It is a beautiful and iconic place in San Francisco, California, it really is imposing, very beautiful and picturesque, it links the San Francisco peninsula to the north with the south of Marin County, near Sausalito. It is used for passing as road, pedestrian and bicycle. Its construction began in 1933 but to this day it is surprising to look at. It is a total symbol of San Francisco, you must know it! recommended

The Golden Gate Bridge is one of my favorite places. It has an excellent view from either side, whether enjoying the skyline of San Francisco or looking out toward the ocean, hoping to get a glimpse of the Farallons. What I love most though is watching pelicans swoop, dive and play over the bridge towers. Overall, its just a special place.

I've always wanted to go to the Golden Gate Bridge and today it happened. I'm visiting family and my husband and I drove across the bridge and parked. We got out of the car and enjoyed the beautiful view. If you are ever in San Francisco or near the area the bridge is a MUST SEE. We drove an hour to go and see and it was worth the drive.

I recently visited the bridge again this time walking across the bridge. Getting to the parking lot after coming off the freeway was the only complicated part dues to a road block. Once we navigated our way around that we were back on track. The parking lot was not full. (A tip about parking) it's very windy so beware of accidental door dings and what not. The parking lot has great potential as well for great photos even before you get to the bridge. For me walking the bridge was exhilarating. We went on an absolutely clear day. You could see Fort Baker, Treasure Island, Alcatraz, Sausalito Bay and the Bay Bridge clearly. At times it was windy but there were times when there was no wind and it felt exhilarating. This day only one side was open to the public. You had bikes coming and going. Everyone was able to navigate around each nicely. Riders used their bells to alert of passing by. Walking across the bridge was fantastic and it left me with amazing energy when it was over. I'm so glad I had this opportunity. I got very lucky with the clear day. Everything looks beautiful from the bridge

Always wanted to go here and it s even more beautiful in real life. It was about -20 degrees on the bridge so you need to bring out your nicest and warmest jacket if you plan to walk the whole bridge.

Nice

We walked halfway down the bridge and the scenery was great from all angles! We have had a wonderful time here. There are different landscape points on both sides of the bridge and the bridge. It is worth it in every way. Really an engineering miracle!

What can I say about the golden gate bridge that you haven't seen in pictures or documentaries, other than it's much more spectacular in person. It's really a must see both day and night. It's a great bucket list pick.

Incredible views during a clear sky, which can be infrequent unfortunately. Would highly recommend taking the drive down to horseshoe bay. Great views without the crowding of the other sight-seeing spots you will find minutely closer to the actual bay itself.

Awesome place on earth. A man built bridge must watch in your lifetime. Suggest for bike ride and I used Uber bike to visit this bridge. Fog was filled over the bridge and I didn t miss to see one piece of the bridge. Nice view of Alcatraz jail and best photo shots to be taken from this place

The Bridge connects San Francisco to California's northern counties. With its tremendous 746-foot tall towers, sweeping main cables, signature International Orange color, and Art Deco styling, it is a sensory experience featuring color, light, and sound. With more than 10 million annual visitors, be ready for crowds (especially during the summer) and changing weather conditions.

They have a gift shop and a little walking area nearby. You can go on the bridge walking but not without hearing those cars, buses, and trucks drive by going 60mph. It is pretty nice though being up close to it but you can only be on one side of it from the San Francisco side unless you walk all the way to the other side.

Architectural Marvel's of the world. The bridge connects San Fransisco Bay and Pacific Ocean. Despite of lot of traffic, there is separate lane for cyclist and pedestrians. There is souvenir store near bridge and near coastline with restrooms and cafeteria. However, cafeteria closes at 4 PM.

It was absolutely beautiful. The view was gorgeous and watching the sail boats and the people parasailing on the water amazing. I highly recommend not just driving over the bridge but parking and walking across it as well.

Iconic magnificent and beautiful. The Golden gate Vistapoint is one of the best place to see Golden gate. If you are lucky enough and the weather is nice you can see the clear blue sky and the red magnificent bridge within it.

This bridge is unlike any other bridge. It's a place of beauty to enjoy and relax by the bridge. I promise it'll make memories of not only the bridge but maybe San Francisco itself. Trust me, the experience of the Golden Gate Bridge will be unforgettable.

Best time to walk the bridge is on a clear day and with good walking shoes. It take roughly 15-30 minutes to cross depending on how fast your feet will take you. IMPORTANT Note: Taxi cars will often refuse to drive you back into San Francisco because of the bridge toll and city outer limits issue. You always have the option to rent a bike if your not interested in walking.

Drive on the northbound is free of charge. You can also stop right after crossing the bridge to take a good picture overlooking the bridge.
Watchout for the weather as sometime the bridge is fully covered in clouds and you barely see the bridge and city.

Had an amazing run around golden gate, passed the cemetery, ran by the beach under the bridge and then went up to the bridge to cross over and back. My favorite thing to do when I visit SF.

The quintessential San Francisco tourist attraction. A walk across the bridge on a sunny day is a must! The visitor center on the SF side is easily accessible via public transit. The walk itself is pretty easy, there are no major uphill walks involved. The traffic noise can be loud at times, but well worth it. The visitor center on the Marin side that has some good look-off points and decent public restrooms.

This place was always my dream vacation spot. Even as a young child, this place was the place I always wanted to go to. In person, it is much more beautiful than the photos give it credit for. I really believe this is the most beautiful place on planet earth.

I use the bridge whenever I need to go to Marin and North of the City and am always fascinated by its beauty and views. Also fun to walk or bike across as long as a bit of traffic noise doesn't bother you.

Under construction but still nice. I was on the "wrong side" this time. Usually I come up and from the other side the view is nicer. This time I was coming down and there is a toll (about $6) when you come down the 101 but this is the last exit before paying the toll if you want to turn back. I just went through the bridge which is a nice scenic drive too if you haven't done it.

You can pay to park and you can walk or bike accross the whole bridge. It was rather crowded today. (I wish that there weren't bikes, but I'm sure bikers feel the same about children.)
There is also a welcome center/gift shop and cafe. The bridge goes back to 1937 and is a beautiful wonder.

It is really nice when you see famous attraction live and it doesn't disappoint you.
It is beautiful and great organised and explained. This can be example how to handle monument/attraction fame.

One of the best bridges in the world. Breathtaking views, refreshing breeze, great place to hangout with family and friends. The bridge has a great history - this is the must visit during your visit to the West coast. Magnificent orange color stands out in the midst of the ocean. You can cover this on foot, bicycle or open buses - you will love it in all the forms.
