Every thing was great. Food, service, room. Luxurious bed, combined with a spa bath. A great way to celebrate a 89th birthday.

An excellent stay. The hotel was beautiful and well appointed, our room was well maintained and very modern, the team were all helpful and friendly, and the lounge was well priced and had a great range of cocktails.

This is a nice hotel. As close as it gets to the water, excellent staff and comfortable beds. It's seems a bit pricey for what it is, why I rated it 4 stars vs 5.

Very outdated Hotel . Needs updating. Quality of food was unfortunately not up to standard. Long waits for food to be brought out. Possibly would not stay at this hotel.

Nice hotel close to the action. I liked the toiletries and shower head options (rain shower and normal), but I was surprised by the window between the bedroom and bathroom! Make sure you know which room you're getting if you are planning on sharing with a friend!

Stayed 2 nights and loved it: room was great, spa was excellent and staff very friendly and helpful. The hotel lived up to its reputation.

Recently stated in one of the deluxe rooms, they are very nice, large and modern & the view was beautiful. The staff at the hotel were very friendly and nothing was to much trouble.

Wonderful staff.. love being called madam , makes you feel posh. I visited with my teenage daughter and caught up with friends. She loved spending time in the fitness centre and my friend s grandchildren loved swimming in the pool. We walked to Te Papa only 10 minutes away.

Countdown is a block away to get snacks to pop in the mini fridge. The hotel is located near shopping and restaurants. The breakfast buffet is 10+, excellent food. Loved the poached eggs and daily mini smoothies. The fresh fruit was delightful and yummy. Even the 6 year old was jumping for joy at the choices.

The room was clean and comfortable, bed was like sleeping on air. The pillows were comfortable. It has aircon/heat that was perfect. All the amenities were in the room.. though we didn t like the shampoo that much. They had great products in the changing room in the pool area. That was a bonus. We had an upgraded room so had been refurbished. It even included an umbrella and a walk in rain shower. My friend stayed in a non refurbished room but she still loved the room and thought the beds were very comfortable.

The staff were just delightful from the concierge, to front desk, to room service, restaurant and lobby lounge. Big shout out to Far for assisting us in the reservations. Yes the pool is open, as earlier reviews showed it closed. I just contacted reservations and they told me it was re-opened.

Also reviews said the pool area & hot pool needed updating. I can agree but it was still lovely to swim with the glass ceiling showing a view to the sky line. Even though it was summer still nice the pool was heated as it is Wellington and the hot pool was very relaxing. It seemed the hot pool had continuous flow of water through the spa pool so it felt clean.

The fitness centre has been recently upgraded with all necessary equipment with weights, cardi and a stretching area, water fountain, boxing bag, steps etc.

The hotel was filled with hands sanitizer everywhere!!! The fitness centre has wipes for the equipment. Come along and enjoy your stay. We will be back.

A hotel restaurant with the vibe of a bespoke operation

Excellent location. Modern and comfortable hotel with attentive staff.

The servicing of room was delayed until we unfriended them. Whole place is clean with friendly staff.

Nothing to write home about but decent for what's available in Wellington. Slim pickings when it comes to hotel selection in this city.

Reservation was easy, and there was a delightful young German lady at the check in counter who would brighten up anyone's morning with her positivity. We got a nice corner room with a peek-a-boo view of the water. The room was large, bright, clean, and well-ventilated (aircon but you could also open the window). The concierge was helpful (except a young man called Romeo who was in a perpetually sour mood, specially when we requested help to reserve at a restaurant - luckily his companion took care of it for us). Checkout was also a breeze.

Excellent service and highly recommend it esp that is walking distance to so many tourists attractions

Great place, great food, great service, comfortable bed, exactly what you should expect from a hotel of this calibre and price point. I've given four stars because the carpet in my room needs retensioned and I'm not a fan of the artwork on the walls. Lol.

Attended a meeting/conference and stayed overnight in a king suite 8/9/17 - 9/9/17 and was very impressed with the building but most of all the helpful friendly nature of the staff. We were greeted politely even just when passing staff in the hallway. We had lunch in the conference/meeting room area and the food was very well presented and staff were immediate in replacing empty food platters which was very efficient and organised. We also dealt with staff in reception, concierge, lounge/bar and the chameleon restaurant and was impressed everytime we had an interaction with any of the staff members. Matt in concierge was particularly helpful when we made an error parking our car. We will be back and would love to make use of the pool and fitness facilities.

The four Malaysian dishes we chose today for lunch were all simply yummy and delicious. A real taste delight!! The best Malaysian food anywhere!!

Celebrated our anniversary here recently and it was great. The room was a good size, the bed was super comfy and the bath was awesome. The movie selection was great too. The restaurant was booked out due to WOAP which was a shame as I really wanted to eat there but the room service (from the other restaurant) was good. Customer service was fantastic and we'd definitely stay again -especially in this renovated room which had a bit of a sea view.

