Stayed here for a work trip. Good room and very nice bathroom. Great bar area in the lobby. I never had a chance to try the breakfast there which is unfortunate because it smelled and looked amazing as I walked out each morning.
Liked the location. Stones throw to Grand Central Station. One block from Park Ave.
Staff was very friendly and helpful. I would come back here in a heartbeat for work or with my family.

I cannot forget this hotel forever. Many head of states experienced this hotel. Great Location! You might feel as if you were in one of the oldest towns in Europe.
The hotel is very good in all of the location, facilities and service. In the middle of Manhattan and close to many attractions such as Time Square, Empire State Building, Top of the Rock and shopping opportunities are all within walking distance. Where to eat and drink is no problem at all. Lots of construction around the hotel is the only problem. The hotel is generally in very good status. The room is very "neat and cool". The toilet is very clean, compact but practical. The lobby is nice and the kids were happy. Americans are generally very nice and friendly and they offer to help without asking, this also applies to the hotel room crew. Get what info you need. The bed is double but unfortunately too small for two, it might just be mine, but we got extras so that we can sleep well. It's my 3rd day and everything has been going wonderfully until today. I am very happy to recommend this hotel room.
Stayed at Barclay during a weekend visit to Manhattan. Convenient location in midtown. I personally love to walk around in Manhattan so this hotel was in a nice central location. Room and accommodations were great. Got a high floor corner room upgrade as a IHG medallion member. While I didn't go to it, the hotel is well known for its Gin bar in the ground level. Rooms are pricey but not over the top. Will likely stay again when I go back to Manhattan.
This hotel is really nice. My room was sparkling clean and was decorated nicely. The only problem was that I could hear my loud neighbours arguing at night which could be quite annoying and the television kept turning on again every time I switched it off.
The view from my room was alright, nothing spectacular but some of the other rooms might have a better view than mine.
Every morning of my stay I had the breakfast buffet, and while it is very expensive, there is an excellent selection of different foods to try.
The building is very large and has a lot of history to it. It s within walking distance of most of the major New York city landmarks, and a subway station too.
In conclusion, this hotel is awesome. It was well worth spending all that money to stay there.
Very nice hotel great rooms. Very nice staff. Attention price of rooms very high. Very expensive drinks at the bar Paying WiFi but free provision of 2 pc.
I just had a coffee at the bar and it was one of the worst experience in my life, the worst service, expensive, please don t go to this very old fashioned hotel.
We had a 1 day meeting with dinner the night before. The service was impeccable and the food fantastic. The only negative is that all AV needs has to go through a separate company, PSAV, that is outrageously priced.
Ever since the remodel a few years ago, this has become one of my favorite places to stay in NYC for work. It ticks a lot of boxes for me. Staff is very friendly, and the rooms are nice.
I stayed here for a work event for 4 nights and brought my wife along too as she's wanted to come back to NY for quite a while.
This hotel is great, the staff are great, the rooms are great, the drinks are great BUT the prices for breakfast and the bar are a bit overpriced even for a well located 4-star hotel.
We did have an issue where our bathroom smelled like cigarette smoke and when I told them about this they moved us without a single issue which was really good.
It's in a great location and I walked pretty much everywhere (including down to One WTC).
All round great hotel with location and service. Room service staff in hallways very helpful and friendly. Loved the jazz band in the bar next to the lobby. Very classy touch!
Beautiful hotel lobby very stunning Hotel Staff very helpful & friendly! (Except for the concierge he sent us to a takeout Thai restaurant when he could see I was dressed up).. that s OK we found an Italian restaurant that was marvelous! Hotel Bar was amazing food & cocktails excellent, the rooms are spacious and beautiful!
This hotel was the very best. Accommodations are fantastic and very comfortable. Great mid town location with easy access to the subway. The one thing that made a difference from other fantastic hotels was Natardia. My interaction with her at check-in made the dfference. She makes you feel welcomed immediately and you can feel her genuine eagerness to assist you. She even addressed me by name later on in the evening and that means a lot to me. Thank you Natardia and thank you Intercontinental Barclay NY for recognizing great talent.
Nice hotel, rooms were comfortable and well appointed. It's clear the hotel invested in the upgrades and it shows - I was pleasantly surprised. My only caveat is that I had asked for my receipt to be emailed to me, which it was not. Mild inconvenience, so I called to request it. However, the customer service person at the front desk was extremely rude and disrespectful, for a very small request. Not fitting of this stature of a hotel.
