Room had a great view of the Golf Course. Swimming pools were clean and well kept. Service has been great. We brought a extreme cooler for our room since room does not have a refrigerator but rather a Mini-Bar. Room rate very reasonable for the middle of summer. Resort is about 40 mins from downtown Chicago in moderate traffic.

The stay at the Hilton was pretty great, we had a room next to the pool. The only complaint I have was the foot traffic (which is it to expected being poolside) and the fact that I had to wait an extra 30 minutes for my room. The receptionist who checked me gave me a 20 dollar voucher as an apology. All in all I would recommend this hotel. Oh and the spa, golf and mini golf areas were all closed which was a major bummer for me.

Staff was great and they get 4 stars. Property is worn and desperately needs updating. Carpets are badly stained and wallpaper peeling off the walls. An old mini golf course sits in decay. Liked the unique architecture, but still needs to be freshened up.

Hotel is older and in a state of transition, but we like it. Amber at the front desk has been very helpful and informative. Would like to stay there again, just hoping it can transition back to a Hilton branded property.

This place could easily be 5 stars, I hope Hilton is able to revive the hotel. It's got a lot of potential and from what I'm told, it used to be a pretty happening place in the early to mid 2000's

This place is special. It s is a blast from the past and makes you feel like you re somewhere way cooler than Bloomingdale, IL. The cave bar is sick, and frankly the whole main lobby zone is so nice and I hope they never renovate it so I can keep feeding my nostalgia appetite. Pool is cool, mini golf used to be cool but looks like that s over. No worries though. I also love how everything is hexagon themed. Like even the hotel rooms themselves are hexagons. If you like movies and retro architecture, this is the place.

Pictures must have been taken 25 yrs ago. This place is NOTHING like it looks in the photos. Overall EXTREMELY dirty and run down. Half the lights in the parking lot were out. The lobby was so disgusting we almost walked out. Large stains on carpet covered the hotel. The entire place smelled like mold. The AC in our room would not drop below 73 even though we set it to 65. Wasn't a cloud in the sky yet the cable network they use constantly went in and out making it impossible to watch TV. Bathtub caulking was covered in mold. The closet door wouldn't stay on track. The only reason I gave it 1 star was the front desk workers were wonderful. Other than that, horrible experience. Canceled our second nights stay and went somewhere else.

We woke up bright an early on Saturday Aug. 17th, 3 friends setting out on an exciting adventure. Medinah was the destination. Victory was the goal. As we trekked across the beautiful state of Illinois heading northward we were tickled with excitement. As we neared our destination we became anxious to arrive at our "resort". As we reached Bloomingdale we approached Indian Lakes "Resort". Upon arrival we had no idea what we were in store for. As we pulled in we pondered if the "resort" was even open and functioning as the landscaping hasn't been touched in 4 years. The exterior appeared to be rotting and moldy as we joked where Betty, Wilma, Barney, and Fred parked their Ford Foot Tumbler. Even with first impressions at an all time low we took it with a grain of salt and imagined we had come to Jurassic Park where TRex already destroyed the place. As we walked in we were met with stained carpet as far as the eye could see. The smell of must and cigarette smoke filled the air like a 1970's Las Vegas Casino. As you probably guessed the room had the same scent. The room was at least spacious for the 3 of us...... and the dozens of ants that had joined us in bed. Our view was beautiful, that's if we had been here 5 years ago when the golf course was still open. Now it looks like a raptor could appear out of the bushes at any second. Even the local town folk, who bathe in 100 dollar bills, think this place should be torn down. Overall you'd have to be desperate or stupid to stay here. Never trust website pictures. My god... this place was terrible.

The good: the swimming pool is big and the waterslide is an added bonus for the kids, it's outside of Chicago yet still close to other activities, plenty of stores nearby, an okay breakfast, free parking and the rooms are big!

The bad: it took an hour to get to Navy Pier (expected about 40 min-- was not a hotel problem), and our room had ANTS (on the 4th floor)!!! On check out i told them they were so bad that my son was bit while dressing, they didn't seem too concerned.

Aside from the ants, it was a great stay (for the short time we were in our room). It was quiet, the rooms unique and the kids loved the pool! Would probably stay again but would call immediately if i saw ants again!

1 star is too much ! Was very disappointed ! My wife and I went for a weekend get away
And ended up leaving after one night ! The entire hotel smelled of old cigarettes from the lobby to the rooms. The main reason we picked this hotel was the in room massage their website offered ,come to find out they stopped offering that last year . The air conditioning did not work , was extremely hot all night . The staff at the front desk was very disconcerned with our issues . Will be the first and last time we stay there.

This hotel is great! Always clean has everything you could need..except a microwave. I don't hold that against it though. Great staff and shout out to Kyle for helping me make a last minute booking. Love the unique design of this place. It like a living piece of history.

