, as it is a hotel. Not only is the place appealing to the eye, it caters to the other senses as well. Im not sure what the aroma is open entering, but it puts me into relaxed and welcoming mood every time I arrive. The place just "feels" comfortable. The soothing sound of the evening beats, and the warmth of this place just work on all levels. I believe we have stayed in every type of room offered and none disappoint. The beds are great, the showers are AMAZING and the eclectic feel and look of each room is done right. Not to much, not to little, just spot on. If you are visiting Milwaukee for any length of time I could not recommend the Iron Horse more. This is the place folks, well done Iron Horse.
Friendly staff, wonderful restaurant, and luxurious rooms. I was fortunate enough to be upgraded and the suite was incredibly lux. Loved the vibe and wish I could have stayed longer. (Late checkout at midday was a dream)
Atmosphere is very nice and staff were friendly; room was nice and bathroom was great. Rates are a little high for what you get. Motorcycle parking was nice but not clearly marked so cars park there instead. A few changes and this place could be great!
I have now been to Iron Horse twice and will never return. First time had a very RUDE waiter and thought their drinks were over-priced. I decided to give it one more try. My sister came to visit me and I thought it would be nice to sit on their patio for a couple drinks. We were both alarmed by our bill! They charged $12 dollars for a shot glass size of Sambuca. With their location right in the warehouse/industry district of Milwaukee it was super noisy with the trains going by. This place is over-rated and over-priced! There are a lot better venues and patio's in Milwaukee.
Very hip place in a hip part of town. Artwork in rooms could be more refined than a giant mural. Contemporary, sexualized women on the keys were questionable. The mini bar was ridiculously overbearing; snacks falling out of a basket, hoping you'll cave in. Be sure your self control is in check before checking in. But the shower is great and we didn't hear much hallway or neighbor noise.
Great atmosphere and service. Fantastic food. Nearby train tracks and construction were occasionally distracting.
Great patio. Excellent happy hour specials. Food was average. Cute lobby area and nice staff.
Starting with the front desk, they were friendly and welcoming. I recommend this hotel.
Elegant rustic style. Modern and upscale feel. Personal happy curtious wait staff and great food.
A bit pricey but great Milwaukee hotel full of history. FYI parking isn't free
Dog friendly patio, beautiful hotel, live music, and great drinks.
Spectacular stay. The hotel is absolutely beautiful, and the staff are exceptional. Everyone went above and beyond to make you feel welcomed, they listened attentively, and worked hard to make the stay pleasant!
The room was stunning. Immaculate cleanliness, the bed was incredibly comfortable. They had heavy curtains over the window that you can close and completely block out the light. The shower was so nice, big and with a wonderful showerhead. I have allergies so I was worried about a pet-friendly hotel, but you can't smell anything in the rooms, and I never once saw an animal hair!
The restaurant and bar are pricey, but excellent. And for the atmosphere, well worth the price. Try the bouillabaisse at Smyth; you won't regret it.
I like the bikes in the display. It is nice because of the pool table also.
Stayed here 4 times. Great atmosphere, music, food, bar. Lock your car and take your bikes in. Need more USB ports in rooms.
Gorgeous hotel, comfy beds, cool bar and lounge. A must stay for sure if in the area
The restrooms in the common areas were highly functional, and the lighting in the foyer was more than adequate. The weather was also quite lovely.
their bar area on the patio is so beautiful. fireplaces and couches to help relax n just a lovely landscape too. service is friendly and fast. just prices are kinda high
The service at Smyth was wonderful and the atmosphere was casual but sexy. The food, although pretty eclectic, was delicious.
Very nice installations, great customer service. Food at restaurant was awesome!!!
Loved the pool table by the bar as well as the location and atmosphere of bar area. Fun place to be, I will definitely be back!!
When you first arrive you will realize how amazing this place is. This was my first stay here and I will be back with my wife and two kids. The staff (Cash) was amazing and was more than helpful. All the girls at the front desk were very friendly always smiling and very helpful. Loved the Thursday night bike night. We sat outside listened to the band and watched bikes come in and out. The decor on the interior of the iron horse was breathtaking. Valet was perfect.
I came here to take Prom pictures. Employees were really nice, the lobby looks amazing too.
Unique decor, fascinating history, friendly employees and luxurious surroundings.
delivered a pizza to one of the rooms. room seemed lovely with lots of brick and modern decor. lobby and bar are very welcoming.
One of my favorite places to relax for a few drinks in the city. An environment like none other, but uniquely Milwaukee.
Slightly gross outside, but server tended to it quickly. Food was decent, drink list was varied with good selections.
MFCKERS! Stole an expensive FXLR Harley leather $$$ riding jacket from the closet! When you travel from country to country you really know your limited inventory of clothes! TAKE CARE OF YOUR STUFF!!!
One of our most memorable places in Milwaukee. Dog friendly which is a plus. Awesome bar - inside and out!
Beautiful hotel. If you want to relax outside, check out the patio. Good beer selections and good food. Very close to the Harley Davidson museum.
Awesome hotel. When for a weekend getaway. The decor is amazing. The loft room was huge. The bed was super comfortable. I will definitely stay again.
Went to a Prohibition Party. It was incredible. Nice pool table. Great beverages and entertainment.
Ate dinner here great service and food was fantastic Will definitely be back
Love the decor of the entire hotel, and the rooms are so nice! Good food, good service. I'll definitely be back!
