I'm addicted to Illegal Pete's queso dip! I just love it! Goes great with their Margaritas!
Awesome place for cheap Mexican food, must visit, love their breakfast burritos too
I had the nachos, they were ok. My friends had tacos that they loved.
The best food the freshest ingredients this is the place you have to go too
Great place for burritos, bowls and tacos. Outdoor seating is nice and the people watching is fun. Happy hour features inexpensive drinks and don't pass up the Margaritas.
The atmosphere is very inviting and great music is always playing beyond this there is a full bar with very helpful staff. Finally the food is incredible cheap but with high quality meats, veggies and salsas this Is the place to go for cheap great Mexican food
Always delicious. During peak times there can be a bit of a wait but what are you gonna do? It's good and a lot of people want it. Great value.
Not what I'd go for if I want tacos. Bland and lacking luster. Waited 20 minutes for fish tacos.... They sent the order to the back because it was fish and I had to ask the cashier after a long wait where the fish tacos were. I was standing right next to him the whole time.
Amazingly like a Chipotle/subway, where you go down a line and choose the toppings of your burrito or whatever. That being said, the quality was way better than any chain, and the atmosphere was hip and fun. Get place to get some food while out having some drinks.
Excellent quality Mexican style food. Many choices so the menu suits everyone. Best Queso and chips in Boulder!!!
Build your own burrito, and a bar! Fantastic food every time I've been here. The burritos can be as small or as big as you want, the beer is fresh and cold, and the spirits are strong! Great service and reasonable prices. Standing room only during busy hours, but it's definitely worth it.
Like Chipotle, but good. I appreciate that they mix your burrito before rolling it.
Very fresh, really like that they mix everything up. Nice variety and good flavor with local beers to boot!
When I went there, she said it's like Chipotle but better. I agree. Bigger buritto and you get way more guac
I worked here for 4 years and never have I been sick of their queso. Best place in Boulder to grab a quick burrito, reverse CO style nachos, and margs!
Good food, similar to Chipotle. Free guac! Music was too loud which made it difficult to order, staff wasn't super friendly.
A moes with a bar thats open late! Also with good music
This place is bomb, and has a great atmosphere/crew!
They don't discriminate against any class. Props to Illegal Pete's
Fish burrito is off the charts. I had a margarita it was happy hour (5 hour long happy hour by the way) cost was 4.50 and I got a buzz off just 1. Left very happy.
Food is delicious, and don't forget the queso. It's like a more down to earth Chipotle or Qdoba. Service is great and friendly. Stop by if you haven't been here before.
Visited the Pearl Street location today - the food was delicious but the two young females working were beyond rude. Was completely shocked to have spent 5 days on the road traveling America to come to Boulder to have the rudest service to date. Won t ever visit again despite the food. If you hate working in public service then it shows.
Super generous with serving size, great environment!
Best late night place to visit! Good food and super fun atmosphere!
Must visit if you are in town!!!
We used Illegal Pete's for catering my brother's rehearsal dinner for his wedding. They were super helpful bringing it to my car (park in the alley for pickup) and setup was all organized with easy to follow instructions. The food was, of course, wildly popular.
The carnitas burrito was legit; portions are generous and ingredients are tasty. Lime rice isn't my thing but until they offer Spanish rice, it'll have to do.
Overall, if you're away from the Bay Area, where you can get a mission style burrito that beats anything else (yeah San Diego, fries in a burrito will always be for 2nd place), Illegal Pete's will definitely fill your burrito void.
Really fresh ingredients! Burritos are awesome. Cool atmosphere.
Tried and true, they are the only burrito place that mixes the ingredients before wrapping them in the tortilla. Have never seen that at any other establishment east coast to west.
Great place. Friendly staff. Good food.
This place had a good vibe. I think I like it better than Chipotle (which it's relatively comparable to). Their sopapias are good here!
They were very accommodating of us splitting plates with our children. Will return if I have the chance (was traveling through the area).
Don't go for breakfast. Just paid 10 dollars for two tortillas....
These breakfast burritos have nothing in them. When you bite into more tortilla than any other combined food it's a problem.
Great for lunch and dinner. Will never return for breakfast.
The fish for the tacos and bowls are cooked fresh. Kind of warm and stuffy sitting indoors though on a late spring afternoon, moved to their outdoor seating, more pleasant.
Great Fat Tire Fiday, tallboy for just $3.50
They mix their burritos before filing them. How has this not taken off and become the standard?! Great staff. Great food. Convenient downtown location.
