Don't go to the Apple store to fix your items; come here! This is the best customer service I have ever received from anywhere, not limited to tech stores.

I may just be unlucky with Apple repairs, but every time I'm there, I end up having to fix a new problem (e.g. an entire issue with my T2 chip when I just came to fix my defect keyboard). In addition, what bothers me is that the Apple self-proclaimed "geniuses" never actually acknowledge my technical problems. Currently, a lot of Apple Macbooks are having what's called the "stage-light" issue, and I am certain that the "geniuses" at Apple would have nothing to say about my problems - either out of ignornace to the problem or because they were instructed by the higher-ups to not acknowledge the problem. The technician I met at the Micro Center was the complete opposite. I dropped off my laptop to the technician who would actually be doing my repairs (unlike Apple where you're never really talking with the "Wizards of Oz" technicians behind the Apple store). Every technical issue I brought up to him, he knew precisely the underlying problem. It was refreshing to talk with someone who actually works with your computer. I've been working one-on-one with him since; for example, the technician personally texted me when he said he was going to order a part from an Apple retailer. You can expect a prompt reply from the repair guys.

When I came back to pick up the laptop (only ONE DAY later), I was also greeted by amazing customer service. They tried to make sure everything was okay for me before I left (started up the computer and asked me if everything looked alright). Plus, it seemed like they gave my keyboard a good cleaning, even though I came for a monitor issue. Later, the manager gave me a handshake and said, "I hope you had a good experience here." You bet I did. And you can bet Micro Center has a new, loyal customer. I can't gush enough about how great this place is.

I've only gone to here for a repair, but I will most certainly come here for future equipment purchases too. I'm sold on the customer service and the business model the Micro Center has. When it comes to repairs, they're here to fix your problem, not sell you other stuff (something maybe big Apple does). And well, I guess I'll also come here for future purchases too now, since I can expect them to quickly resolve any issues, should there be any.

Photos: First two show the "stage-light" problem and a weird "orange spot." The last picture shows the problem fixed!

Best electronic store around. They have a robust selection of PC hardware, TVs, monitors, and other electronics. They sell real components and hardware for enthusiasts, not just pre-built PCs that you would get your grandma for Christmas.

They have excellent deals on clearance and refurbished merchandise, and it's always worth it to take a look around the store and see what you can find.

I've been going here for over 10 years with no issues, if I can't find something the staff is always there to help. This place is a curse though, as I literally buy something every single time that I go there, shame on me.

Great selection of electronics. I don't know where else I would go to buy high end PC parts in person. They have pretty good sales and a great price match program. They offer a lot of perks which is why I would love to give them 4 or 5 starts but I have to say that their floor associates are terrible. This is the only Micro Center I've ever been to but it's either someone more experienced who always seems to be busy and isn't available to help or it's someone who is new who is way too pushy about asking if you need help. The WORST is when I go and find everything at Micro Center by myself and then get bombarded with employees on my way to the checkout line because they want to put their little employee sticker onto the items in my cart so they get credit for the sale/commission. I do get a great sense of satisfaction when I say "No", so there's that. Once I ordered a monitor that was on sale so I could pick it up at the store without having to spend too much time. Got there, item wasn't pulled. Floor associates couldn't find the item. Someone found a similar item and tried to send me on my way with it but I pointed out that the serial number was different - had to get a manager involved who was able to find the right item and resolve the issue but I shouldn't have to watch the whole process like a hawk to make sure I'm not being screwed...and a quick 15 min pick up at store transaction shouldn't take an hour...

Unfortunately I cannot give minus 5 stars (-5) which they deserve!

I will NEVER shop at Micro Center again! I had trouble paying with a bank check apparently it did not have enough details on it. These were temporary checks I received from my bank while waiting for new checks.
I went back a few days later, this time with cash in hand; small bills ($20 or less) had just got from the bank. I happened to get the same teller who I had issues with a few days back. He proceeded to process my items which was approximately $200. He then took the money and used the cash marker to test if it was real cash. His explanation was that "It was a lot of cash"!!!!! I got my merchandise left and spoke to one of the managers who said that checking of money notes was done for large bills ($100 or $50)! I subsequently returned my items. I will be returning the monitor I bought a few days ago as well and will NEVER GO back!

