Friendly and helpful staff. Fantastic location in midtown Manhattan
Good location. Hotel without luxury, but good value for money.
I stayed here for one night. I liked the central location next to the Empire State Building! The room was clean, but not that spacious, but it was fine for me. I would choose this hotel again in the future!
Great location, very nice staff. Easy to get around.
The important thing is very well: the rooms are large, big beds, large bathroom, it is clean, the treatment of the employees is very friendly, it is very well located. In general it is a good hotel. The only 'buts' I saw him were: 1) he only has 2 lifts and he has to wait a lot to get one in the morning at rush hour; 2) the breakfast is a bit repetitive (eggs, toast, cereals, bananas) although it really has everything and it is cheaper than having breakfast outside; 3) the hum of the air conditioners of the room (this I think is a constant of NY, not something typical of the hotel)
Excellent breakfast included, refrigerator, USB charging, pretty sofa in addition to the bed, tea and coffee set with daily renewable supplies, fast free wifi, everything is clean and almost new. Well done!
Service was excellent, very nice employee especially the night shift.Good location very close to time square.
I was very comfortable in this hotel. In comparison with others of the same price, the room is more comfortable and does not feel small. The staff was very friendly and helpful. They speak Spanish and always smile. It touched me a room on the 23rd floor with a view of the Empire State Building from where you can see it every day with its different lighting. Almost next door there is a business where they sell very tasty food that you can take away. An excellent alternative is very economical to buy there and dine on the terrace of the hotel with an amazing view. I recommend it.
My Manhattan hotel, if they improve the breakfast and the super elevators
There is a good quality price relation
Stayed here the last 4 trips to NYC. Herald Sq is a sneakily great central location for tourists. Hotel is simple, but high quality with unintrusive, helpful staff. Wish there were more vegan breakfast options outside of bananas and apples, but they did have almond milk for the above average coffee service.
The room is great, but the building is a bit old. Pretty cheap in NYC.
Strategic location between Times Square and Korea Town. Fair room rates and very comfortable beds. Travelled a lot and what struck me was the very courteous and thoughtful service by the front desk staff. Came early and they welcomed us to complimentary breakfast knowing we were probably tired and hungry.
The breakfast options are very limited. No waffles. Check in took forever. No lotion, cotton swabs, or any other bathroom commodities you would expect in the room. There was only shampoo, conditioner, and soap.
Hotel very well located in the center of New York. Beautiful views of the city from the upper floors. Good attention from the staff
Great hotel in a great location. The rooftop terrace is breathtaking with direct views of the Empire State Building. Very rich breakfast.
Subway within 5min walking distance. Windows do not really seal, i. you hear everything from outside. Refrigerator cools very loud at night - had to take it off.
From the hotel, sights such as Rockefeller, Times Square etc. are within walking distance.
Friendly and helpful staff.
Great room, very large and comfortable.
Good breakfast
Very nice hotel centrally located, clean and with extremely friendly staff.
I warmly recommend.
Excellent clean hotel in a nice New York Manhattan location with courteous staff
Great staff and decent size for the room, given it new york. Free breakfast and they allowed me to hold my bags before check in and after check out. Only issue was the toilet kept running, had to flip the plunger in the tank a few times to make it work.
Very nice hotel Excellent location. The spacious and beautiful rooms. The staff's attention is very good, there was no staff that spoke Spanish, but they tried hard to make themselves understood.
The breakfast very good.
The neighborhood is very good and there are several places to buy food near the hotel.
The room itself was fairly average. After some check in issues (the room key just wouldn't work for unknown reasons), my stay was great. The staff is super friendly.
Rooms are compact but well maintained. Excellent location, 2 blocks from the Empire State building. No issues with the bathroom, coffeemaker, TV or fridge. We were upgraded to a 2 queen bed room with a view of the Empire State building by the night manager - never got his name but a really sweet large guy with a unique neck. Breakfast was good, clientele were mainly commercial, suits abounded.
Now, here's why it got 4 stars instead of 5. Parking is up the street at Meyers garage (busy garage, very decent people, and I'll get to why in a minute). The hotel charges $49 for parking, the garage charges $55 plus tax. So you get a few bucks off when you stay here. Valets at the garage seems to believe the discount is a lot more - I was told $20 more - but that's hearsay and I am not concerned with this discount or markup.
Here is what happened - we drove in and stayed for 1 night and parking is valid for 24 hours. We spent time in the city after we got our parking validated at the hotel while checking out. Validation consists of a sticker they stick behind your parking slip. Thankfully I had NOT prepaid my room, and so the parking charges showed on my bill during checkout.
