Loved my recent Hyatt Regency exoerience! Great front desk staff & "perfect room," great linens & all needs met instantly (esp 1am toothpaste call). Prompt room service & great Daily Grill desserts. Computer space & time always avl.

Only downside: Mortons bar & steak dinner experience was terrible. Staff strained which spilled over into my wine or lack thereof & terrible filet mignon dinner. Skimpy value as in nothing on the plate but sad steak....go figure?

The whole place is under construction. The reservation was made on my behalf so I'm not sure if an email went out, but if they had my contact info they should have notified me. Pour air quality due to drywall work and new materials on the More

We stayed overnight here on 04/05/2014 the hotel and staff was super nice room was nice and clean. However once we got on the road I realized valet parking had stolen my phone charger out of my car. I called on 04/06/2014 to report it and they said you have to make a report while there. I stated I did not think I needed to inventory my car before I left that I paid for a service. Manager was extremely rude and told me basically there was nothing he can do and didn't even offer an apology. I called back this morning and spoke to the manager he said that he cant believe it they have long time employees and never have issues. I said I understood that but I am 10000 percent sure that they took it . It was plugged in when valet took my car away. He says he will investigate and ask around and call back tomorrow. I do not think that I will hear back from them. Please think twice about staying here and trusting valet.

Decent place to stay. Interior decor very fresh and modern. Great location and surrounding area, many great places within walking distance. Front desk incredibly helpful when requesting service. However, not very forthcoming with information unless asked. The iron in my room was also beyond its life expectancy, not only in appearance but also leaked water. I had to request a replacement, which was replaced in an acceptable amount of time, but this was after time was wasted to discover original iron had broken heating element AND had leaked a lot of water onto my garment. Soda vending machines on floors is cash only - 2.50 but does not accept higher then $1 bills. Price to service earned this 3 stars.

I was there for a conference and the ballroom was not setup that well. Area felt cramped. The elevator from the garage also spat us out on the exterior of the building. This could have been marked better. Overall the experience was alright.

We stayed there for our post wedding, pre-honeymoon trip to Cali. We stayed in the suite. The staff were extremely gracious and allowed us a late checkout. Valet were friendly and prompt. Good stuff!

One of the worst hotel experiences I have ever had...

One of the worst hotel experiences I have ever had. I made reservations for 2 nights and at time of reservation informed them I would be arriving at 10PM or later. When I arrived, they took my debit card and placed a $600 hold it. The front desk staff then realized there were no rooms available, despite me having reservation. They blamed this on ongoing construction and also because some guests they had expected to check out had not checked out (why these guests were not asked to leave if their reservations were up was unclear). Only the most desultory of apologies were given for the inconvenience.

It took the front desk staff 30 minutes to get me a room at another hotel (it was described as being "across the street" but was actually 2 blocks away). They did pay for the night at this hotel, but inconvenienced me further by having me come back to the Hyatt for the second night and charged me the full price for it. They placed another hold on my account for several hundred dollars.

They turned off the water for 4 hours during my stay, and did not offer guest any additional amenities such as free bottled water when they did this. When I tried to call the concierge or front desk with a question, all I got was a busy signal.

Six days later, and the initial $600 hold for the night I never stayed in their hotel is still on my account, although the charges for the night I did stay there have been paid in full. I called for assistance to get it released and had to repeat and spell my name multiple times for the front desk person who had difficulty locating the record of my stay. She eventually located my record and said the hold should expire within the next 4 days or so, but she would transfer me to their accounting department to see if it could be removed more quickly. She then transferred me to a voicemail box.

During my stay it seem the hotel was understaffed, and the front desk staff were overwhelmed, incompetent, and had poor customer service skills. I would never stay here again

Our thermostat in our room did not work at all. They had two maintenance men cone up at separate times and tell us everything was fine. But the room was hot enough to sweat in, heat was still kicking on despite setting thermostat to 65 (lowest it would go). Finally offered to move us but as it was our last night we opted not to. Turned off the unit and opened our door to compensate with hallway air. Made it through.