Apparently Black people have to pay with coins because we either rob banks or make counterfeit money! Keep your store! I am sick and tired of this stereotype nonsense and will be doing something about this. I hope this doesn't happen to anyone. The individual was a young Asian by the name of Alan. I totally wasted three hours of my time just get insulted by this jerk who thinks lying about store policy can hide his prejudice! This is not the last Micro Center will be hearing about this!

Huge selection, good prices especially for a brick & mortal retailer, and some pretty knowledgable reps. I haven't bought anything major from here, so I can't really comment on customer service or returns.

Went to buy a small adapter that their website had in stock, but three floor personnel couldn't locate it in the poorly organized aisle. But, got a good external hard drive at a great price, so it wasn't a wasted trip.

The employees here know their stuff. On top of that it's got any computer piece you need, people have built computers from scratch with parts only from this store. Lots of good deals for all your computer needs.

I went in to get my macbook graphics card checked out and the man who helped me was the most upfront honest and helpful person. The customer service at this location is outstanding. Everyone is willing to help and explain things when needed. I will DEFINATLY be making my next computer purchase here when the time comes

This place is amazing. They have everything that comes to computers. My only grip was their "DIY" section of electronics was in shambles. It was the reason for my visit and I couldn't find anything and the packages were mostly damaged. Overall the place is a haven for geeks.

I bought MacBook Air In Aug.2019 on Tax-free weekend. 2 days before that I visited the store in Cambridge MA, the sales associate in Apple section Mike Parsa was very knowledgeable and showed me different Apple products and in a simple way helped to understand them and pick the one that was a right fit and also the warrenty for my requirements.
Thank you Mike Parsa.

Helped us out in a big way. We went there with a Lenovo laptop (a brand you should never buy) that was continuously running out of HD space without us installing anything. One of their employees went out and increased our memory for free. They were a god send. If you ever have trouble with your laptop breaking down you should take a visit to this Micro Center and they'll do their best to help fix your problem. This isn't a paid review, I promise.

Micro Center is dope

Micro Center is dope
The associates (very polite) knew what they were talking about, and they have a legit sales incentive program
PLUS they had those hand cruncher things like the things you use to improve grip strength
I use that when I'm stressed listening to idiots

As always, they had enough selection to require thinking about the choices. I only wish the store weren't in Cambridge, but it is better near MIT than our would be downtown in Boston. It is pretty accessible of the Mass Pike, so I shouldn't complain to loudly.

It is better than Amazon.

The customer service is pretty decent. Social awkwardness is abound with some of the employees but don't be put off by that. Most everyone is fairly knowledgable- and at the very least friendly.

Prices are competitive, store is generally clean, and they have w great selection of computer bits too.

Avoid the cheap items that seem to good to be true. You get what you paid for, and that $2 optical mouse is going to work exactly like you would expect a $2 mouse would.

Whatever type of computer or accessory you need, they have it. They sell Apple computers and laptops and a full line of Intel based computers and laptops. If you want to build your own pc, they carry all the parts you will ever need to create the ultimate PC. They also carry a great selection of printers. What more can I say, they have everything. I wouldn't say they specialize in smart phones, but they probably will have what you are looking for in that department too. Clearly the best computer store that exists if you must see and touch and sometimes operate the device before you buy it. (Especially laptops).

I have been going here since it opened quite a few years ago. Today there was a mix up with my order and they fixed it to my complete satisfaction. This is the go-to place for pcs, builds, peripherals, TVs, and storage of all kinds. They do their own repair work, so it's highly worth it for anything that is hard to ship. Highly recommended even if you're not a nerd like me.

So, they've got an amazing selection of components at good prices. However, I can't give them a decent rating for two reasons:

1. They sell returned defective merchandise as "clearance."
2. Their salespeople are pushy and condescending.

Edit: The actual manager contacted me and we were able to sort things out from there. I am glad that they did not take forever with their investigation and I finally got an apology for their mistake and for me having to make a third trip over. I will be going back again for that refund and for any other computer parts that I may need in the future. Bumping back up to four stars and I hope this won t happen again!

