Their Travel Insurance policies are a CON - do not buy!

I purchased travel insurance with InsureAndGO for a weekend trip, my flights were cancelled due to an Air Controller strike... This cost me a lot of money as I lost return flights, car rental, hotel, etc.

I had purchased a full policy with InsureAndGo but when I tried to claim they said this was my own fault for not checking beforehand for an organised strike..

They make it easy to buy a policy with them but make it as difficult as possible to contact them if you need to make a claim - Check Google other people have also complained of them doing the same thing!

Don t buy their travel insurance it s a complete waste of money. Never paid for my holiday rental during covid-19. Lost all the money. They asked for information Hilton provided it. They ignored it and just caused hoop and jumps to avoid paying. Never ever be tempted to go with this company you don t need to go through getting blood from a stone when you need it. Cancel car and home insurance as a result. They can t be trusted.

the ombudsman website shows that Insure and Go / Mapfre is one of the most complained businesses. 18 months since incident its still ongoing !

Ive never made an insurance claim before but this is possibly the worst customer service Ive ever experianced anywhere... Im in the process of trying to make a claim and im getting one email a day at best, emails are getting confused and im having to email the same things twice and still only getting one email a day at most. Ive sent all the documents I can provide which i have said on multiple occasions and they seem to ignore this. They are making mistakes in emails and then correcting them and making more mistakes in emails to appologise for previous mistakes... its just a whole load of uselessness. I highly doubt this will help in my case but it feels like im just wasting my time anyway so i guess nothing lost or gained. It concerns me that I still have another 6 months of my gap year left and might have to deal with them for something more serious than a destroyed phone... Imagine this kinda service if your life is at risk... total rubbish.

Never ever use this company. They are shocking. They only told me my policy was single trip after I tried to make a claim. NOWHERE in my policy does it say Single Trip. I have the receipt to show you if you wish to see it. Stay far away. They are only after your money and will not help you. I am now abroad and with no travel insurance as it became void and they did nothing to help me when they told me this. NEVER USE THEM THEY WILL RUIN YOUR TRIP!!

Imagine this, in Austria on a weekend you try to find a police station where you can put through a report and they confirm that yes this is evident you are a fool to loose your skiis! I took out the most comprehensive policy offered, reassurimg called Elite. My flight to Bristol was cancelled so i returned to Gatwick 8 hours after I was supposed to land in Bristol. I hired a car to get home. I have subsequently been told that i was returned to my 'home area' which is the UK apparently and was not delayed as the flight departed less than 12 hours late. The fact it was to a different city was immaterial and the fact I got home 12 hours later than I otherwise would have is apparently immaterial. I am ow advised I should have chosen an 'add I'm from a drop down menu and added flight disruption. The wording of the policy could have been clearer and I think comprehensive cover ought to include being returned to a different airport.
