I was so happy to see the golden gate bridge up close. It wasn't that big as I thought but still nice. U can walk across the bridge, park your car . When driving over make sure you pay the toll fee. Yeah it's a toll fee.

Picturesque structure. The bridge is very long and very tall. The red color presents a clear contrast with the ocean and hills in the background. Altogether it is a stunning beautiful structure. This bridge is not only a transportation tool, it is an artwork in the San Francisco Bay. There are several viewing spots near both ends of the bridge, which draw thousands of visitors a day.
Very beautiful, it's incredible and very interested and if you don't book any tour it's gladly all free! There are many places to have a great view on the bridge. Very beautiful.
Beautiful bridge and park. Need more parking. Absolute nonsense that the state is spending tax dollars to prevent people from jumping to their death from the bridge. Spend the money on the horrible roads in s.f. instead.
Beautiful landmark and an icon of San Francisco. Bridge crossing is free by foot but cars are required to pay the toll. Don't forget to bring a jacket! It gets very cold and windy on the bridge
This was on my bucket list. "Walk across the Golden Gate Bridge" of course I Had to walk back!!! I think that counts for twice. It was a beautiful day!!
Definitely a must see! You will be amazed at how beautiful it is. The GG bridge is surrounded by a park like setting, and the views with he water are amazing! It gets a little windy, so don't forget your jacket.
An absolutely incredible piece of civil engineering. The bridge is just gorgeous. Well worth a walk or bike ride across for beautiful views of San Francisco, the Bay, and the Pacific Ocean.
This is an amazing piece of engineering which can only be felt by walking across it. The winds give an idea how stable it is and the constant traffic only enforces the view. We walked from the North vista point underneath and then over the bridge to the South Side. Cyclists, runners and other sports enthusiasts constantly use it so be careful while walking. Surfers below at the South end add to the panorama.
The site was spectacular, I just didn't like that when we got to the toll there was no where for us to pay, it said to keep going, yet we got a bill in the mail stating that it was a violation. When I called, the girl said that I should have gotten a bill first, and if I did not pay then I get a violation. But I got a violation before a bill. Other than that I really enjoyed going over the bridge.
It is truly a spectacle sight and one that left me in amazement, even after seeing it on countless movies, shows and across the internet. This is an absolute must for any visit to San Francisco. Towards the Sausalito end are public restrooms and back toward the Presidio District are more cafes as well as the "spots" to take photos of this Wonder of the World.
Fantastic, a must visit site for anyone who visits San Francisco. Other than walking on the bridge, enjoyed the history as told by the historical exhibits in the park itself. The engineering aspects were also learned by manipulating the models on forces, pressure and strength.
What a fun place for a stroll and fresh air during the visit to San Francisco. Definitely one of my favorite places for the views, the making, and the pure enjoyment of being there.
It costs $6.50 - $7.50 to get across by car. There is usually less traffic on this bridge than the other bridges towards the South and East. This bridge has nice pedestrian sidewalks on both sides of the bridge.
So cool! There were whales in the water as well as dolphins. The views were beautiful, watching the fog lift away from around the water and bridge when we first arrived in the early morning was neat. Alcatraz is fun to see! Walking thru the visitors center and learning how it was built, the time it took and the technological advances at that time is astounding. Pretty neat walking up and down the bridge. Clean facilities.
Great landmark. Try and go on a clear day and you will love the sight. One can crossover under the bridge from Vista point to an area where you get great shots of the bridge and the bay.
There is nothing more iconic to see in San Francisco. Truly stunning. The many trails and vantage points around Golden Gate Recreation Area offer excellent hiking, biking and photo opportunities.
To see the bridge and the historic gun placement batteries, the footpaths were well maintained. There was plenty of people around enjoying the day but not so much as to be crowded. Perfect place to see the bay from many vantage point from the SF side of the bay from high and low elevations. Great couple hours walking around and reading information boards.
