Regular customers here and for the last 6 months the service has dropped dramatically.
- Went for breakfast, had poached eggs which were severely undercooked, I would have asked for it to be changed but no one came over to see how everything was. When someone did come over to take the plates away, they didn t ask if everything was okay although it was obvious it wasn t.
- 7 of us went for dinner, some of us only had starters but asked for them to be served at the same time as everyone else s mains. This didn t happen when we mentioned it the waiter rolled his eyes and sighed at our audacity. No apologies. Then they brought out main meals whilst those with 2 courses were still eating starters. We felt very rushed and like we were a hinderance.
- Went for Sunday lunch, stood for about a minute waiting to be seated, but the two lads were just stood talking amongst themselves right in front of us without any acknowledgement. When we walked past them to seat ourselves he ran after us and said we couldn t do that we had to wait. There were only 4 other tables occupied by the way.
We ordered starters of soup, when it came out it was the wrong one and gave us no explanation as to why.
We ordered more drinks before our main meal arrived, they arrived 10 minutes after we finished our dinner and that was because we asked again for them.
This is just 3 occasions in the last 3 months, but every single time we have been which is near enough weekly, we have either had extras added into our bill that we didn t have or heard of someone else complaining about the same issue.
We used to love this bar & restaurant as it s a nice atmosphere but it s dreadful service now which is disappointing.
Get a good restaurant manager and bar manager and stop hiring kids and stop trying to literally rob your customers.

Fantastic service today. During a busy lunchtime session on a warm bank holiday, we were met buy a busy outside area with no free tables.
After asking a member of bar staff, we were allowed to sit out in the Terrace area usually reserved for dining only. Thanks again, can't wait to return.

Food was tasty, but portion size was irregular. Others on my table with the same dish (Prawn Linguine) received a full bowl, whereas mine seemed like a starter portion.

Serving staff were very friendly and helpful, but the manager was very disrespectful to one of my colleagues.

I don t know why il roso allows people to park on the pavement on a busy main road like Nottingham Road accident waiting to happen I think il rosso should have a sign in the restaurant asking there customers not to park there and be abit more considerate

My husband and I love this place but unfortunately for the second time now we have called in for something to eat and have been told they are not taking orders as they are to busy. There are more empty tables to full ones as we sit here. Very disappointed surly if this happens regularly something needs addressing.

Nice place, good atmosphere. Food was OK. The asparagus soup was nice, bit of a small portion, no bread roll. Had seafood pasta main, very bland, over priced dish. Would go again as other things looked nice and service was friendly.

The food on the evening menu was excellent and I couldn't fault it in anyway. The service was good (earning the 8% service charge they add to the receipt). The bar tends to get about crowded and it is best to book make sure you won't be disappointed, it is a popular place to eat with good reason :)

Breakfast of poached eggs on toast was nice but not got enough. Very expensive really once you have paid for drinks as well . Will try evening menu one day I hope it will be more value for money.

But service really bad. We've asked for coke zero and regular and straw and whisky with no ice abd what did i get?

Whisky with ice, no straw and two cokes without even telling us which one is regular.

When i asked to take back that whisky with ice and bring me please whisky neat, what did i get? Same glass with same whisky (cold as ice) but with removed ice cubes from it.

Really disappointing.

But food alright.

Paying up front for food is OK for chain fast food joints, but not for restaurants like this. It screams "lack of confidence".
Food was OK (breakfast), portions were on the small side, including about a teaspoon of baked beans in the dreaded "ramekin". Service was slow and sparse and our orders got totally mixed up. Lack of staff meant we had to scrape food from one plate to another, before it got cold, plus return to the bar to ask that cutlery be made available (the wooden box on the bar was empty).

This is all pretty easy to address: Add another server to the team, introduce table service (!), have the option of larger portions, and most importantly switch to payment after consumption. The latter portrays more confidence in your product and grants your servers the opportunity to earn tips.

I'm sure we will return, and hopefully see some improvement.

4 OUT OF 5 FAMILY MEMBERS GOT FOOD POISONING THANKS TO THEIR SUNDAY DINNER 12.08.18 AND AFTER RINGING THEN UP ALL I GOT WAS A DISGUSTING ATTITUDE, SAYING WE DRANK TOO MUCH, I'M SORRY WE ALL HAD SOFT DRINKS.... ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING ATTITUDE...... WILL NEVER GO BACK... NOT RECOMMENDED

Always excellent food and well prepared, but, the following is intended to be constructive and further improve customer service..
On two visits, delivering our meal, we were asked by the waiter if we needed anything further. In both cases the waiter failed to return with our request. Guess a bit of training will resolve this.

Went here yesterday they have workmen doing new car park so parking issue and we sat inside because dust was blowing from the workmen drilling and digging going all over the poor people, inside was not much better so please call ahead first to see if the work has been completed