Very nice hotel, I've stayed multiple times and never been disappointed. The location is also nice as while you're right in midtown & walking distance to most anything Broadway shows etc it is not tourist crazy like times square location...
Tip: if for some reason you're driving a few blocks east of the hotel on 48th is a reasonably priced icon, I dropped my rental car to the location when coming into town and noticed the parking rates there were about $40 cheaper than hotel
Have stayed at both this location and the Intercontinental Times Square, and like this one better. It's decorated very nicely and quite spacious. The bathroom even had heated tiles!
In a hotel so much praised located in one of the most beautiful cities in the world it is comical not to find a free wifi .... receptionist (not all) abounding .... for the next holiday we will definitely choose another hotel .... ridiculous ! shampoo and shower gel not changed all days ...
The Barclay (or the Intercontinental or its parent) is selling guest lists. I loved staying at the Barclay, it is a fantastic hotel, with a great staff and very convenient location. However, when something doesn't go quite right, the hotel does not know how to address it. I stayed here with a group reservation. I have a sister-in-law with the same name as me who stayed at the hotel at the same time as part of the same group (although her middle name is her maiden name). Several issues occurred as a result, and ultimately they were corrected. But shortly after staying at the hotel, I started receiving catalogs and other junk mail addressed to my sister-in-law at my address. She lives 2000 miles away from me, and we have never traveled together, other than at the Barclay. Clearly the hotel is selling guest lists, as that is the only possible way that I am receiving mail at my address with her name. I called the hotel and spoke to guest relations, their response was to yell at me, and then advise me this was a ridiculous accusation, and that I can't prove it. I value my privacy, and I am very disappointed in this practice, especially from a higher end hotel.
Had a bar charge that wasn t mine (including a $50 tip on a $60 bill) that they promptly took off when I let them know after I saw it on my bill at checkout.
Only reason why it isn t 5 stars is because of the resort fee. If you are going to charge then at least let the credits roll over or something. $30 a day fee isn t a very good unless you are doing laundry.
Very bad. The "Destination fee" is a real scam. A charge of $ 30 a day in exchange for nothing, considering that the maid does not even collect the laundry left to wash. No evening coverage service. Bad management uncaring. Slow bar service and catering, we waited 40 minutes for a sandwich. Any excuse is good for making additional charges. Beautiful environment, really pity for the bad management. Go elsewhere.
I booked a reservation 2 months in advance to stay 4 days in the city. The website didn t advertise any COVID-19 updates, no ticker stating services would be temporarily unavailable. The hotel room was smaller than advertised, there was no room service available, bar, or restaurant. I understand COVID-19 restrictions but an advance notice would have been appreciated so I could prepare appropriately.
If you prefer pomp over substance, look no further. In an area saturated with hotels the location is not enough to make the price and pretence worth it, but... it is iconic.
Beautiful hotel with helpful staff. Lovely bedroom and bathroom. Shower lacked power but apart from that we had a lovely stay here and would definitely visit again.
Phenomenal level of service from every member of staff in a wonderful hotel that is in the perfect location for both tourists and business visitors. The attention to detail is exemplary.
Wonderful stay!!! Everyone on staff we encountered was so kind and helpful!! Our room was beautiful and the newly renovated hotel was gorgeous!! Arthur at the check in desk was so friendly and George the Bell-man went out of his way to help us navigate around town!! I highly recommend this hotel!!
The luxury hotel very central best impossible clean and large room, with sites very close to breakfast and dinner with good price, has a very good combination in public transport. worth.
Beautiful hotel with world class customer service. Me and my wife celebrated our wedding anniversary and stayed at the Intercontinental Barclay. On our first night we had an issue with our Ac in our room. The maintenance man came up quickly but was unable to fix it. We went to speak to the manager at the front desk before we could even introduce ourselves he greeted us by name and apologized for the inconvenience. The manager upgraded us to a higher class room and offered to move our luggage. World class customer service is really hard to find nowadays but it's a reality at the Intercontinental Barclay NY!
Hotel was beautiful especially after the renovations. Our company holiday event took pretty much the 2nd floor. What was available to eat was actually delicious. I unfortunately don't eat prime rib; however the pasta and veggies were delicious.
The hotel was immaculate and the rooms were quite upscale. It isn't the most convenient to a subway stop, but just a few blocks away. There may be some discrepancies on your final bill, so just give it a once over before you leave.
