Best burritos we have ever had and the late hours are a huge bonus. Loved the friendly staff and the atmosphere.
Fast, delicious, affordable food. The people working here are friendly and patient. Dogs are OK outside.
The food is always good, lots to choose from. Live music here is Awesome! Derek the bartender was super cool! One of the spots for sure.
My husband went here for lunch. 2 hours later he had the most painful stomach ache of his life. 1 hour after that he violently threw up several times. I don't know what was wrong with their food, but it clearly gave him food poisoning.
Average Illegal Pete's establishment. Great spot to eat outside on their small patio especially if you have a dog with you as there aren't many spots to eat that allow dogs on Pearl Street. Fish tacos are bomb if you care to venture away from getting the classic burrito/burrito bowl.
A Boulder institution. Excellent food and friendly service. The breakfast burrito is my go to favorite. Open late night and full bar.
Great food! Fun environment. And were playing Zeppelin!!
Waited in line for quite some time here, the place wasn t too packed inside but it was messy and disheveled. The dining area should be kept a bit neater for those patrons who d like to sit inside. The food was pretty good though all aesthetic things aside.
Our first choice to spend time in Boulder. We just love the atmosphere, music choice, friendly staff, food, Margarita! We love everything about it!
Good food, good service, good drinks. Ordered a battered fish burrito and thoroughly enjoyed it.
Go for breakfast at around 10:15. By the time you finish they will be serving lunch Too!!!! Do both back to back.
Just my style: burritos, nachos, etc. Great food, good prices. Great tea.
this place is so gross I have no idea how so many people can like it, I've tried it twice now an was sorely disappointed both times, everything always tastes super rotten and old like they made it days ago.
Good food and drinks, but it is hard to find a place to sit when it's busy.
Think Chipotle meets a local dive bar. It's kinda perfect.
Very nice fast and friendly service along with yummy fish tacos and i really enjoyed their selection of drink choices too!!
Down to earth and very kind people vibe made me feel compfy and quite welcome!! Next time visiting i plan on inviting several friends to join me too.

Not the best Illegal Pete in the denver area but still a good one!!
Basic, no nonsense, good value. Good for a quick bite but not for a date.
Classic burrito spot! I used to eat there 3 times a week when I lived in Boulder
I used to love coming to Illegal Pete s, but lately the portion sizes are getting smaller.
Some of the best burritos in town! Like many place on Pearl St. there are numerous options for vegetarians with large hearty portions that will certainitly leave you feeling satisfied. Illegal Pete's utilizes responsibily sourced ingredients that allows for unique local integration.
I have been in several times Sunday Mornings. I'm not sure if whats this mans title is, but he seems to have authority. I have observed that he is very rude to customers and very unprofessional. I used to eat at Pete's often but his sour attitude has really turned me off to coming in on my days off. I did not appreciate his snappy attitude towards me when I asked a simple question.
If this were my business I would want to know how my employee's are treating valued customers!
For those of us who have been in the food industry know that the customer is always right!
Decent not as good as chipotle in my opinion, due to lack of vegetarian options and the bar... Not a fan of it. But if you want meat And beer I'll bet it works right out.
It's good. I tired a breakfast burrito and my friend got the famous fish one. Both were good, but not very rich in flavor.
Best Chipotle/Qdoba-style burritos, but they mix the insides up so you don't get a bite full of sour cream. If you choose no dairy, guac is free. Atmosphere is great too!
Very good burritos but was a long wait in line and they wanted to charge extra for guacamole when it said it was included. Free beer with concert ticket stub but don't forget your I'd, even if you are old.
Loved the food and the atmosphere. Trendy, cool place for good food.
Great breakfast burrito and always a fan of the Big Fish for lunch.
Tex Mex dietary staple. Margaritas. Beer. Good happy hour deals including $3.50 fat tire tall boys
Staff are rude and oblivious to anything around them beyond their stoner buddies.