The room was nice and the service was great. The room looked nice and was very clean. Breakfast is available downstairs through the Daily Grill Bar and Restruant, it was on the expensive side but was very good food. It's right next to the Metro making travel into DC or the surrounding area easier. Great place.

Pros:

Pros:
Clean rooms
Friendly staff
Close proximity to metro station next door

Cons:
No mini fridge
Wireless internet that is pay per device per day
No exhaust fans in the bathrooms!
A botle of water placed in my room that's $3.75. It just irritates me to see that everything in this hotel room can be had for an additional cost.

Overall, the cons would not make me come back.

DON'T LEAVE STUFF IN YOUR ROOM - IT WILL BE STOLEN!

I recently stayed at the Hyatt Regency for a medical research conference Nov 2 - 4th. The hotel at best was mediocre (old rooms, loud heater) but the kicker was that I left some expensive shoes there by accident when I checked out. I had a small suitcase that I carried on both ways and my bag was never left unattended. When I got back home, I tried calling Lost and Found a few times as soon I unpacked. After trying for two days straight (also left messages), they assured me that they would "look into things". That was 10 days ago. I still haven't heard a response. Either one of the staff members found these shoes and took them or they didn't clean the room well enough to find them, and the next guests found them. Either way - I will NEVER STAY HERE AGAIN.

This hotel is beautiful, I came here for a week long class and this is one of the nicest hotels I've been in. There was some confusion with my reservation but they did resolve it on my 2nd day here which I appreciated. The staff is nice and very helpful for all the questions I have asked them. The room I was in included a humidifier and is certified pure which my wife would of loved had she came. I will definitely visit again.

Very nice event location. Renovations at entrance. Staff was good. No idea how the guest rooms were. Near Metro station but you have to walk outside to get there. Unlikely to return in the future because I do not see a need to be in the area and I prefer Hilton hotels.

This hotel has recently been fully furnished and is completing the exterior. A fantastic hotel to experience and right on top of the Metro rail Red line that transports one around the Washington metropolitan area.

Likely the worst Hyatt Regency experience I've ever had. This property should have been closed. If I knew it was in this condition I would not have booked. Street level signage is so inadequate, the Uber driver circled the block three times trying to find the property. I also just ordered a room service Cobb Salad that looked like it was assembled using a food processor! And to add insult to injury, when checking in, the front desk has pre-printed flyers informing guests there will be no running water between 1:30 - 4:00 pm tomorrow. If there was a rating below terrible, I would picked it. Over the next year, I am scheduled to travel to this area monthly, there are plenty of options available, and this property will not be one that I select.

Staff is wonderful and the rooms are nice. We were there when it seemed the building had just been built so the building as a whole still had a few quirks like the parking garage. None of the issues seemed to be the fault of the Hyatt.

Great location directly above DC Metro stop. Within walking distance of plenty of restaurants. Room was very clean and updated. Under construction during out stay, but the noise was never bothersome

Service was poor. We left a note for housekeeping in the morning to leave additional towels because there were 4 people in the room with 2 towels and 2 washcloths. When we returned in the evening, we still did not have enough towels or washcloths. Three calls to the front desk later, we still had no additional towels. This is unacceptable for a Hyatt property.

I have never been so disappointed with a hotel customer service in my life there unwilling to fix a problem that they had made by double charging my card. Which place all my funds on hold. Leaving me and my pregnant wife sleeping in the car with no money

The room was lovely, large and clean. Bathroom too. I was not impressed with the desk staff at all and I was there for 4 day s. No smiles, curt, took me several tries before they made a correction in my reservation. There was one outstanding person though - Graham. I did not encounter him until I was checking out however, which was really unfortunate.

Bed linen a bit grubby. Aircon smelled musty so turned it off. Tea and coffee in room, but the tap water tasted foul, so used the overpriced bottled water. Fire exit stairs had chairs and cardboard stored in them.
Breakfast was at the bar (no restaurant) with almost no lighting and plastic utensils. Expect to microwave your own dodgy-looking sandwiches for breakfast if you want something vaguely resembling a cooked breakfast. I just had fruit and oatmeal and two pieces of one-sided toast with orange juice - $13! This is Regency living - welcome back to the 1830's.
