The decor of the hotel is very nice. It has a very modern industrial style that flows throughout the hotel, but that was the only real bonus to staying there. First of all, the hotel is literally right on an active train track. The tracks run right along the backside of the hotel. We were on the 5th floor so the noise was below us which helped some (although you still clearly hear it & the hotel does shake if the train stops...and it does stop). I cant imagine how loud it would be if you were on the first or second floors. They do provide ear plugs, but when you pay over $300 for a single night stay I dont expect to be in a room that requires me to wear ear plugs. One of our pillows had dirt on it, and the sheet on our bed was torn and dirty in one spot. We also had flies in our room which was annoying, and then when we went down to the bar to eat there were about 5 or 6 more flies circling our table as we ate. Our food was good, but overpriced for what you got. If you want a bottled water from the fridge in your room that will be $4, a candy bar $2.50, some popcorn $6. Oh and they do not provide free parking. You either pay $25 a night for the valet service or you park on the street and risk receiving a ticket. Overall we were disappointed based on the price we paid for the room, and on our next trip to Milwaukee we will not be staying at the Iron Horse.

Cool boutique hotel, has a clean vintage decor, very friendly staff, and good amenities. Bar and restaurant are on site if you don t want to leave, however there are just a few places to grab food or drinks right around the immediate area, but overall not a really walkable location. The hotel itself is very comfortable and has a grown up feel, great for the business traveler.

I've never left a poor review for a hotel before, but this place had every chance to make things right and failed. The worst was the noise. I could hear every word that was spoken in the room next to us. It seems as though they never sealed the new walls to the old brick walls and noise passes right through the gap. So we went to the front desk for earplugs (which were supposed to be in the room) and they had none, but said they'd try to find some. They never even called us to let us know they didn't find any. There was mold in the shower, stains on the furniture, and finger prints everywhere. Service in the bar was slow and expensive. Upon check out i mentioned what a terrible night it was. The guy said sorry and that was it. I also gave him the nail that fell out of the wall when i opened the curtains...nothing. So we cancelled our brunch reservations and walked out. For $300 a night you can do better.

Great food. Service was way too attentive. Someone came around every few seconds to ask us if every thing was good, do we need anything. We had to leave to finish our conversations because we were interrupted so much.

Always great. Its our fave place to bring our pooch when we visit every year. Spacious rooms and fully stocked beverage and snack options. Fantastic views of the city. Parking is hit or miss. There is a pay garage. Lots to walk to in the up'n'coming warehouse district. Gorgeous city!!!

The staff is top notch. Try it once, you'll love it! Worth it.

We went here for NYE- not only did they not pass around small glasses of champagne for the midnight toast (which they have done in past years) they set up a side bar selling glasses for $20 a piece. We will not be going back next year

We were in town for Summerfest to see Tom Petty. First stay at Iron Horse, so glad we did! What a cool hotel. Loved the design of the rooms, even the bar tables are cool! Great service, clean, friendly, well worth it. Will be the only place we stay from now on when in Milwaukee.

Open Table led us to believe the primary restaurant at the Iron Horse Hotel, Ash, would be open for lunch. Instead, Ash was closed and after spending $8.00 for parking, we simply dined at the Branded bar, opposite the restaurant, instead.

This bar was a hang out of mine during the years I lived in Milwaukee, but I just called it the bar at Iron Horse. The hotel was "ground breaking" in its genesis, opening up in an area with absolutely nothing around it. The Fifth Ward was primarily an area of run down warehouses when the Iron Horse Hotel opened in 2005. Now the hotel is surrounded by condo developments, micro breweries, and hipster restaurants.

It hasn't changed in 14 years, and it is still very cool. The bar food is good, barkeeps friendly, and it still attracts an eclectic and trendy clientele. I do miss being recognized and treated like a VIP like in the old days, but not everything stays the same. I live in Utah now, and I'm just a well dressed stranger having lunch and a cocktail at a hotel in Milwaukee. Time doesn't stand still.

Very nice, new hotel, but rooms are relatively loud, and bathrooms have a glass wall. Very neat, but means you can't turn on the bathroom light without waking everyone up. No real bathroom privacy.

A little while ago I spoke with XXX in reservations.
I tried to book our valentine stay over night with the in room candlelight dinner package but your website did not work. I entered all the information. So I called reservations , where customer service was not the best. I was being asked to call different numbers to add the package. There was no attempt to make sure I was getting what I wanted.
I was trying to make our anniversary arrangements and had heard a lot of good things about your hotel. The conversation was not at all professional and had a lot of rough edges to it. I expected a little more polish. None the less -it was disappointing. Will not be calling on you again.

There's not enough words to explain the phenomenal experience we had here. I had surprised my wife with the corner alcove king room for her birthday. We walked in and they had happy birthday written on the floor, a complimentary bottle of sparkling wine for us to share along with chocolates. We had a great view of the city, the bathroom is awesome, bed was extremely comfortable. Put it this way, we never wanted to leave. We have never had such amazing service coming from such genuine people. Don't second guess yourself with choosing this place, it's beyond worth it.

After my wife Jessica left I had been without the touch of another for quite a while and after being lonely for too long I had to make arrangements.

Although the experience did not fulfill what my wife had once given me the staff was very friendly, rooms very clean, and complimentary breakfast delicious. 10/10

I love the Iron Horse Hotel. The atmosphere that they have created with their decorations and designs are perfectly aligned throughout the bar, restaurants, rooms and other areas. We had our wedding at the Iron Horse and were blown away by the service we received and by the entire experience. All of our friends still talk about the wedding as the best they've ever been to. The restaurants and bar are delicious and unique. The dishes change from season to season it seems and it's always creative. All around this is one of the best places in Milwaukee.