Given a small scrape of guac and then charged double when I asked for more
Best burritos in town, qudoba Chipotle owned by McDonald's no souls
Had the nachos! The Colorado Nachos, with chicken, beans, onions and some other yummy stuff. It was the BEST nachos I have ever had! BEST EVER!!!
Big fish burrito, potato steak burrito. Great!! Plus you can get fresh beer from tab. You can't have that from chipotle!!
Bartender seemed annoyed with me, not great with cutomer service.
The food looked yummy thought.
Illegal Pete's is a better Chipotle. In almost every way. Mostly because they have green chili. Grab a burrito, grab a coin marg, grab a seat, and you're set. This place gets pretty busy near lunch so make sure to plan accordingly.
Illegal Pete s makes my souls happier than just about anything in this world. I am so glad they have re-opened.
Good food and I recently heard they up they employees pay rate! Good job Illegal Pete's
Glad your back but you should go with Doordash, you d be 20x busier
Killer food, great music and an A+ staff. Check out the Baja fish tacos. Great atmosphere. The closest thing healthy, natural products being served as fast food. They don t have a freezer because they don t preserve products, they always use fresh food and everything is locally, naturally sourced
Brought my little brother for dinner, they had perfect size mini burrito for him
Pete's is decent if your into " white folks" style mexican food.It is mild in terms of flavors and spice levels. Its also much more expensive than mexican owned and run places in town. The food is good I often would get take out. However then they starting to fall off to me ..... But once they started to only allow you to order togo online....they lost me. I mean they literally have 4 college students buliding burritos( a job that one competent mexican could do alone.)the wait is really long and compounding that to the fact that you have to pay with cc online.....is just lame. Why not just Hire ppl who can work faster and just have one take phone orders/cashier, one building tacos, and one cooking in the back....oh and one bartender easy. But no they want us to stand in a long ass line for 15 mins when the Mexicans get you a burrito filled with fresh ingredients, hot tasty and HALF THE price, in half the time. That said the best taco in boulder today is at Los Dos Bros truck on 55th and Arapahoe. Huge menu, super fast and clean, half the price and authentic. With 2 latino workers not 5 poser in skate sneaks tryin to be cool with bad tattoos. ...and you can see from the massive amount of ppl there that the food is banging....and easy to get in and out.
They skimp on the breakfast burritos a bit. Overall it's excellent food and the employees are nice.
Servers are nice, food is good, always nice stopping in for some food.
A fun place with burritos tailored to your needs and a bar.
Illegal Pete's on Pearl was a staple when I was growing up, going to high school in boulder. Unfortunately, the quality hasnt kept up, and the prices have gone up enough to make me disappointed. The big fish burrito still tasted like a big fish, but the proportion of ingredients heavily favored the rice and beans, opposed to the fried white fish of previous days. Overall not a bad place for a quick bite, but I really won't go out of my way to get my fix anymore.
Their ingredients are fresh, but they left out the guacamole and extra chicken I d ordered. This is not the first time they ve skipped out on guacamole.
A great place if you want a burrito and want to sit down to eat. The location makes this much better than a Chipotle or Qdoba
Bro's Bro's Bro's but it's open late. No idea bouts da food but day got da booze
Used to be great. Now, it takes 30 minutes to get through the line, and the staff are clueless and distracted.
Been going there for a very longtime. Today, my usual chicken burrito was met with a travesty; I was given less than a full Tablespoon of Guac. Nothing like it used to be, serving-wise. I asked about it, and was told they're cutting way back, and that I would have to pay more. It changed everything. Sadly, may never go back.
There burritos are enormous. I mean really. The take and potato California burrito is bigger by 2 then any I had in Austin save for free birds which doesn't hold a cable in hell to this place. Cookies are always gooy soft warm and amazing. The drinks are usually cheap and there's always friendly locals having a drink and enjoying life.
Solid choice of tacos, burritos and more. Great happy hour for drinks and food.
Great breakfast burrito for a wonderful price. Not too big, not too small.
Fast and delicious food for a pretty good price. I paid 11 bucks for a burrito, but it was damn good.
I always pay the extra $1.25 for the pesto sauce. It's really good.
Even if you're in a hurry, you can usually get through the line in 5 minutes. They make it right in front of you and send you on your way.
Cleaner than the location on the Hill, but that isn't a compliment.
