I have to go back to try the zipline, but the hiking was enjoyable.
Only two trails open on west otherwise real good conditions
Was there for a wedding. The place also has condos which was very nice. The condo that we stayed at felt like home. 2levels and 1 1/2 baths. You see the mountain top which was breathtaking..
Great Skiing slopes, camp grounds, hiking traila, good food and friendly service
Great slopes can get very busy on the weekends with very long wait times at the lifts!!
Best place to take picture with your WONDERFUL DAUGHTER
I've been at Hunter Mountain for a long time. They've got trails and terrain for everyone; no one feels left out. Skiing not your thing? They've got tubing and the hotel for you. Beginner? Hunter One. Know what you're doing? Main mountain trails. Expert and looking for a taste of the Rockies? Hunter West.
The off-season festivals are amazing as well. Mountain Jam, Oktoberfest, TAP NY... they've got everything.
Always will love hunter! Skiing and the resort are always accommodating. Every experience there has been lovely. Their rooms are great and very clean with a beautiful view of the Mountian, summer or winter.
There was a blizzard the other day in NY, and we received 10 inches of snow. My buddy and I decided the snowing conditions would be great for winter sports. So, we got our lift tickets online the night before, and we went to the mountain. More
Crowded on the weekends of course. Everything is pretty expensive ($8.50 for a beer and $10+ for mediocre food at the base lodge). Don't go to the summit lodge. Nothing to see unless you need to use the bathroom. Worst cheese steak I've ever had at the summit lodge. Basically steak-em and flavorless cheese sauce slopped on a soggy hotdog bun... For $15?! Come on! Skiing was good though! Snow crew does a great job! Improve the food and the lodge and this could be 4-5 stars.
Poor experience with overzealous employee kinda ruined it for me and my family. Don't recommend.
Hunter is a great mountain to ski/snowboard. This time I went snowboarding and retrieving rental equipment was no hassle. I found the whole process to be organized and moved quickly along.
Food selection at Hunter though is pretty limited. There aren't too many healthy options and the quality is mediocre.
The slopes are great though. There's enough trail for all skill levels. I was able to check out the green circles and blue squares and those perfect. If you're new to skiing/snowboarding or experience I'd totally recommend you to check this place out.
Hunter is a good size mountain be only 2 hours from NYC. It has everything from beginner to several double blacks
While the weather hasn't been cooperating much this year yet (fingers crossed for this weekend's snowfall) this is my go to mountain that's within driving range of the city. Good trails, lifts are reliable, and the employees are friendly and helpful.
Staff was all very friendly and helpful with rentals and on the lifts. Slopes were well maintained. Great experience all around.
The best ski ride I ever experienced. Could use more food options.
Bad slopes condition and bad design. No good for family. Only for teen, 20 ages
Nice place. Admission is $12 per person, children 6 and under free. Minimum height to ride 36 inches
The rental takes FOREVER. We started lining up for the rental at 9:30, and it was 13:00 when we got all the rentals. They have the WORST traffic flow design, wasting half of our day.
Lift ticket was expensive for President's Day weekend. Strong winds uncovered a lot of icy patces, but we still enjoyed until winds got too strong and some lifts were closed for the day.
We couldn't have picked a better place to have our wedding! The staff was on point and exceptionally accommodating, we had such a great time.
Had a great time here yesterday with their learn to ski or snowboard package. Not my first time but fortunately they break up. Their lessons according to your skill level. Jeremy was the coach. Toe turning is something I've never successfully done after 5 times out but after an hour and a half I had it down along with the foundations of carving and we even had some fun trying to go over powder at the end. Shout out to Jeremy for a great lesson!
Great friendly staff, good food, and great mountain.
Color leafs, skyride, zipline. It's a great adventure. After 10th Oct to 10th Nov is good time.
The trails are crooked, narrow and overcrowded. Too much unruled folks on the slopes. The management of establishment has changed. Not for better! Ticket and pass prices went up. Now it is cheaper and more joyful to spend two weeks skiing in Europe than in USA. Thanks to air flight and ski resort corporations.
The best and biggest mountain within a 2 hour drive from Manhattan (no traffic of course). As of December 2019 they are undergoing changes in ownership which affect the customer experience. But issues like insufficient lockers should be resolved soon.
Good mountain, but the slopes were very crowded and there were long lines at the lifts
Best ski/snowboard resort with short driving distance to NYC
It's a good ski spot but very-yyy crowded especially on weekend, and the increased rush is definitely not managed well by the staff out there. Painfully long waits to get your rental equipment, and the instructors are not providing you a 1:1 experience especially if you're at beginner level. Bottom line, skip this spot unless you're a pro, and head to better spots up north in NH or VT.