Sometime that afternoon I lost my parking ticket. I naturally called the hotel and asked for a duplicate validation as I had already paid. I was told by the day manager on 4/9/2018 that I would have to pay again!! He admitted they have a record of my payment but refused to provide me with duplicate validation or even a note for the garage up the street!
Thankfully I was able to show my hotel receipt with parking charges to the folks at Meyers garage, who very reasonably asked me to fill out a form before releasing my car.
I cannot believe that anyone in the hospitality industry would do this to a hotel guest. What if I had prepaid for my room and just paid separately for parking? What proof would I have had?
If I ever stay at this hotel again I now know what to do with my parking.
Great location, friendly staff, mediocre breakfast, good room cleaning but improved.
Top view on empire state building
Great location convenient to mid-town. Small but comfortable rooms. Elevators can be slow if you're in a hurry. Nice staff.
The worst hotel I have ever stayed at. After politely asking us to clean the room because there was a dirty sock in the bathroom they opened my suitcase because they didn't trust us and they thought we had put it .... Mrs. Annabelle of extreme rudeness. bad value for money.
Very good Hotel, but had the problem of a stopped elevator. Breakfast rooms also good.
We had no place to stay after having a problem with Airbnb apartment ..at the front desk was a life saver Justin Burton. He is like an angel. He helped us to stay in this wonderful hotel ...if anybody needs a great place to stay please come here ... thx Justin
Hotel is very clean. Rooms comfortable with beautiful view from the window.
And another thing......location, location, location!!!!!
The hotel is in a great location in Midtown. The rooms are spacious and clean, and, unlike many other hotels in NYC, have a small kettle and a selections of tea and coffee.
The staff is very friendly and a ready to help.
The breakfast is great. Good selection if cold and hot items, fruit, pastries etc.
The doors of the rooms are very close to each other, so you will hear people going in and out. On each floor only two rooms are far enough from the lift.
The major problem is the fact that most of the rooms have their windows onto a noisy street, with a large bar just opposite. So make sure that you are given the highest floor possible, or you won t be able to sleep without earplugs.
Hotel was nice, staff was friendly, breakfast was typical, but the Internet was slower than dripping molasses on a cold winter day.
Very good service, breakfast is varied. The cleaning in the rooms and in the other public places is very good. In the lobby there is water, coffee, you get free from 10 to 21 approx. recommendable
Bad service, it is not enough to have decent rooms when you have indecent employees, who are unable to help and explain anything to customers. You must also be careful because they block the checkin and also retain the same amount already paid as a deposit (a practice often used in the U.S.).
Average breakfast but down.
Good value for money. Great location. Friendly staff
Perfect location of the hotel from the bed on the Empire State Building. Uzasne snidane. Completely all around 4-5-6 Avenue at a distance, in metro.
Bargain room small but comfortable. View amazing. Breakfast great.
Friendly staff and the location is perfect for business and leisure travel.
Great clean hotel. Rooms are spacious and comfy. Staff is nice. Location is pretty convenient. Walkable to times square, Korea Town, and subway. Quick room service.
Superb location! Walking distance from so many places, including Times Square, Bryant Park, Empire State, NYC Library and many more. Three minutes from the subway and even closer to the bus stops. Excellent service and great breakfasts too!
Excellent price-quality ratio, very comfortable, extremely friendly staff, clean and modern hotel, very good breakfast and excellent.location
Very good location, in the middle of all the action. Polite and helpful staff. Excellent views of the Empire State Building. Ask for a room on high floor, with a view.
Amenities was very didappointing! No room service - understandable due to covid - then do all you can to accommodates your guests like supplying disposable plates. You have cups & utensils, why no plates.??
Soaking rug from the rainfall on 11/30 - room smells like wet dirty clothes.
Unknown of pet cleaning fee $75.00 & the list goes on...
Clean, spacious, comfortable bed. Friendly staff. Convenient location!
Everything is close Metro Station, stores, kindly stuff. I loved to be there
This place is centrally located, high priced but faraway from what I expected from a Hyatt Place.
Unfortunately I got a not well maintained room, crowd breakfast time and not prepared staff to deal with the issues I've experienced.
The Hyatt is a pretty good hotel especially for its location if you're visiting the sites and shopping of Herald Square/Empire State. Pleasant front desk staff but they seemed understaffed.
The rooms are more like 3.5 stars as my experience deemed them on the smaller side than average NYC. The bathroom was nice and clean. The room less so. The front desk very quickly responded to my requests for extra towels and pillows.
And the terrace! Fantastic! Great for visitors and reasonably priced.
The location is excellent and the staff very friendly. However, they had no courtesy for the clients.
Clean comfortable room in great location. Good restaurants near by
Nice hotel, tidy, water and adequate free at reception.
Very central, friendly staff and great buffet Breakfast!
