Ross Somerville Review of Indian Lakes Resort

We woke up bright an early on Saturday Aug. 17th, 3 friends setting out on an exciting adventure. Medinah was the destination. Victory was the goal. As we trekked across the beautiful state of Illinois heading northward we were tickled with excitement. As we neared our destination we became anxious to arrive at our "resort". As we reached Bloomingdale we approached Indian Lakes "Resort". Upon arrival we had no idea what we were in store for. As we pulled in we pondered if the "resort" was even open and functioning as the landscaping hasn't been touched in 4 years. The exterior appeared to be rotting and moldy as we joked where Betty, Wilma, Barney, and Fred parked their Ford Foot Tumbler. Even with first impressions at an all time low we took it with a grain of salt and imagined we had come to Jurassic Park where TRex already destroyed the place. As we walked in we were met with stained carpet as far as the eye could see. The smell of must and cigarette smoke filled the air like a 1970's Las Vegas Casino. As you probably guessed the room had the same scent. The room was at least spacious for the 3 of us...... and the dozens of ants that had joined us in bed. Our view was beautiful, that's if we had been here 5 years ago when the golf course was still open. Now it looks like a raptor could appear out of the bushes at any second. Even the local town folk, who bathe in 100 dollar bills, think this place should be torn down. Overall you'd have to be desperate or stupid to stay here. Never trust website pictures. My god... this place was terrible.