Very swanky hotel. Was greeted with a free cocktail upon arrival and the room was really nice. Staff were supet helpful and friendly.
Loved the place itself, loved the hotel staff, but the wait staff left a lot to be desired. A LOT. Don't expect to be paid much attention to, regardless of how much you're spending.
My friend and I stopped in on a Friday night. There was live music, and the act was incredible. The service was outstanding and the staff were professional and friendly. I'm looking forward to my next visit!
Food was not good. Very upscale for no reason. Way too suddity for us and we fine dine occasionally. Service was mediocre as well. Will never go back. Drinks were great however. But this restaurant does not have a menu to attract a diverse group of people.
Stayed for one night, a Saturday. We did a two queen room since a king room wasn't available. Ordered food in for a late dinner (had a late lunch after getting in), which a bad grilled cheese but great cheese curds. Fries were too spicy for my taste. Sour cream pancakes for breakfast were great and she liked the egg sandwich. Service was great both times and on checkout. Room views are okay. Located within walking distance of bars and some food (try The Noble, it was fantastic), but easy driving to Milwaukee attractions. We'll probably stay here again in a couple months for a wedding.
Just had dinner in the bar. We tried the cheese curds and they are the authentic real deal with batter dipped gooey perfection. We enjoyed the house burger and everything was great! Thanks Iron horse.
All the good reviews is what led me to book here And they did not disappoint. Wonderful check in and get service. I ordered breakfast for 9 o clock and it arrived at 8:59 AM beautiful. The food was delicious. The room was clean nice loaded mini fridge. I am definitely staying here again next time I m in Milwaukee. Thank you
As a professional businessman, I found the Iron Horse Hotel to be affordable elegance. The room appointments, as well as the amenities gave me a restful and relaxing atmosphere away from home. The staff was pleasant and helpful in all areas of the hotel. I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a boutique hotel with world class appeal.
We stayed at this hotel last weekend and were blown away by a lot of the features, but dismayed by a few as well.
Pros:
The hotel lobby was awesome! Really loved the architecture, decor and bartenders. Valet parking is a handy amenity (for $30 extra per night) as well.
The rooms were very modern, with an industrial feel to them yet very cozy.
Bartenders were knowledgeable and friendly.
Location was far enough from downtown to feel private, yet close enough to be within a mile or two from almost anything you could want.
Cons:
The beds - Not sure who was in charge of pillows, but they were without a doubt the worst hotel pillows I've ever seen. Three out of the Four pillows were only half-size. Almost more of a decorative square throw pillow than a sleeping pillow, yet they were in a full sized pillow case? Like sleeping with a half-filled sack of potatoes under my head. The fourth pillow was actually a standard size (weird).
The shower - Was fine for the first couple evenings, but was very disappointed to discover that their water heaters simply cannot handle the guest demand. I woke up on Sunday morning to NO hot water at all. I had an ice cold shower that morning, as well as the other three people in my group. I expected better from such a highly rated hotel.
The housekeeping - Was poor. I had to call them myself to get them to make the beds and bring fresh towels. If I hadn't called them that night, I don't believe they would have bothered with us at all. Equally disappointing, the housekeeping clearly tossed the clean towels onto the shelf in the shower, knocking over my shaving cream and shattering the plastic across the shower floor. Rather than clean it up, they left large shards of jagged plastic strewn across the shower floor. Accidents happen, but at least pick up the pieces.
Verdict: All in all, a cool place and a fun experience. But the housekeeping and general maintenance could stand to step up their game a bit, especially for an establishment such as this. 4 stars.
The rooms are great. Not happy with the bar service - slow with overpriced drinks/food.
The rooms are awesome and the decor rocks! We had a nice time sitting on the patio in the summer!
My favorite hotel in Milwaukee, great setting, vibe and service.
Stayed here February 2014. AWSOME AWESOME AWESOME. As a motorcycle enthusiast this hotel is worth more than just 5 stars. Soon as we walked in we were given complimentary drinks while our luggage was brought to our room. The room was very clean and comfortable. The service was exceptional at every location in the facility. The food in both their bar and restaurants are great! Had the Fish Tacos for lunch at the bar, they are definitely in the top 2 for best fish tacos I have had. I had a steak dinner in the restaurant for later that night and it was prepared perfectly. They have a great drink selections and their bartenders know how to make a great drink. We will be back here on the Motorcycle very soon!
Upscale with a good specialty drink selection. Sunday Brunch is fantastic too. Looking forward to checking out the remodeled patio (which was fine before).
I was at the Iron Horse Hotel for a work meeting and it was a very nice hotel with an awesome industrial decor. Service was very good and overall had a great experience.
Love the atmosphere in the Yard, Sunday's music is great....
Such a wonderful and gorgeous hotels, love the he exposed brick and wood beams.. very close to everything and deffently loved the brunch on Sunday
Awesome, trendy hotel. Everything about the place from rooms to food to service is great!
Unique place. Interesting to look around. Summer Sunday cocktails on patio!
Great atmosphere. Creative takes on brunch staples. Excellent service.
Outdoor lounge area is awesome! Great place to hang out and relax!
Delicious food, but beware the small portions! The sides are average sized, and the entrees are beautiful to the eye and the tongue but much smaller
This place was Americana vintage and I loved it! The bartenders really knew their stuff and the cocktails were delicious!