Great place to visit. Beautiful vistas and picnic opportunity... Just don't understand why it's more famous than the Bay Bridge which is older longer and a double decker. Guess that's why they call it the jealous older brother...
Always a wonderful place with fantastic views from every direction. SF is wonderful. Grew up in the South Bay and this place never gets old. Lots of traffic at certain times and on weekends but if you plan right you can visit easily without too much hassle. Highky recommended for any traveler.
There's a charge of five bucks to park at south vista point but the bridge photo op is a little more than 800 feet from parking. The parking lot was a tight squeeze. Tripsavvy has some tips on where to find more parking if the lot is full. The restrooms were open and clean
Spectacular especially on a clear sunny day. A true sight to behold at sunset. Parking is easily found and the visitors centre has every amenity at hands reach for visitors.
Amazing views and photo opportunities close to sunset but make sure to take a jacket as it gets very cold, public busses run to and from location regularly
Love our road trips to San Francisco. Each visit I learn something new. There is always some place new & interesting to see. If I had to move out of LA San Francisco is where I would move to. I like the city hustling bustling to try to get from point A to point B reminds me of NY. I like the city fast pace environment yet, it still offer areas where traffic is calm and you can relax from all the city noise & tourism. I always rent bikes and ride around for a couple hours on the bridge. What I don t like is the lack of parking. Man, finding Park is ridiculous exhausting.
The view is beautiful on clear day. The walkway makes the walk more than worth the trek. Take a picture of your partner holding one of the cables. That will provide some perspective to the enormity of the structure.
Of course, a must-see. There are views literally from all sides. The ferries to Alcatraz and Angel Island, but the best ones from Sausalito (which is free, if you get there).
One of the longest suspension bridges in the world. It's better to walk across than trying to find a parking spot on either side of the bridge. This place is the very definition of a tourist spot. A must visit place when visiting San Francisco, especially during sunset.
This is a good place to take a walk and feel the breeze and yea it s a fun place so go when you are at San Francisco is feels so good when you go on it
Golden Gate Bridge is an architectural marvel and a spectacular sight for any tourist! The bridge is as fascinating as the roads of San Francisco! A must see place for anyone visiting the west coast of America.
Whenever I visit a new place or a new city, I look for the local map to find out where it is best to visit, including public places such as parks, streets, buildings and natural sites such as beaches, rivers and lakes. . In the city of San Francisco, the place that everyone must visit is an icon of world tourism, which is the Golden Gate Bridge, which connects the city of San Francisco with California's Marin County over the entrance of the bay of San Francisco. This mile-long bridge (1.6km ) was started in 1933 for a long period of construction that ended in 1937. The bridge was built with a suspended steel structure, all painted red and carries the US route 101 and the California State route, and is one of the most internationally recognized symbols of San Francisco, California, and the United States. It has been declared one of the wonders of the modern world by the American Society of Civil Engineers.
This incredible bridge took me by storm the first time I drove over it. It was my first time to visiting San Francisco and crossing this majestic structure was awe inspiring. The lanes are a little bit narrow and scary but the views are worth it. Such an iconic structure!
Visiting the world famous Golden Gate Bridge is a unique experience for everyone. Whether you hike, walk, bike, shop, take a guided tour, or just sit back and take it all in, there is something for everyone.
The symbol of San Francisco. The Bridge is impressive. Getting close to the bridge becomes more and more impressive. It is worth renting a bike and riding to the other side. It can get really windy up there. It can also get crowded. Must visit when in San Francisco
If you wish to see the whole bridge, try to not go in the morning because the fog will upstruct your view. I suggest walking across it because it's very impressive in person.
What a spectacular piece of American engineering! The views from the North side are priceless, photos don't do it justice. San Fran put on her best weather despite the Icelandic winds.
This was my first time went to Golden Gate Bridge, which was super awesome! First we went to Sausalito from SF by ferry, then reached to Golden Gate Bridge by bus. We didn't rent the bikes (we should next time), so we walked across the bridge all the way back to SF.