Lovely high tea, too much food to eat in one setting so take home bags provided

Great hotel, clean and nice location, the staff is friendly and nice. You won't go wrong booking in this hotel, and the management for big groups are very accommodating.

The inter continental is actually 5 star have stayed before but this time a bit of soul was missing , is it covid? I hope it is and that it comes back . How ever still very good attentive service and top notch facilities I cant gault that

Great location. The rooms at great and the staff is extremely friendly and helpful. I'd recommend some of the local cases for breakfast as I was not too impressed with the offering they had.

A most comfortable nights sleep. Best hotel bed I've ever slept on. Great breakfast in the morning well worth the money.

Stolen jewellery.

Utterly disgusted with the honesty of the hotels cleaning team and lengths they DID NOT go to for thousands of dollars of stolen jewellery.
My wife accidentally left her ring and air rings on the vanity of the bathroom and after returning a hour later found they were gone. After loging a complaint with the police and the hotel prior to checking out, the staff did a useless job at trying to attain the stolen goods.
We will never be staying here again.

Wonderful hotel and staff. Rooms are first-class. Only hitch I can think of is parking. I recommend using valet because, believe it or not, self parking is more expensive.

Ben the maitre d' at the Chameleon restaurant, Wellington, carried through your reputation for going further than others by chasing after me into the streets with my documents that I had foolishly left behind. This type of attention is typical of you, in my experience.

My wife and I stayed for two nights, 9 & 14 March 2018. We are Platinum Ambassador members so stay in Intercontinental throughout the world.
This on is situated in a good location, within the city, good views of sea from higher floors, and a easy walk to Te Papa.
On arrival on first night, no one was available to park the car so had to drive down car park myself as there were other cars waiting behind us. I parked where I could which ended up being wrong area. One of the staff eventually parked car in correct place. There was no dedicated valet service. It was the Concierge that was having to do too many things which was cause of problem. I suggest management review this.
Check-in first night was fast and efficient. Our room upgrade was nice and we were given a bowl of fruit.
Our second night on the 14th, check-in wasn't as good and we weren't acknowledged as Platinum Ambassador members, weren't given a room upgrade, nor were we given a bowl of fruit. The room wasn't as nice and we had view of office building.
Breakfast buffet very nice and had what we required. Restaurant staff very good.

Absolutely disgusting. Chose to stay here for my wedding night. Booked in December for one night. Paid when I made the booking in December. Upon departure in march they charged my card again. I let them know straight away they double charged me and the customer service representative gave me a careless response saying "oh that will be refunded in a couple of days". Feeling exhausted, having just got married the night before, I didn't question it further. Seemed like a normal thing they did. A couple of days after, going into honeymoon mode I get an email saying they are not refunding me as I didn't check in!!!! Not only that, but when I called to clear everything up I was passed on to four different people where I had to explain the whole scenario over ten times. Not exaggerating. Then a manager came to the phone saying "who's this"not even introducing herself. I then spoke to the person who sent the email who explained they would give me a discount???? But what for. You charged us twice. Then spoke to another manager who said " well because it was your wedding night we will refund you but you booked two rooms" ???? I then had to forward email confirmation that I asked for one room. Finally got a refund and not even a formal apology. Should have refunded me the whole amount. My dad used to stay here but he won't now. Neither will his friends or mine. Not a good way to start our married life together. Absolutely disgusting. Will keep sharing as I'm so so disappointed.

Great hotel located in the city of Wellington. Too bad, room does not face the beautiful sea view.. Only to see the office for my next two nights stay. Friendly and excellent staff. A simple and nice designed room with a definite comfortable bed, cool mini-bar. But not the shower head with weak water pressure, room with poor sound proofing to hear ambulance driving across the street & banging of room doors each time someone open and close it.
One thing that impressed me was the housekeeping this morning. Went out for breakfast and back to my room, it was done, clean and neat. Seriously, the Housekeeping has done a great done. This is definitely a great experience. Well done!

Best place in town for everything from staying to meeting up for casual drinks or coffee.

Great hotel in Wellington. The service is outstanding. The beds are extremely comfortable, the club lounge is lovely and has a lovely view. We enjoyed our daily breakfast here and 5pm canapes. A great location. I would definately stay here again.

The hotel staff and rooms were lovely. The dining staff and food were a different story.

Superlative dinner. Excellent breakfast. The rooms more than met my expectations of a premier hotel. The flashest place I have ever been lucky enough to stay. Brilliant staff right from check in through to the charming gentleman--elegantly dressed the part-- who took care of the parking and transfers to and from the hotel.

Omg this place was awesome. Super rooms, the pool was great, spa and steam room too. Hubby used the gym and is an avid gym user and found it adequate. The food at breakfast was amazing, so much to choose from! Staff were all very helpful and professional. Use their chauffeurs if you can, not that expensive and so luxurious
