We stayed here for five nights and was really happy with the hotel. Rooms were a good size (for New York,), hotel location was awesome - 2 minutes from the subway, 10 minutes from times square, 5 minutes from MSG and Penn Station, and the continental breakfast was a nice added bonus. Staff was very friendly and helpful as well.

Great location and accommodations. Arrived hours before check-in, and the staff stored my luggage for me. This allowed me to get a jump on site seeing. Breakfast was complimentary, and the menu changes daily. Get breakfast early to ensure you get a place to sit and food. After checkout, my return flight was cancelled. I went back there, and they put me up for the night and were very sympathetic to my situation. Considering it was a Friday, I was surprised how easy going they were with me. Can't wait to go there again.

The hotel has the best location. Central in the fashion district and close to all best attractions. But the rooms are outdated and the breakfast is cramped. Choose only it needed s central location.

The rooms are as expected for a city hotel. Don't rlexpect a normal sized Hyatt Place room! But they are comfy, clean, and still a good size. The staff is very friendly. The only reason for taking away one star is the breakfast. It's a bit chaotic and most of the food needed to be refilled when we were in line.

Room was cozy and the staff friendly but there stay ended on a sour note when I was required to pay for an additional 24 hours of parking @ $39/day because my car was over the 24 hour period by 45 minutes. Hotel refused to comp this or even work out a better deal.

I had to take a business trip here at the last minute. Of course I was price-gouged, but I guess that is to be expected with last minute trips to Manhattan, even if it was a Monday night. I paid almost three times the going rate for a modestly appointed room and got stuck in the elevator once.

I had to leave the next day in a hurry and left a dress shirt in the room. It was a very expensive brand new custom dress shirt. I called as soon as I got home that evening and left a voicemail with the lost and found. It took two days and a complaint to finally get ahold of a person instead of a voicemail; of course they have no knowledge of anything being left in the room but promised they would check with the housekeeper. I have now called for four days straight trying to get more information but no one can be bothered to return my calls.

Hyatt has lost my business.

TLDR; price gouged, modest rooms, clothing I left "disappeared". Never again on a Hyatt property.

This hotel was great! The rooms were a very nice size with plenty of space, and the view out my window of the Empire State Building was incredible. Free breakfast, spacious rooms, friendly staff, what more could you want in the big apple!?

Good, clean hotel... Ideally situated for most attractions. Breakfast leaves a little to be desired although adequate. Elevators tend to be very slow at peak times since there are only 2 serving both guests and the hotel staff.... Friendly check in/out.

The Hyatt is a great place to stay while in New York. It's very central and close to a lot of things and the staff was nice. My only small annoyance would be with the room (bathroom specifically), which had a leaking faucet when using the sink. It wasn't a huge deal and my girlfriend and I didn't want to get moved to another room for this so we just dealt with it. But definitely let the staff know after our stay. Otherwise good time spent here!

Only one of the two elevators for this 26th floor hotel is working. It takes a long to to get down to the lobby and up from my room. We ve had to take the stairs to our floor on the 20th floor several times. We were not told at check in that one of the elevators was out of service.

For New York standards and considering the cost benefit this is a very good hotel, comfortable room, very helpful hotel staff and a much better breakfast than the usual continental continental coffees in the United States.

If you looking for bad service and bed bugs, this is your best choice.
My friend and his wife invited my wife and I to spend 3 days in NY. When we got there, we found out that our reservation was placed as a king size bed with a couch. So we asked to switch to a double room with two queens. But the answer was that they did not have one.
A few minutes later we were told that they had one, but they would have to charge us $220 a day for the switching. Really?
We ended up sleeping uncomfortable for three days.
The worst part is that we got bitten by bed bugs.
Unbelievable! A weekend to forget an hotel to remember...

Location is good but both rooms I had were incredibly noisy. Asked for a higher floor as other reviews suggested and was told "it's not possible". If I can't count on a quiet room, even on request, I can't recommend this hotel and won't stay again.

The service was very poor, the rooms were dirty my sheets had a red stain on it when I asked to change my sheets the young lady said all the sheets are like that, the staff are clueless, rude and unprofessional and most of all they look dirty I couldn t distinguish them from the homeless. The hotel had no hot water for several days they did put a sign up until the second day. The area where they put out breakfast the rugs are dirty it looks like it did not clean for months that area there is a couch that is where one of the staff hangs out I am not sure if he sleeps there, I went down to inquire about the hot water and he did not even move from the couch it was really bad this hotel is a dump and staff puts it in the gutter. The people give Hyatt a bad name. I they don t deserve a one star.

Loved our stay (: really clean, great room! Staff was accessively friendly, and even held our bags for us while we checked out New York and they were getting our room ready for us earlier than check in. Extremely accomodating and they even had breakfast. We were able to see the city from our room too. I really loved our stay. We came during a really busy time to see a concert at MSG and their hotel was well priced and wasn't over packed. You should absolutely stay here!!

Stayed at a really nice room on the 25th, with an absolutely amazing view of the Empire State building. Staff is helpful, breakfast could be a bit better, but it's ok if you're not too picky.

After spending a night in New York with no place to go after a different hotel refused to check me into my reservation. I was exhausted, with a cold, and indeed of a place that felt like home. Than Expedia found for me Hyatt Place New York City Midtown South just 10 minutes away. I walked in and right away I realized this place was different; they kindly checked me in right away and from the beginning I felt at home. My room was large, the bed was big, and slept so well past breakfast :( Still need to work on that wake-up call... but still I can t begin to thank them enough for their wonderful hospitality and a most excellent stay.
