Irion Lumber is now my go-to one stop shop for the times I need a matched tabletop, or set of boards for my high end projects. As a long time furniture designer-maker, I've had lots of sources, but Myron Yoder and Irion have proved to be the best for quality and value.
The walnut slabs I ordered from Irion Lumber came on time (very quickly) and they were bundled in scrap lumber and banded very securely. The grain in the slabs was even better in person than on their website. I won t hesitate to order more lumber from Irion Lumber when a job calls for special wood!
I have ordered wood three times from Irion. Each time it was a pleasure to deal with them on the phone and the lumber received was exactly as advertised. If you can't find what you want locally (like me) then Irion is the place to go.
Irion Lumber is the best lumber mill I have ever used. They carry top quality figured and plain material in a variety of different species and thicknesses. Myron, is the nicest guy I have ever met and is super accommodating to all of his customers. Their prices are very reasonable and the quality of their lumber is top notch. Maybe that is the reason so many craftsman have their lumber shipped across the country. When you find a business that goes the extra mile for their customers you definitely want to support that business. Always a pleasure doing business with these guys.
I have been purchasing lumber from Irion for the last 10 years. The variety and quality is excellent. Myron is very helpful and accommodating. Wish it was closer to my home, I drive 5 hours one way to pick out the stock.

It's a little nerve wracking picking out a set of lumber online and living hundreds of miles away. This was an amazing set I ordered and I couldn't have been happier in the quality delivered. I first ordered a set for a 12 ft dining table, pictured below, and then recently purchased 60 bdft of tiger maple not in a set. The quality of both orders were great and far better than I could have expected. Will definitely order again!
Great with communication, but deceptive with there images. Three of the boards had good size holes in them, two of them are mostly unusable as boards because of the holes. I would advise them to take photos of these spots. Update: They did reach out and helped to compensate.
These guys are great in every way. They know their material, they send out excellent quality lumber and have top customer service. And the prices are very much in line with the quality, so the value is always there.
I don't often buy really good looking exotic wood, but when I do I buy it from Irion.
Spectacular figured high-quality hardwoods, sold in sets/flitches so you can be sure that the grain and color will be consistent across all the pieces you use it on. They post pictures of all their lumber sets on their website so you can see what you're buying. Shipping costs are very reasonable. Very easy to do business with!

Irion lumber is, in my opinion, the best and most professional premium lumber supplier in the east coast, if not the entire USA. I build artful and high end furniture pieces using lots of curly cherry along with figured maple and flame birch. I buy cherry exclusively from Irion Lumber because of their quality and their attention to meeting my specific needs. I live about 8 hours away so do not visit the yard to pick my stock. I have used their web site to select curly cherry sets and flame birch slabs, so I was able to see exactly what I was getting, but most often I send in an order by email for regular cherry stock. I trust I will receive quality materials and not something picked over that others do not want. Over many years, I have always received quality material which has minimal or no sap wood and therefor I have almost no waste. I often include specify requests in my order for an individual curly piece of certain size to match pictures I find on their web site, and they do accommodate. I highly recommend Irion Lumber as I simply cannot say enough good things about them.

Irion Lumber is always my first choice for fine hardwood lumber for both shop and architectural projects. First, they are all top shelf people whose word is gold. Second, they have a proven track record of not overstating what the product is and how good or rare it is. Third, there are not a lot of places I can go to select sets of matched lumber at fair prices without any B.S. I can call and talk to them about exactly what I have going on and they will help steer me in the right direction. I recently purchased a little under 100 Bf of matched cherry from Irion. I ordered the wood on a Monday and it was shipped on Tuesday. I received it on Friday. I was surprised at how quickly it arrived. When i checked the shipment, two of the boards had checks that looked fresh. I made a claim with the carrier and also notified Myron at Irion. Myron's response was a case study in superior customer service....essentially his question to me was: "What can I do to make this right?" I do not believe that Irion shipped the lumbar with the checks and believe that it was damaged in shipment. I was able to work around the checks and didn't feel the need seek any replacement material. The lumbar I did receive was amazing. I will be sure to do business with Myron again.

Top quality supplier of hardwoods. I've bought several large curly cherry and walnut slabs from Irion to make dining and coffee tables. They offer thicker slabs of 8/4 - 12/4. FedEx freight shipping if fast and reasonably priced considering the size and weight of the wood. Highly recommend.

Irion frequently has the most beautiful figured hardwoods I have ever seen or worked with. Their service is excellent and after ordering over a dozen different sets, every one has exceeded my expectations on quality and beauty. The only negative issue I have had is shipper damage which overall has been relatively minor overall.
