This place is a big hit or big miss. Really depends on crowds and conditions. I've been going for four years with season passes and some days I love it some days, well, not so much. Food options are decent, lifts are good, and their double blacks could be more challenging but that's about it.

Our family spend two unforgettable days on this resort. The equipment we rented was in really good condition. As I m the beginner, the personnel helped me to choose right size of the helmet and board, also I had a group training with the young but professional instructor Jack, as I remember. He explained us the basics and checked if everybody understood him and was riding right. My husband was snowboarding by himself, he really liked the mountain.
We were lucky that it started to snow the second day of our snowboarding experience here, but there was too many people and the wind was awfully strong. I fell down and understood that I ve broken my arm. I would like to thank the guys from Medical Center for their invaluable help! It took them not more than 15 minutes to find me and my husband on the mountain, to splint both my hands and to transfer us to the Center. I want to thank Mimi and Kate and also a man, whose name, I suppose, was Sam - I was in pain and did not read it on his badge. All that happened on Monday, December 25 at afternoon. I am not sure if they remember me, but I will always be grateful for their concern!

2020.02 great ski place. Good training lesson for kid. My son learned basic in 2 hours. Way better than another near by Bellxxxxx, whole day learn nothing. However, this is a more advanced location for skiing.

Dated, crowded, dirty, mostly junky terrible food options (think 90s rest stop). One group lesson was a seminar, with 18 people. Could be clearer about rental times. Our family won't be back. :(

Now on the Vail Resorts Epic pass. This is a close mountain to the NYC metro area so it gets very crowded. They have pay lockers for one dollar each time you open it. Go to the information window on the main level to buy tokens.

I like going to Hunter for the convenience but there are always long lift lines at the base. Also the mountain is never fully open, let me repeat, never fully open. This mountain always has that secret ice under snow so be careful. Oh did I say its never fully open, with the costs of lift tickets they could do a better job of grooming - good luck

I am not sure what made current management change all we loved about Hunter... As an example of the latest stroke of genius, register will not sell lift ticket for 12-4 untill it is 12, thus taking about 20 minutes off the time people could spend skiing. Looks like we will have to look for alternatives to Hunter.

I've been going to this place for over 20 years.. setting aside the mountain which has somewhat limited train relative to Vermont and certainly out west... The lodge is a bit dated and the rental equipment that my daughter used it's also a bit dated. Generally speaking they do a good job of maintaining the mountain the food (at cafeteria)is Meh... And pricey for what it is. My favorite if the bar... In terms of layout and music.

Horrible customer services. Getting a refund/credit is impossible. During this time, reliable customer service is extremely important and perhaps a determining factor when purchasing tickets. It s impossible to get through to anyone, when you finally do they pass you on to someone else who cannot help or provide you with a contact number that does not work. They literally toss you around until you finally give up and quit calling their lines. I even reached out via social media. Save your time and money and go elsewhere.

This place used to be better. While you knew that it would be crowded, at least it was well run. Well, not now, thanks to a big conglomerate taking over and most likely slashing expenses to squeeze what they can out of the place. The old attention to detail and organization seem to be missing. And, instead of the knowledgable the staff who were well known to regulars just a few years ago, Hunter now seems to import alot of their workforce through a foreign visa program. These folks are nice, but they don't know the place and they can't help you out if you have a question. And if a lift stops operating, forget about getting any clear information from staff. You are better off asking another skier for help who knows the place.

Terrain is great, and the trails are typically groomed well. Not giving five stars because they do not have enough ski patrol presence. People ski/board recklessly on the new trails especially.

I stayed at a friends house here so i cant say anything about the accommodations, but skiing was great here for a beginner. The try-pack at hunter mountain is a pretty good value. You're limited to the newbie slopes, but thats where you'd be anyways.

Went to get tickets and was told I needed to have my child with me in order to get the double snow tube. I was being serviced by a shorter male with a very weak blonde beard. Very feminine in stature with Chris written on his name tag. It was roughly a 20 minute wait to get to the window. Not an issue, my wife got my son and I continued to wait for the next client to finish her purchase to get my ticket. It just so happened, without being to my surprise, Cashir Chris granted that client two children s tickets without seeing her kids. To be honest he didn t even mention it to her the way he did to me. It s apparent Chris didn t care because after I brought it up he failed to say anything about it. There is no other conclusion i can come up with than Chris possibly has an issue with manly men. It was coupled with a smile and a sly have a nice day sir. It s a very unfortunate day that I chose to this place my time and money.

Went skiing on the slopes. Had a lot of fun and everyone there is super nice. Snow was a little bit icy but it was hot and hasn't really snowed this year so its expected. Will definitely be going back!

The mountain of choice for far too many, this is often mockingly referred to as one of the harder mountains as you are often avoiding drunks on the slopes. Far from challenging or good, it is very much a north eastern ski mountain a

Slopes are absolutely amazing. Tons of slopes. They have many faces to the mountain. The snow is good when it's not super crowded. The only problem is when it is crowded. Lines are very long and the slopes also get crowded. If it's crowded, I'd suggest going on West face. It's always empty there and it's amazing

Hunter's Octoberfest is always a great time. The last couple years they've added additional weekends and activities which really makes it fun.

My only concern is that they might start to need security at large events. Beside the fact that people are drinking, our party had an issue with a group that was trying to pickup left behind items. We left items on chairs to hold our chairs and apparently a group was trying to make off with our items. There was a member of our party was with our stuff but the would be thieves tried to argue with them. Luckily our group wasn't deterred, but I wonder who else had their stuff. . .

Went there in late May but loved the ski ride to the top of Hunter Mountain. $12 for adults and $10 for kids. Its weekday prices and round trip. Can seat upto six people at once. Great view and fun. Lovely vantage point where you can also get hitched.