Great place to go after cruising on Thursday nights. They even let us setup a portable n64 to project on the wall outside. Thanks Illegal Petes!
The perfect place to grab breakfast, lunch, or dinner. The breakfast bowls are made to order, and will definitely fill you up and start your day right. The service if fast, friendly, and you can tell how good the food is by the line that goes out the door for lunch. A fair value for the amount of food they give you. So if you love fast, friendly service and delicious food, Illegal Pete's on Pearl Street is the perfect stop for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Long happy hour with quick bartenders and pretty good margs. The food is also delicious, I can't get enough of their queso!
Tastes delicious and enough food/calories for the entire day. I would stop here again in a heartbeat.
Awesome place, Morgan does a fantastic job managing the place and promoting a local community.
Haven't been here since about 2006, just passing through. Delighted that they are still here, and delighted to have a Colorado potato burrito!
Good food... Needs a make over. Looks very very well used and has a funky smell... Live music is nice... Beer is nice... But the smell.
This place is like Chipotle but way way way better! They have quality ingredients and tasty menu options. I will definitely be coming back!
Flavorless and gross . They never put the right amount of meat . Waste of money every time .
I got the 32oz marg and a giant cookie. They charged me twice for my order (so $68.) when I tried to correct it, the one who seemed like maybe the manager had the audacity to tell me it was because my card got declined and it would disappear in the morning; I firmly corrected him. My could wouldn t have gotten declined, AND it still hasn t disappeared off of my bank statements. I can understand frustrating Covid procedures and the staff being frustrated by them, but on top of it, the quality of the things I got were low. Didn t finish the margarita how it was made because no one could drink it as it was. The girl who helped me was kind, but clearly was exasperated and overworked she has an injury and was positioned to walk all around. She appeared to be in pain. The gentleman was snippy, and it didn t seem like he knew how to deal with customers, as he gave me absolute bs excuses... unfortunate.
Food used to be better but it's still pretty good. Can get super crowded
Great food and cheap drinks, what more could you ask for! It is basically Chipotle but much better and more options.
Great food selection if you like
American - Mexican food .
Fresh and delicious
So my friend was travelling cross country and I planned to meet him in Boulder at a restaurant that happened to have a wait that neither one of us felt like waiting for, so we ended up here... And glad we did! First off, the staff is just AWESOME! Alex is as sweet as she is adorable, and Parker is awesome too and I'm sure he's good looking, just not my type lol. But the food to follow was fasaaantastic, along with one if the hottest yet still flavorful hot salsas I've ever had, and I've tried A LOT, and to top it off, they have horchata on tap at the soda fountain! 5 stars all around, so check it out and tip em well, they deserve it!!!
i just love this place. would give 5 stars but i really wish they would use organic food. just charge us 50 cents more for that please!
Great build your own Mexican food. Fast and easy. Portions are a little light for the price, though quality is good and consistent.
Good food. Reminds me a lot of a couple of places we have back home. Still worth a visit though.
Simply delicious! I love the quirky coolness of this burrito bar. And they are Colorado local! They also serve beer, which goes well with a burrito sometimes. Try them out and enjoy!
Service was fantastic drinks for madewell a bit crowded
Best USA style burritos in the area. Great ingredients and they MIX them.
Sooooo good! Like Chiptole but better! More options to put on your food, and more menu options in general. Plus they do breakfast! You also get to choose a complimentary bag of chips or tortilla if you order a burrito bowl, which is my favorite. Top it off with green chili and a house made hot salsa and you're set.
Good burritos, bar atmosphere with super loud heavy metal.
Tasty food with a good beer selection and great Margaritas.
Best breakfast burritos
Update: late night service was quite bad. From ordering to walking away with food took 10+ minutes, which is not good for a counter style burrito place.
I would recommend going here daily for breakfast but DO NOT waste your time after midnight. The staff just doesn t care.
