I stayed in November of 2015. As shuttle bus from airport arrives at station of Southern Cross, we chose hotel near station from. Because the purpose is half work, it may not be a feeling that it is convenient for sightseeing spots because it is commercial.

Room did not feel new, but did not think that it was narrow as there was around 15 square meters including bathroom and was one. The feeling of cleanliness is also minimal.

It is not a hotel for people who are expecting honeymoons or traveling abroad.

Because I live in Sydney, I think the price of accommodation and eating out is less than $ 100 per night and I think this is not a bad option. The food was finished at the station Coles.

For the $80 I paid for a single room, these people went over and above the call of duty, outstanding service. The rooms were clean and have everything you need. The only fault was I could hear other people coming in and out of their rooms. Highly recommended!

Great location, nice clean room, not very big tho. Continental breakfast is very weak for my taste, just yogurts cereals bread and marmalade and some fruits, very basic. But hotel is in center of town, rooms are clean and for this price its great deal.

Good.

The worst experience I ever had ! I know it s 3 star hotel but still you want to have clean room that s the minimum you can ask I can t tell the first day I arrived was midnight in the shower was long black hair on the wall and the sheets in bed was small black hairs everywhere I didn t want to stay but couldn t cancel the staff at front desk was so nice he came to room and and took some photos the manger next day wanted to see the room he said to me this is upgrade room even made me more angry as I preferred a clean room and nice sleep more then upgrade dirty room and was paying $135 per room with parking I don t suggest this place at all the staff are nice but realy wane a get good answer for these 3 nights of my stay as I complained 3 times about cleaning as I couldn t cancel my reservation when I reserved in booking I don t SUGGEST THIS PLACE
If cleaning is important for you we had 2 rooms the other room had the same problem with cleaning

It does the job! Bed, roof, AC, central location. Not sure what more you'd expect from an Ibis. Note that the shower is wild though - alternates from boiling hot to freezing cold as you're showering (with maybe 10 seconds of lukewarm middle ground if you're lucky). Be ready to jump backwards to save your skin.

The location of this place is excellent.
But the rooms are too small. I have been to various other countries and cities but i have never found such small rooms. We were 3 people and coming from abroad to spend 25 days in Australia, so had one bag each. The room got occupied with 3 bags. Even the bathroom was also small.
The place was neat and clean. But the house keeping didn't do a good job. The bed was not made up properly. Not even the bathroom cleaned properly.

Stay was fine other than the group of (homeless??) bums permanently stationed at the entrance. One guy was visibly smoking a glass pipe, which I doubt was tobacco. What's up with this, management?

Great location. 4 minutes' walk away from Southern Cross Station and airport bus terminal. Under renovation. Had great room with good amenities for some coffee or tea, hairdryer and even iron and ironing board. Quiet hotel. Within the free tramzone.

Very bad experience. My friend and I live in there for four nights. Noise (heater) keeps us awake. Don't want to live in this hotel again.
A very poor housing experience. My friend and I stayed in Ibis for four nights, and every night was overwhelmed by the loud noise generated by the heating, which seriously affected our mental state the next day. If you have the chance to go to Melbourne in the future, you will not stay in this hotel again.

Shame!

Rooms are small and very basic. But courtesy of the staffs make up for it. The best thing about it is the location of the hotel with multiple food joints nearby. One thing they can surely improve is the quality of the breakfast.

Good location, but the property is Dated ..Renovation was in progress (oct'17)......no inhouse coffee or bars spots to entertain guests / relax, no attached restaurants..rooms are not easily accessible from the lift area, I felt cocooned. if u r a someone that is looking for space and light and nature, this is not the place.

The hotel is at a great location. All the relevant places are at walking distance from here. It offers a heavy and tasty breakfast to tackle the rest of the day. The automatic pancake machine is the star. Basic but essential facilities in the room.

This hotel is old, and whilst effort has been made and the rooms are comfortable, the walls are paperthin, causing a lot of lost sleep and embarrassing noises that one really does not want to hear.
If that is not bad enough , the building projects going on next door wake one up very early. Service adequate, but watch out 10 steps up from street so no possibility of anyone unable to walk or carry their own luggage.
Breakfast quite good value and friendly. No other meal services offered.

great location, located in free tram zone and close to tram station and southern cross station.
booked 1 double bed+1 single bed room,
got room no.10, room was clean enough and spacious, bad thing it was located at the corner and in the old building (behind),
a bit smelly corridor, and it s hard to bring my big luggage through the stairs with carpets.
staffs are helpful.
not sure about other rooms.

Great shower and comfortable bed, this is a budget hotel, so nothing remarkable but a convienient location around the corner from southern cross station and sky bus terminal. Saturday nights you might get some "duff duff" music from nearby nightclubs but nothing too bad.

Room was small but well laid out and good enough for my short stay, the shower was nicely done the hot water and water pressure were fantastic. Tv had Netflix app so I could log onto my account, plenty of milk coffee and tea available in the room on a nice little bench. Bed was so comfortable and pillows felt new.

Some of the hall ways are in need of a really good update but the hotel is in the process of refurbishment.

Although a lot of hotels in have the standard breakfast this hotel had a bit more variety which was a nice touch.

The bus from the airport stops at the bus station which is two streets away. The walk wasn t a problem and it saved me having to get a $50 Uber from the airport. The free tram to the city centre is within two streets either side of the hotel, small walk.

All in all I d book again great value for the money.

Rooms with micro windows at the top, so no possibility of looking out. Big room but very little space around the bed, so it's difficult to move. We asked for a room change due to panic problems and they didn't satisfy us.

Don't come here. My partner booked a room here as we had to stay in the city overnight. What a disaster.

This place might be cheap but because of this it attracts a really bad crowd. People getting knifed out the front, drug deals, etc. If you value your safety choose somewhere else.

There were
A lot of noise in the room all the time, day and night, the rooms face an interior patio with a lot of air conditioning noise
Terrible breakfast, coffee, toast, yogurt, some candied fruit, pancakes ... no cheese or cold cuts
The bathroom ok

Quite neat and tidy. If you are looking for just accomodation for a short stay, this should work just fine. Don't expect anywhere near luxury. It reminds you repeatedly that its a budget accommodation. Service is not consistently same across all staff. One young lady there went out of way to help me out for searching for a lost item in another room I was switched out from. While there are others who are not exactly courteous. And for heaven's sake please have some wardrobes installed in rooms (that's basix!) else you physically live out of suitcases at present! All in all its just about ok for the price they charge.

219.00 for a small budget room, The foundation is cracked up so bad I thought the roof would cave in. They said we had to pay the price because it was new year. Then paid 35,00 for 1 contential breakfast, I think there dishonest. Staff only wanted money. No smiles. Go somewhere where you are treated as a person
