Charming hotel without identity and character, but...

Charming hotel without identity and character, but with dirty corners and insufficient quality. Unfortunately, no Kempinski standard and categorized with questionable 5 stars! Opening times for the spa area were not observed during my stay and on the endurance equipment, in the much too small sized gym, layers of dust as thick as a drawing block and dried sweat stains were as big as puddles. The toilets in the public areas (restaurants and spa area) are obviously only partially and rarely cleaned. Here, residues of excrement and puddles of urine were regularly visible. Even after the responsible persons were informed of this fact, there was no improvement. The restaurants, including the supposedly excellent "Pur", are usually characterized by a simple ambience, not very ambitious, atmospheric meaningless and as characterless and impersonal as the rest of the hotel. The choice of dishes in the restaurants is small and not necessarily characterized by the regionality and freshness that the hotel advertises and suggests. Little effort and detailed in the preparation, the aromas and textures as well as the arrangement. Sometimes I had severe health problems after taking the meals, which need not be specified. The staff, especially in the restaurants, tried very hard, but the approach was not professional and well-rehearsed enough. The friendliness of the place assigners and the staff at the reception also left something to be desired. Overall, you get the impression that you are not perceived as a guest, but as a necessary evil. The lounges are much too small, which means that there is no place to sit. The library, the so-called "retreat", which is supposed to invite you to relax and rest, borders on the bar area and is used as a bar with sound through entertainment and music due to lack of space. The so-called kids club consists of a room that is much too small and only has the bare essentials for toddlers. And the children are not really looked after by staff, but rather seen as supervision. A "child-friendly play paradise", as the hotel said, should be understood differently. The pool and sauna area, in particular in the case of saunas, also offers inadequate lying areas and is not designed to be exciting for adults or children. The pool and saunas are also separate from each other and can only be reached via a longer public corridor. The volume in the spa area was also immense, which did not bring any relaxation and relaxation moments. You can still see from the small, aging hotel that it was not so long ago that it was an Interconti hotel, which by default cannot compete with other Kempinski hotels. As far as the identity of the hotel is concerned - wellness hotel, hiking hotel, family hotel, luxury hotel etc. - it remains to be concluded that the hotel still has to find it itself. In any case, I was only able to perceive insufficient quality and no identity and "handwritten goodness", which is why I cannot recommend the hotel to couples, singles, families, hikers, people looking for rest and wellness or pleasure-seekers.