We booked here twice the first night was ok, we had a $30 accidental fee. The second time we booked we were charged a $50 accidental fee & as soon as we walked into our room we encountered a bug of some type on top of our sheetes. They didn t refund us our money because we booked through a third party . Instead they put us on the nosiest floor. Barking dogs all night & our 18month old couldn t sleep. Looks are deceiving I saw that first hand with this resort.

Didn't have our reservation, which was made on their website. No problem, had room. Cigarette burn in carpet. No sheer curtain on one of the large windows. Needed caulking around tub. Can get better room for less in area. Atrium is nice.

This place reminds me of my phone game where I have to clean up a old beat up hotel... it's a big place and the room is big and spacious. It just didn't feel very maintained due to visible broken or unmaintained spots outside the room.. we went there for the swimming pool and it might be the largest indoor pool in the area.

The rooms were clean, the beds are pretty comfy and the view no matter what room you get is great! The atrium is really pretty and provides a great place to hang out with family. Some of the other areas of the hotel...not so much. I stayed this weekend and was pretty disappointed.

To start, the same garbage bags outside the garbage can that was by the ice machine Friday, were still there Sunday. Gross...you couldn't help but trip over people's takeout garbage when trying to get some ice, not to mention the smell was gross.

We went down to the pool to relax and that was a huge mistake. Upon walking into the pool we were greeted with almost every single chair being covered by used, soaking wet towels. Not only were the towels on the chairs, they were on the ground sopping wet by the hot tub. Once we found a chair that didn't have a wet towel on it, we were able to enjoy the pool...not. About 8 kids came in with someone that appeared to maybe be 18 and all havoc broke lose. Within minutes another family with even more kids came in. Don't get me wrong, I love kids however when your trying to relax in the hot tub and you have about 10 kids(all under the age of 16)splashing around in there when there is clearly a sign that says you need to be 16, you can't help but get frustrated. All the other adults in the hot tub appeared to be annoyed and unhappy with the situation as well. I understand that their parents or whoever was down there watching them should have told them to get out of the hot tub, but it didn't happen, so at what point should hotel management step in? And at this point the hot tub capacity was not being followed either which is another problem in itsef. The pool area appears to have no sort of supervision provided by the hotel, no one to enforce the hotels rules and regulations so that guests can enjoy and relax while being here.

My family and I have come to Indian Lakes for many years whether it be for a random weekend "staycation" or birthday weekend, but with the lack of cleanliness at the pool and on the room floors, as well as the lack of pool supervision/organization has made us unsure whether or not we will continue to come back to this location.

I was excited to take make family to Indian Lakes Resort based off the pictures on the website. We had a double room and the heat did not work in one room. We had to move rooms at 10:00pm at night. The room we moved to wasn't the greatest but I did not feel like moving anymore.

Great front desk service! Rooms are spacious. There's conveniently a refrigerator in the room but the microwave is located on the first floor. This hotel is enormous. We didnt have a chance to spend time in the pool/jacuzzi due to hours of operation :-( but the space was organized and inviting! I noticed a mini golf course outside, near the pool area.

I only stayed here because of work but would definitely stay again!!!

This place was amazing!! It definitely had a 70's vibe but the lobby was the most gorgeous thing I've ever seen. They have fountains and real plants everywhere and it was my favorite part. My husband and I loved our room, everything was clean and in place! Room service was amazing also and we will definitely be coming back here.

This is the second time staying here and it's currently under renovation. The rooms are clean and remodeled but the rest of the hotel is still in need to updating. The outside is not well maintained and there is what looks like an abandoned building with an overgrown parking lot next to the main hotel.

Hotel has been undergoing renovations. Room was very nice and quiet. Cave Bar has recently reopened, Bar Manager Vincent was very pleasant and accommodating. Lobby still requires renovations, as carpet looks dirty and needs replacement. Parking lighting also needs to be addressed, either non-working or very dim in many areas, making it a safety concern. Continental breakfast daily, waffles during the week. Fitness center and game room has been reopened. Stayed at hotel for 11 nights and overall pleased with accomodations. Front desk staff were very personable.

***Update 3/2019***
Returned for another stay. Nothing has improved here. Hotel owner is still trying to sell off old golf course land to developer, and developer remains in sqaubble with village on zoning and such. So hotel owner appears to have cash flow issue and has not put in $$$ any renovations, in fact renovations thta were started last visit remain incomplete. Maintenance and repairs also seem to have been ignored. We found mold in shower, reported to front desk, nothing done. Came back late and found housekeeping wasn't even done for the day, front desk tried to make up some week excuse. We just look for clean place to sleep . May need to reconsider where we stay next time we are in the area. Reducing rating until hotel owner starts to pump some $$$ into needed repairs and maintenance.

Still ok place but set expectations accordingly, this is NOT the hotel it was years ago, and unfortunately even pictures that Google has of hotel are very old and misrepresent the current condition of the hotel. Pictures from years ago before current owner took over, closed the golf course, restaurant, spa, etc.

Place could be a real gem.

