Room was a bit outdated and rundown and could really use a renovation. So it's a good thing that the hotel is currently undergoing renovations, which didn't cause any noise during my stay. Bed was very comfortable and bathroom is great. Breakfast is great value for money, and there is a pancake baking machine :).

The hotel is comfortable the room adequate tiny window you can't see out of. Breakfast hmm, well continental no much to eat, no cold counter so fruit and yogurt warm no ham or cheese. Or continental meets. You can get a cooked breakfast pay extra.
But on the bright side the staff and management were very helpful and friendly, the hotel clean and tea and coffee making facilities in the room. And a fridge buy your own food and store it.

A place to sleep. Good location and good internet. But that's where it ends. Way overpriced (there was an event on in the city, so I am imagine it was some convenient price gouging) Its in desperate need of refurbishment. Paint is literally peeling from every wall in my room (and it was a bad paint job to begin with) and everything is very worn out and dated. Time to get a refurb guys.

The room is the size of a shoe box, but it is neat and functional. Bathroom has been nicely done up and is pleasant to use. But, the "continental" breakfast they serve is not what an European would call it. Maybe they meant to say African continental, but it is certainly neither Australian nor European. There is no trace of protein in it. It is a mish-mash of sugars and fats. If you like fruit, muesli and yoghurt, fine, but if you are at least expecting to get a boiled egg, you will be sorely disappointed. Not at all good value for money, I'd say.

Do not, do not, do not stay at this hotel. That is my very strong recommendation. I can't stress enough just how bad this place really is. Firstly, the noise is totally and completely unacceptable and I can't work out why the owners are not forced to advise guests before staying at this poor excuse for a hotel that they will get no sleep because of the adjoining night club. And if the sound of thumping bass till 5am isn't enough, throw in screaming, swearing and obnoxious behaviour all night and well past the 5am completion of the night club and you get a sense of just how noisy this place is. I can't stress enough just how bad the noise levels are; I feel sorry for staff because as they said they get complaints non-stop but can't do anything about it. They could handle the complaint better, but ultimately the owners MUST , I stress MUST tell patrons before staying there and paying good money that their stay will be completely ruined by this noise. But wait, there is more. The advertising on the website is completely false and misleading to the point where I will be taking whatever action is possible to seek redress. The room we had was filthy, there was a massive great pylon in the middle and nothing in any way shape or form like the advertisement claimed. The windows wouldn't close - I mean, it is not impossible to close the windows in the room we had. The sliding door into the tiny , filthy bathroom was broken and gave you no privacy whatsoever when going to the toilet. There was mould on the door jam, what looked like I'm not prepared to say on the door, the shower head dripped, the water was cold, warm, cold and hot. I could go on and on but it makes me too angry to recount the horror of this place. I took photos which will be sent to whoever I can convince to do something about this place. Stay away, read the reviews here and on Trip Advisor and heed the warning. This place is a disgrace.

A hotel probably best described as 'functional', friendly staff and a decent breakfast buffet holding up rooms which have seen better days (although they are clean). Great location in the CBD, and it's hard to argue with the price, but there's not much to tempt you into staying in rather than going out.

The room is small and slightly moldy. Only bread and flakes lined up if you do not order breakfast. I think that there is such a gap even in the same Ibis. It is not worth staying, as the price is the same as other Ibis.

Sadly, this was one of the worst hotel stays I have had in my life. (We spend at least 30 days a year on holiday in hotels) The hotel is OLD and DIRTY, the carpets probably have not been cleaned since the last gold rush and the spring bedding is worn out. The breakfast has stale bread which is still cold from its night(s) in the fridge. The people and service is nice, location is obviously great, but overall it's a no go!!!

This hotel is conveniently located, directly in the heart of the Melbourne CBD and close to landmarks such as Southern Cross Station, Old Melbourne Gaol, Melbourne Museum, Queen Victoria Building, and the State Library of Victoria amongst others. While the location is incredibly convenient, the rooms themselves (including the bathrooms) are very small and not very practical. There's no point having a TV in your room if there is no viable angle at which to watch it. The heater and air conditioner in our room very both very loud and the floors didn't look like they had been cleaned properly prior to us arriving. Other than this, I did find the staff very welcoming and the service generally quite good. I'd happily stay here again but it isn't a hotel that I'd use for a 5 star relaxing weekend away.

Stayed during Grand final weekend, looked at the pics and was wowed only to realise once I got to the hotel that the place doesn t look anything thing like the pics online , looks very old in the corridors, the lift looked dodgy cracking sound going up and down, once we got to our floor cracking floors , walls and paint peeling off , some entrance to rooms had the floor peeling off, got to our room as soon as we opened the door very bad odour from the carpet not what we expected the shower looked old and rusty and dirty, the windows were filthy , breakfast also disappointing my young son couldn t eat anything from there we all had to get breakfast from somewhere else. All in all a bad experience.
Management later on arranged for a free upgrade after we complained , the next room we got was one of the new ones a bit better than the first one but still , windows were filthy just some old rubbish you could see through the window. Cleaners have good attitude and good customer service, a lot needs to be taught on their reception staff especially the day we were leaving.
