I build artful and high end furniture pieces using lots of curly cherry along with figured maple and flame birch. I buy cherry exclusively from Irion Lumber because of their quality and their attention to meeting my specific needs. I live about 8 hours away so do not visit the yard to pick my stock. I have used their web site to select curly cherry sets and flame birch slabs, so I was able to see exactly what I was getting, but most often I send in an order by email for regular cherry stock. I trust I will receive quality materials and not something picked over that others do not want. Over many years, I have always received quality material which has minimal or no sap wood and therefor I have almost no waste. I often include specify requests in my order for an individual curly piece of certain size to match pictures I find on their web site, and they do accommodate. I highly recommend Irion Lumber as I simply cannot say enough good things about them.