I just sat outside while waiting for friends inside was fine
Great location but their business is too good that they only check us in late afternoon (we have to wait in the lobby for more than an hour) and demand that we check out by noon the next day
Good hotel in a great location for visiting attractions in Manhattan (but the traffic is noisy, take earplugs!). The viewing platform on the roof is a nice touch, with view of the Empire State Building. Cleaner throws stuff away a bit zealously - if you take your own teabags etc., put them away when you go out.
For 400 dollars per night there was no room service, breakfast left much to be desired, attention and bad service, you had to ask for shampoos every time, I do not recommend! The only good thing is the location of the hotel, steps away from everything!
Room was clean and neat. I'd never been in a hotel room without lotion, though I didn't try to request because that seemed like a hassel. Our room faced the street which was pretty loud with dump trucks/construction/garbage removal.
Wonderful view of the Empire State Building. Very nice location, it s near most visited city attractions.
Was a great hotel. Staff were friendly and courteous. When we asked for fresh towels, they were delivered in less than 5 minutes. Room was impeccably clean, quiet and comfortable.
Serves breakfast but we never got our asses in gear in time to try it out. No bar or restaurant otherwise, but you're in Mid-town so there are plenty of places within steps of their door.
Will definitely stay here again.
The hotel is conveniently located in the heart of Manhattan, 10_15 minutes walk from Times Square and Empaerstil bilding.Tak also close by are a few metro stops.
The friendly and helpful staff ready to help in any matter, from dry towels and toiletries and print a route map to the desired attractions.
The rooms are clean but small, family of 5 for us was tesnovato.Luchshe take rooms on the higher floors, we lived 20 less noise and better vid.Zavtraki very scarce, a complete lack of vegetables and a small selection of fruit, only bananas and yabloki.Spasaet situation that in the area there are a lot of cafes and restaurants.
I stayed in this hotel twice & find it pretty decent except for the last experience i had. I was charged double for my room as i used another credit card during payment. They charged me with the credit card i used during booking as well as the one i present for payment. I sent them an email back in end May & didn't get a reply till now although i resent it again. This is really irresponsible not to address to customer after they left the hotel.
Reasonably priced central new York hotel, very helpful staff. Rooms were comfortable
Nice location, you will be very close to everything like macy's, time square, bryant park, empire state,..
Friendly staff, Big room with a lot of space, Amazing view from your room and Good breakfast.
Good ubication
Practical
Good breakfast
Excelent ubication. Nice rooms. Good breakfast. Personal very kind and helpful
Recent stay was wonderful! All staff was very friendly and helpful! Great location for visiting NYC!!!!
Don t recommend at all: noisy air con, no water pressure in the shower, water tastes and smell like bleach, cheap breakfast
Nice room. Decent view. Great shower. WiFi didn't work for some reason.
I have to say I really enjoyed my stay here. It was my first time in New York City and wasn t sure what to expect for my first time. Upon arrival I was greeted by friendly staff. The lobby was neat and organized. Understandably our room wasn t ready at 9:00 am, so the front desk agent offered to hold my luggage until it was ready, which was fine I had a lot to experience that day and the staff got me super excited for my first visit more so than I was. My partner and I arrived back late in the evening our luggage was retrieved and we went up to our room. Upon entry we noticed we had an amazing view of the Empire State Building from our room. We then ran for the lounge deck in the top floor to get an even more amazing look. We had a great sleep and we found no issues of cleanliness. I do wish breakfast lasted longer. Upon checkout the desk agent offered to store our luggage again so we could get some sightseeing in before our train departed. Would love to stay again.
only 2 elevators total.... causes a wait during prime time.
Very clean, friendly staff, very large breakfast selection, great location!
We were there for a week with three children. Had a room on the 22nd floor with a great view of the Empire State, which is just around the corner! Our room was very clean, bright and friendly. The breakfast buffet is very rich and everyone can find what they like! There were different types of bread and bagels, yogurt, quark, muesli, eggs, waffles, pancakes, sausages, fried potatoes, fruit ...
You can walk to Times Square in about 15 minutes and the Empire State is just 5! A subway station is also a 5-minute walk away.
We will come back for sure!
