The staff and management are receptive to my needs.

I moved my father from Brookdale East in Charlotte, NC to another Brookdale in Tennessee. When I gave the facility in Charlotte a 30 day notice, the director said they had to charge him another month as they needed 60 days. When it was confirmed by the corporate office that a notice wasn't required because he was transferring, the director made it seem like it was her idea and that she was doing him a favor. He got settled into the new Brookdale, which is a lovely facility. Then Brookdale in Charlotte automatically deducted funds from his checking account for the month he wasn't there. I received a notice that his account was put into collection in the amount over $4,000. Upon investigation, it seemed they had made a mistake and had double refunded what they had deducted from his checking account for the funds he didn't owe. Instead of informing me they had made a mistake, they put the account into collection. The financial person there has yet to admit they made a mistake, they have attempted to charge for days he wasn't there, and have never apologized for having ruined his credit rating.

I think they call it "aging gracefully". When it became time for me to not live alone and have the responsibility of keeping a house, yard, etc. I decided to make a change in my life. I began my search for a new home. My first stop and only stop was Brookdale Charlotte East. I knew immediately that what I was looking for was right here in one package. I needed nice living quarters, or better known as a home, good meals, entertainment, and to be loved by friendly folks. All of this was available immediately as well as a wonderful STAFF to make it all happen. I tell my friends that if you're not happy here or if you're bored here at Brookdale Charlotte East, its your fault because there is something for everyone and it's truly a wonderful place to live.

I would not recommend this place to anyone. I am a current resident. they dr o not put the resident first as advertised.the caregivers are rude and not very skilled or professional they are also very understaffed and have trouble keeping good skilled proactive staff.

It's a con over friendly staff promises everything. No medical people in building EVER. I my drs sent me because I have encypholothopy a dementia and living alone is dangerous so at 2600.00 a month they promise the world due to their medical ignorance I ve been accused of to much complaining. Dining room a joke 2 meals pick one and everyone must eat at same time doors locked all day. I got thirsty water in machines is a buck but they took all my money. Like 1000.00 to join the brookdale family. I had 2 working days to come up with additional grand. I said I can t and going to shop around. Just like that the 1k family fee was waved I asked four. People for water. I eventually found spikot in mens room with free water. They charge to pay bingo. No breakfast and lunch. Is 400 dinners are two choices of unknown origin and pretty bad do not come here
