Cozy, busy local burrito and Tex-Mex bowl place. Craft beer on draft is reasonably priced at $3.50. Long line even outside of standard lunch rush hours but moves quick and folks are friendly.

I don't like it. It bothers me when they mix up the ingredients in the burrito, because then by the time I eat it, it's cold, and doesn't retain any warmth. I wish they wouldn't do this. The theme of the place is Mexican, and has the word "illegal" in the name, so that to me is playing a pun on the illegal immigrant issue, which has racist undertones. Everything is so overpriced and the worst of all, the employees are always stingy with the ingredients they put in, especially the guac. If I'm paying extra for guac, you should at least give me more than just a tablespoon of it!! Anyway, I've decided chipotle is better.

Normally, this location has been on point, but the last two times which includes this one, they've forgotten to give me any salsa that was in my order. It's pretty saddening when you salsa is a big part of the order and it's forgotten. On top of the forgetfulness, there's no longer curbside pickup even though it's still listed on their website and what not. Also, there's no where to make a complaint about order not being correct. Hope things get better, but for now I won't be returning for any further forgetfulness at this location

I am a huge fan of the concept of mixing all the ingredients together before wrapping the burrito. Each bite has the same consistency as the last up until the butt of the burrito. I ate mine 45 minutes later in the airport and it didn t even taste soggy because the sauces were so well ensconced with the dry ingredients.

Illegal Pete's is what Chipotle wishes it could be. Same concept: choose what you want then pick out toppings. The only difference is Pete's toppings are 100% better! Fresh, juicy chunks of steak, chicken, or shredded pork. They even offer fish! Plus, two types of everything: rice (cilantro white or brown), sauteed veggies (green or yellow/red), burritoes (white or whole wheat), tacos (soft or crunchy) and beans (black or pinto). To-die-for queso. Huge portions. And low prices. Highly recommend.

I've been going to Illegal Pete's since it first opened in Boulder in 1995, and was very pleased to find that it's still great when I visited last week. Great salsa, excellent flavors of their grilled veggies and meats, and yummy guacamole all join to make an excellent meal no matter what you order. The only thing that has always creeped me out a bit is that they mix your burrito with a big spoon before they wrap it up - I learned to ask them not to mix.

2 Quesadillas, Chips and Guac, a beer and 2 soft drinks. $31!!! Outrageous for assembly-line style food I can make in a dorm room with a hot plate. I d price this meal around $12-$15. Probably cost the restaurant less than $3 total to make. Only positive is that they didn t skip on the guac. It s open late, so I m sure this spot is great for the late-night drunchies or munchies. For the sober Boulder visitor looking for a great meal, though, this ain t it. The place seems to be popular and doing well, but I have a suspicion that it s because Illegal Pete s most frequent patrons are college kids armed with their parents credit card, not knowing just how badly Mom & Dad are getting ripped off.

This place used to be great and I would not have gone to chipotle ever. The staff now is super rude some of the time. Not personable at all. I ve ordered nachos a few times and it s more expensive than a burrito but half of the amount of food. I ordered guacamole and they literally but two tablespoons on and charge you for it. Chipotle hands down gives you more food which is a shame.

So yummy! Such great flavors and unique things to add to your burrito (or taco or bowl etc...), like pesto or potatoes. It's a great local place that mixes your burrito insides up before wrapping it, and knows how to keep you coming back.
There is also a bar if you're feeling a margarita. Awesome place, great food.

Always delicious, always natural, and they even mix up ingredients before wrapping the burrito. There are options for everyone. If the line is long, don't worry because it moves quickly. It's also worth the wait!

I love this place. Inexpensive with tons of delicious choices. I had PLENTY of gluten-free options as well. There's sometimes a line, but this affordable gem found among the over-priced eateries on Pearl Street is well- worth the wait.

One of few eateries with casual dining on Pearl St. open late. You can find American style Mexican food here for under $10. Dishes are open customization with an assortment of salsas and veggie toppings. There's also a full bar area with an assortment of beers.

Insane burrito's that will definitely not leave you hungry. Can get very crowded around lunch time. Prepare to stand in line for a couple of minutes. I usually struggle finishing the burrito as it is just huge, but also really good, so I end up finishing it and feeling like I can't move for the rest of the day. If you're looking for a lighter meal, 1 burrito could easily feed two people.

My favorite place for a healthy burrito that s fast if you re starving and on the go. I m not a fan of the tv s, so I prefer to enjoy my child size burrito (big enough for me) outside on the pearl st mall people watching and enjoying nature. Great prices!

Fast casual burritos & tacos. Staff is friendly and ecclectic. Great margaritas, especially at happy hour. There is outside seating on the side of the building. Highly recommend for a quick bite on Pearl.

Always great. I drive in from out of town for the food! The barbacoa is the best I've ever had, almost like slow cooked roast beef. Queso is perfection! Get reverse nachos, and it's like two meals! Did I mention they MIX their burritos?? So good! I miss their old staff, turnover seems high with the new management. She has been rude to me on occasion. It used to be a place where the staff joked and laughed with you, and now they're just making burritos. The food is great, the atmosphere isn't what it used to be.

I work right down the street and come in on the reg for lunch. I m on a first name basis with about half the staff, and it s always a good experience, despite the line usually being long. It s Pearl Street. Illegal Pete s is good. It makes sense that it s gonna be busy. Also, Alex is the man!