The snow is bad, it has no gondolas, it only has easy and average tracks not recommended
Had a great time with my son who experienced his first time skiing and his instructor Carson was fantastic but not having the lockers available within the learning center / daily rentals isn't logical. They only rent lockers from the base lodge. So when my son and I returned our gear we literally walked in our socks outside about 200 yards to the locker area. I understand its a Covid protocol but there should be an easier way.
I've been going here for over 15yrs and I have not been disappointed with the Mountain and or the Staff in all that time. Great Resort!
Was there for TAPNY and it was an awesome experience. 3rd time to be there and it just get a better.
We go here for skiing each year. It is not far from NJ, there are many options for stay around the area which I love the most. We celebrated 2020 here and we loved it! Less crowdy than in February when we usually went there.
Beautiful place...inside lodge and outside! Scenery is awesome!
President's day weekend and they're running the main lift at half capacity. AT LEAST a 40 minute wait.
Great ski resort. Go on the weekdays though as the weekends can be jam packed.
A four hour trip from Philly...well worth the drive. Quick lines, great terrain.
Beer fest, mountain jam, always a good time even if not skiing!!
Very awesome, first time Skiing and I'll very much come back again. Instructor Chuck was very help and made the experience great.
Very sketchy place. Got taken down in a patrol sled and it was very outdated. Would not come again.
Hunter is a tradition for our family & friends! Especially Oktoberfest weekends!
Not a friendly Beginners mountain.
They hog up the mountain sitting at the worst parts on the trails. Otherwise, the staff does an amazing job making and grooming the snow
I DO NOT recommend the waffles here at the waffle stand. To much sugar pieces inside the waffle
Skiing was pretty good for the area. The food at the lodge was okay. The ski center was helpful and efficient!
The mountain is nice for the area, pretty good slopes and some trees for alpine skiing, the only thing is the lines are too lond if you go on a busy day, overall it's a good experience.
Great place for the whole family year round. Looking forward to the Ahimsa Yoga and Music Festival in November.
The area is always beautiful. No matter what season. Spring is great fishing in the local streams.
The zip line tour was amazing to participate in. The girls had an incredible time and could not stop talking about it.
Great ziplining and off road tours during the summer and love the snowboarding during winter! Not too far from NYC, good prices and hospitable staff!
The best ski resort close to NYC in the winter and even better when they have festivals. Worth the drive, they do everything top notch.
Pretty nice place. They have a good mix of beginner, intermediate and a few advanced slopes. The beginner slopes are easy to handle. They also have a nice learning center with good instructors. There are also nice area for snow boarding and snow tubing. It gets a little crowded during weekends, but if you go during the weekday, there will be plenty of space. No lines on the lift! You basically get the run of the place. Their food service is OK. Nothing special.
I spent time on a ski learning lession. Very good one for a beginner like me. However, lession went very slowly. It took two or almost three hours. I had only a few time left for self-pratice before my bus left. The foods were not good and very expensive, considered to price to value. And if you are going to do a one day ski trip, you had better bring less stuff or you need to rent a locker for $5 and $7 for your backpack in addition. By the way the skiing there was very enjoyable.
Although I don't ski they do have several other events throughout the year that I attend & the are done well.
Besides the food being way too expensive is my favorite local mountain
Great place for beginners but don't go on the weekend .only midweek
As stellar a skiing experience as you can get near Jersey. Crowded during weekend.
Always a great experience coming to ski in hunter. Try to come on a weekday as weekends are crowded.
So much fun for October Fest. But We went back to ride the lift to the top and walk around. The zip line looked so awesome but you need to make an appointment for it.
Had A great time. Did the Zip line and it was a great experience. I just did the mid mountain one as the big one looked like too much for me. Its approximately 650 feet above the canopy of the trees and something like 1000 meters long and that's just the first one of 5 lines you do. The mid mountain tour was 6 zip lines and 4 rope bridges. the highest was like 75 feet and just a few hundred meters long so it wasn't terrifying lol . there was also tubing in a near by river which was really fun!
Not many green slopes. Lessons are not good. We still had fun. When there is more snow the place might be more fun. We stayed right by the slopes. Literally walked out into the ski area which was fantastic.
Went to Taste of Country Music festival. Sheriffs Department deputies were very nice and very helpful. The Security Company that was hired were polite and helpful. They did there job very well. We personally saw a few instances that they handled very professionally and quickly. 1 of which was involved the State Troopers who were equally professionally. However the security in Blue shirts did not in my Opinion do a very good job. There was a fight between 2 girls in front of her. The crowd was pushing in. Someone yelled for them and asked if they were going to help. They did not! My daughter is fine and with the help of someone behind her she was pulled away from the fight. The people in Blue shirts should I believe be following the rules as they other company.
Great mountain, slopes well cared for. General patrons do not seem to be very polite. I heard that from other people, but did not believe it until I saw it for myself. It's true.
