Had to cancel my trip to Tas literally a few hours into it to rush back to Sydney to catch the next flight home to the US before they closed the border. I couldn't find the return depot and after looping around a few time I had to park my rental in the lot and just planned to ask for forgiveness since my flight was in less than an hour. The Hertz agent was so kind, told me not to worry, and assured me she would get it sorted out. At that point I did not expect anything more than being able to get home safely. They actually gave me a partial refund to my credit card since my lease was for 4 days. A+ service. Highly recommend!
Really grumpy staff. Also you might book a cheap car but the extra insurance you need to be safe is very expensive so make sure you arrange your own insurance on websites like TRIPCOVER etc.

Had an accident with our initial car and they changed us to another car immediately. And after the trip they followed up pretty quickly on the matter.
Highly disappointed with Kim from the reception. Customer service was appalling.. Any question I had seemed to be too much work with constant sighing and eye rolling. Over heard her on the phone to others and realised her poor service didnt apply to just me. If I was management I would certainly reconsider her position in customer service. Perhaps shed be better in the back room behind the scenes

Asked them if i can sit in the rental car as i'm meeting my friends in an hour here but a young blonde girl said theu are moving around cars so i can't.i told her that i just stay in the car since i just picked it up and might need some time to get use to it but she said i have to leave.well i have to give them 1 star for that.
Car was nice and clean, price was good too but the agent who was attending was bit careless, he didn't inspect the vehicle in front of me for fuel or any damages. When asked, i was told to look for inspection report in the car and come back if i have any issue.
We hired a motorhome and it was clean a tidy and a great way to see tasmania. It had everything you might need whilst travelling. The only problem was the constant rattling coming from inside the cabin when driving. Our only complaint with hertz was after spending over 3 thousand dollars with their company we needed a hire car overnight and they wanted 100 dollars more than any other hire company for a small car,they would not budge on their price

Car was very late . Supposed to be 10.30 and it ended up almost 12 . Yes they gave us a discount but how do you pick up an hour and a half.

Rude staff and ridiculous excesses! The price may be cheap to start but after you factor in extra costs to lower excess it equals out to other rental agencies. Nowhere have I ever seen a $10,000 excess PLUS an age excess. The two excesses combined, had I been in a crash (regardless of fault), would have been more than the worth of the car.

I purchased an ex rental car with Hertz Hobart recently. The team were an absolute pleasure to deal with. Nothing was too much trouble and they were all so warm and welcoming not to mention experts in their field. The 2017 Suzuki Baleno runs perfectly and I would go back to them for a car any day of the week. Can't praise them enough!!!!

Pretty good service. Be aware that an algorithm constantly adjusts the price. We were quoted $258 for a Corolla for 2 days on Saturday morning. Went back 40 minutes later and were quoted $315. We had to push a bit to get it for the original quoted price.
Very happy with the car and the easy quick return. We returned it clean except for a little Bruny Island sand on the floor, they didn t make any fuss about that.
Have used hertz twice now (TAS and NZ), would not hesitate to use again
The staff here are fantastic - our check-in lady was chatty and friendly. The process was quick and easy and payment came off my card, without any surprise fees, a day later. Great company, nice range of cars and the staff really made it. Even though we only hired the car for two days, the whole experience made it great. Thank you!
Good service but I had to return the car 30 minutes later but still had to pay for a days rent.
Went in to hire a car but the rate and terms of the rental were much worse than the online offer so ended up in the bizarre situation of standing in their reception area making an on-line booking. Staff were not interested in matching the on-line terms. Very strange. Apart from that, the car was fine and the pick-up and drop-off was easy.

Absolutely amazing service from the AutoRent Hertz team! Throughout my trip, I had some small issues but I received amazing help from staff members named Andrew and Kevin. The amount of effort and care they took in ensuring my issues were resolved turned what could have been a bad experience into one where I could resume my holiday with no issues.
Andrew also made the effort to reach out post the holiday and ensure everything was fine and that I enjoyed my trip.
This was the first time I've ever used a camper van and it was one of the best holidays ever! Will definitely return when I can to use their services again.
Would highly recommend anyone to use their services when visiting Tasmania!!!

Great customer service by Kim. Had to either get an upgrade (free) or downgrade and save money. We took the downgrade to save more money and Kim even gave us a box of chocolates for our troubles. We were in and out in 10-15 mins
I hire cars ALOT and HERTZ customer greeting, service & explanations were unpatient and cold.
Obviously sick of their job or bad management.
Oh and the cars are not cheap once you add on insurance.
Would not recommend.
Poor customer service, failed to adequately explain terms of hire so there were continually "surprise add on fees" previously unexplained despite my booking ahead. Truck in shabby condition with exposed wiring in tray and a leaky roof.