Dated hotel, confusing layout. Room's air conditioner was not working we had to wait for an engineer to fix it. Beds are comfortable, pillows are good and clean. TV was fuzzy. Office chair in photo is broken, handle chewed off somehow. Lots of parking. When they say continental breakfast they mean serial and Danish, coffee and juice. Perhaps one of the most basic breakfast I have had in any hotel.

This place was a true disappointment. It's not only dated but also unkempt. The staff has lots of excuses all the issues brought to their attention. Some excuses: There are no microwaves in the room because people stole them, there is no yogurt because the store is sold out, come to the desk for your own towels (no reason given)...
The rooms show signs of mold, the water pressure and temp in the showers are horrible, the "breakfast" consists of stale bread products, cereal, and juice. Yogurt and fruit are not guaranteed day to day. The carpets in the common rooms are absolutely filthy. I wouldn't suggest anyone who is looking for a decent experience waste their time. If quality doesn't really matter, this place would do.

The customer service ladies called Talyah and Amber ,Is one of the rudest if not the worst service i had in my life
1st. Most of the time the deak is empty and you have to wait till someone show up
2- they are so grumpy and welcome you with a rough tone
3- they usually talk to you while they are eating or drinking !!
4- i was waiting for 2 hrs a room to check in. And when i asked Talyah if there is any update , she said No and if you have a problem waiting you can leave the property, and if you don t stop rushing us we will blacklist you from the hotel!!!
5- Her friend Amber was supporting her and they let people check in While im still waiting
When i asked them. They said this is a hotel policy
6 - be careful with pool lights as there is electric shock accident happened there.
7- Talyah was dragging smelly trash bag right in the middle of the lobby
8- if you try to ask for a manager Good luck they will never let you talk to any
And they will laugh in sarcastic way at you
9- they allow pets in the pool area.
10 - no guard is attending the whole pool area Which is against the state law inspection?hello?
11- Breakfast food avoid it by all means. Unless you want a diarrhea

The resort itself was cool. The phone in the room didn't work. The digital key didn't work. Jimmy the bartender at the speakeasy was awesome. We got two queens for a couple instead of a king. Not so romantic.... They couldn't do anything about it cause their king rooms were overbooked.

Haven't been to the resort but am looking for a weekend staycation spot. Reading reviews & see that the owners respond to the positive posts & the not so harsh ones but there is one by Nora Mendoza that was not so positive, negative in fact, but the owner neglected to respond. I am wondering why...

This hotel is the best value around in the Chicago area. The service was impeccable and the hotel has great amenities. Our stay was absolutely spectacular.

The hotel is massive and very luxurious, generous size rooms and many interior details not offered by other hotels costing so much more. We love it and we highly recommend it.

Breakfast was great, from the choices of pastries, yogurt and the pancake station.

The hotel can use a bit of updating in some areas but nothing concerning or distracting. I still believe that the aging aspect of the hotel is greatly trumped by the level of service and sheer overall quality they offer.

The Associated Fire Fighters of Illinois bi-ennial convention was held at Indian Lakes this past June. I have had the opportunity to organize many Conventions and events over the past 10 years and I have to say that this was flawless. Lori and her staff were dedicated and responsive to all of our needs. I have none, and have heard no complaints about the facility from any of the 400 + attendees that I have spoken to. The resort style set up is spread out, which will definitely help you get your steps in for the day. The rooms are spacious and unique in design. The entire staff to include their AV people (Audio Visual Productions) was great to work with and I look forward to our next event at Indian Lakes.

I really hate being the type of person that is sending an email of complaints but this day it was probably the worst hotel stay I have ever had and I don't think I have a choice but to say something. I deal with extreme anxiety and this hotel stay threw me into a genuine panic attack because of the uncleanliness of the hotel. I had booked a king room with a view of the golf course and they put us in a queen room with no view. The room was very dirty in that there was dust everywhere and I could see the leaves and mess outside the window. The worst part was there was blood on the pillow cases. That does not bode well for me and my anxiety. I called down to the front desk twice and they never came up with new pillows and new sheets. The bathroom had snot in the sink. I have always trusted Hilton hotels and have stayed in many before but I don't think I will ever stay in one again after this experience. We had planned to stay for two nights but checked out the next morning because it was such a bad experience. The hotel was so disorienting and confusing. There were no signs anywhere and the hallways were small hot and not lit well. I am just so upset by this experience. I had booked this for my husband's birthday and it was all together disappointing to say the least. I cannot believe I spent $100 on this room and couldn't even sleep in the sheets or pillows because of the blood. Overall, such a disappointing experience.

Would give it a -1 if possible. Park at your own risk. My vehicle was vandalized/damaged while I stayed at this "resort". They said they are not liable for the damage since they had signs posted. They have no cameras in the parking lot.
The hotel itself is old and run down, no towels in the pool, an overall poor experience. Will never go back there again and will tell everyone we know. Sorry excuse for a resort/hotel.