Great location! You're walking distance from Times Square, Penn Station, the Empire State Bldg and a lot of good shopping. The free breakfast is really good as well
Hotel is nice but very costly but the location is fabulous
First, let me say that the hotel room itself was fine, as were most of the staff. The breakfast looked better than it actually was, but acceptable. The reason for the 1 star rating is as follows: I needed to spend a week in Manhattan. As an Expedia rewards member, I found this hotel for under $200 a night, and decided to book it for two nights since I had never stayed there, and wanted to make sure it was as advertised and a reasonable walking distance from where I would be spending most of my days. When I received my confirmation by email a few minutes later, I realized they had only booked and charged me for one night. I immediately called the front desk, explained the error, and asked if they could make the correction. I was told that they would not be able to match the rate and that the rate had to be set through Expedia. I called Expedia, and THEY said they would have to call the hotel to get their permission to do so. The Hotel manager refused, and then Expedia informed that they could not add a night but would have to cancel my reservation ( at $200.00 / night ) and re-book it for 2 nights at $500 plus a night ! ( $1025 with tax, more than 5 times the advertised rate ) I asked the Expedia rep if she realized what she was asking me to do, got a moment of silence, then I refused, and kept the one night @$200.00, since they had already charged my credit card. I arrived at the Lobby and spoke with the manager. He said he was unable to help me since rates are subject to change without notice. I tried again the following morning, and would have been willing to accept some type of compromise, since we were already checked in. But there was absolutely no effort form management to even try to adjust the rate even though there was plenty of availability. The only response was Sorry , our rates are subject to change. I checked out and spent the rest of the week at a 4 star hotel 3 blocks away. It was like a classic bait and switch scheme which I would not have expected from a Hyatt Hotel. The next morning, while sitting at breakfast in my new hotel, I received an email from Hyatt, welcoming me to the Hyatt Experience . Really???
Large clean room.Helpful staff. Great free breakfast lots of choice. Central to lots of places to visit. Was there Dec 4th-8th Dec 2017
Everything you expect from a Hyatt. Great hotel. Great location
From January 26th, I will use it for 8 nights and 9 days and leave a review. The room was Room 207 and it was on the 36th Street side (to the north).
1. Location
-34th herald st. It takes less than 5 minutes from the station. 35th st. If you use the NE corner exit (inside the intersection of the Courtyard by Marriott Hotel side), you can use it across the crosswalk.
-There are many convenient facilities such as convenience stores (Duan Reide) and department stores (macy's) nearby, and k-town (32th st.) is also close, so if you think of Korean food during a long stay, you may want to visit there.
-Subways B, D, F, M, N, Q, R, W are all transfer stations, so it is easy to go up and down.
2. Rooms
-It is relatively large compared to the per room rate. A must for New York hotels! Please check the area of the room carefully.. (If you look at the detailed information of the room, it comes out. 20 square meters = 6 pyeong is okay)
-The windows are a bit poor, so the noise is not blocked at all. It's a little noisy even at dawn. If you are sensitive to noise, you need to prepare separately.
-The draft was severe, so the heater had to be turned on the whole time. Dryness is a bonus.. I got a little cold, so I took a microfiber pajamas, but it was a good thing.
-The bed is a little hard, but it was pretty good. The bedding was okay too.
-There is no slippers, electric kettle, free bottled water, and mini-bar in the room. The closet is a little narrow, but the toilet space is ample. Hot water is good, but it can be a little uncomfortable because it is a fixed shower.
3. Other matters
-I haven't tried breakfast, but it seems to be free for Hyatt Online members (confirmation required).
-There is free coffee and tea inside the lobby, and the coffee is great. I wake up right away. The taste is also good.
-Staff are friendly. I tend to give immediate answers to questions. When we arrived at about one o'clock and asked for check-in, they guided us directly to where the room was organized. However, when I ask for something, I get it a little late or don't change the towel.
-I didn't feel uncomfortable staying on the 2nd floor, but it seems like I've seen the opinion that it is uncomfortable because there are only two elevators...
Location is great, near herald square. Rooms are nice and clean, you can join a beautiful view on the city. Breakfast is very good, you can get as the same products as Starbucks one. On the top of the hotel there is a beautiful terrace where the view is stunning.
Very good stay. Very central. Clean and comfortable rooms. Breakfast included. And good price
Fantastic staff, great location, we were there with family to celebrate my 50th birthday, so my wife had contacted the hotel in advance to see if we could have a room looking out on to the Empire state building. They did not disappoint, they also left a basket of goodies and a bottle of wine.
Strategic point to any place
The very kind attention of the people who received us at reception
Breakfast was "buffet" all packed due to covid
In the room there was a coffee station and aromatic waters
Excellent price / service ratio
Large rooms for NYC standards, Great friendly staff and quality breakfast offered.
I stayed in a single king bed room that had a nice view of the Empire State Building. The room was very clean and the free breakfast was delicious. I hardly heard any noise from outside or from my neighbors. It s perfect for those who are walking or taking public transportation as it s very close to a subway station and a ton of great restaurants. It s also close to some of the main tourist attractions such as Times Square. I would recommend this hotel to anyone!
A perfectly located hotel in midtown Manhattan. Rooms are well sized, clean and comfortable.