The guys that help you look for what parts to get are amazing, but the department that deals with checkout exchanges/returns is where I had a terrible experience. For some random reason, I had a SSD storage device added onto my bill that I did not even ask for, or grab. As soon as I heard the cashier, Alan, mention SSD, I told him that I did not get one. So he physically removed that part from my bag and I thought he had removed it from my bill already. I later find out after getting back home to a different state, that I was charged for this. I try to call Micro Center but there seems to be no phone number to directly speak with anybody, so I decide to text their text-only support about it days after. A few weeks later, I finally have time to make the drive back to Cambridge, after not getting anymore responses back from the Text Support number. Alan says he doesn t remember anything at all, and they have to go through an Investigation just to make sure I m not going through all of this traffic and hassle just to score a 1TB SSD... What sucks the most is that, him and his manager tried to make me feel like I was the one who made the mistake of waiting for so long to do anything, when they were the ones who charged me for something I had no intention of buying. Also, I was waiting for their support to respond back to me the entire time because everything was text-based and I couldn t speak with anyone.
I guess this was my fault for trusting someone to remember to remove an item from a bill after physically removing the item away from my purchases and having them email me my receipt.
Depending on how long their investigating takes and whether or not I get my money back, this has been a 2-star experience and 3 stars if I get my money back.

I'm a fan of brick and mortar stores because you can see and and hold the products at a store before making a purchase. This is a simple but key point of differentiation compared to online retailers (e.g., Amazon).

Yesterday, I visited Micro Center in Cambridge to see if I can try out a joystick I have been eyeing for a while. It was critical that I have a chance to try it out, because I place a lot of importance on the smoothness and level of resistance of the throw. When I looked at the price tag at Micro Center, it was significantly more expensive than the going price at Amazon at the time. I figured I'd still give Micro Center a chance if I'm given the opportunity to feel out the product. When I spoke with an associate at Micro Center and asked if they have a unit that is already out of the box which I can try, he said no, and he also indicated that it would not be possible to take one out to try. There was absolutely no effort to try to cater to my needs.

It very well may be the case that it is their policy not to tamper with their products, which I understand. However, at least in my mind, it makes a lot of sense to allow customers to try out products like joysticks since the feel of a stick is very important, similar to how it is critical to display the image quality of a TV. I was further turned off by the associate's "NFG" (No F*cks Given) attitude. Great in-store customer experience is half the battle (if not more) for a brick and mortar store, and it very well might be the only ways they can compete against online retail giants.

I ordered the joystick on Amazon after getting home, especially since it was much cheaper and I know that if don't like the feel of the product, I can just return it at no cost.

This a great place to get items for a cheaper price! The service is beyond one's expectations. The staff has a friendly, knowledgable and professional attitude and lots of helpfulness. The aisles are clearly labled and they always have everything stocked up so the place doesn't look empty. Here you will defiantly find everything you need from PC parts, motherboards, disks to flash drives, etc. This place has it all! If you haven't been here and you're needing a new device, come here! You wont be dissapointed!

Everything you ever needed for computers and more. Lots of geeks everywhere. Prices are good but not always the lowest. You can find better savings shopping online but then you have to wait for delivery.

I've been going here for years and I've never had any problems until recently. I bought a bad motherboard which I swapped out for another apparently bad motherboard. I took it in for diagnostics, they said it was the ram... That didn't help... Then they said it was the case
... Again, not the problem. Three weeks after I brought it in for a second time they haven't given me any answers. I think the tech is avoiding me they say they'll tell him to call me when he gets in, he must be on maternity leave or something because this is getting ridiculous. So now as I wait for the tech Tom to get back from lunch which I think he's been on for two weeks now I wonder how these people retain any long term clientele. I guess no one ever gets fired from this place. But all in all, be careful what you but here, and do not go to their tech department because being an audio engineer I've lost about 3 clients in the past month because of this place

Purchased a television with my dad today as we were leaving the alarm went off with receipt in my dads hand ,the mgr ran to me as I proceeded to go back to the register and asked what else we take?. Treated us like thieves very unprofessional he needs proper training if he is going to deal with customers. The nasty comment and dirty stare he gave us after realizing my elderly father did pay for his TV was un called for. It definitely was his attempt to intimidate us, he was in an elderly person's face with anger for what? To prove what? That we are not wanted there as customers I guess

MicroCenter have made a name for themselves for having a great selection of computer parts, pre-made computers, and accessories. Knowledgeable associates, but they're often under a lot of pressure to sell.
