Staff and lifts were nice. Not the biggest mountain, but OK for a day trip.

It was great. Went ziplining and stayed for the Octoberfest. My friends and I had a ball.great weekend getaway.
Love it
I always ski there it's a cool place
I only went for the Discgolf course they set up on the slopes in the off ski season. The course was very nice to play as well as to take in the sights. They workers who were there were nice and helpful. The course is also free to play, you just need discs. If you don't have any already they have a pro shop that sells them there. Way to go Hunter.
Friday is good. Saturday the lines are long. Overall a fun place
Great mountain for first and experienced skiers!!! I loved the room size and the place was great for family relive and the prices where reasonable.
Went to beginner zone and the personnel was very helpful. Learned how begin snowboarding.
Solid mountain to get some good runs in without having to venture too far away from New York City. There are plenty of bus options to get out there that can take you round trip in a day, plus there are enough runs to keep you satisfied.
Awesome mountain, lots of snow, very steep there is almost no way to come down without going through some black diamond trails. Overall we had a great time, most of the people were skiing but there were some snowboarders, the terrain park is small too.
Awesome visit. Zipline was fun. Well organized. Staff on top of their game.
I went to Hunter mountain for a work trip. The resort we stayed in was phenomenal and decorated really well. No complaints. If you go to the top of the mountain get the Mac and cheese burger. The snow was a bit carved up towards the end of the day but otherwise really great trails.
Great Jamming tunes in the Beautiful Catskills Mountains with a Massive Stage at the Base of the Hunter Mountain Ski Resort!!!!
I love hunter mountain and mountain jam however I had the misfortune of having to ask a question to the director of the entire event, regarding a transport to the handicap area for my father. I have never met a more disrespectful, arrogant, and childish man in my life. After his screaming rant where I thought he would have an aneurism just to prevent me and my father from talking. He forced my father's who is confined to a wheel chair to walk several hundred feet to the handicap area. Where the amazing and extremely accommodating, ADA staff,( Dan, Woody, Ashley, and Anthony, Who are second to none.) Did a fantastic job all weekend, they are the only reason we stayed the weekend. For this point forward I will never attend an event at hunter whith that individual in charge.
Hunter Mountain was awesome, my wife and I took our two boys snow tubing and we all had a blast. We definitely recommend people going here
This is an easy hike for people who are starting out, great views from the fire tower.
Suuuuch a great time! My sons and I took lessons and learned so much! My instructor was incredible! And the price was better then anything else we looked at. Thanks Hunter!
Fast and efficient rental process. Everyone was nice and attentive.
This is a double review. My niece had her wedding at the resort on the top of the mountain. Took the ski lift up to the ceremony which was breathtaking! They offer shuttle service for who can't do the lift. The reception at the Cooper Tree was wonderful!
The downside was the hotel. My room was never cleaned from previous guest. Even after 4 requests for bed to be stripped & bathroom cleaned. Spoke with general manager who said they would refund my sister's credit card. When my sister called about the refund she was there wouldn't be a refund as their investigation showed the room was given basic cleaning. Would NEVER stay there again!
Skiing was great, fantastic conditions, good beer available, love going there
When I ski on the east coast, I make sure it's at Hunter Mountain:)
Actually, it's the safest bet when you question snow making and the conditions of the trails. Love it.
We had a GREAT TIME! They treated us TOP SHELF! Can't wait till next year...
Taste of Country Music Festival in beautiful Catskill Mountains, Hunter Mountain, NY
Five stars because for as many people there this weekend at the festival, the staff was polite, the grounds were clean, security at the gate did their job quickly and got everyone through, the food was good, and above all the music was fantastic.
Wonderful time. Beautiful scenery. Can't wait to come back in the snow
Bottom line is it's close to NYC with a few exciting runs. But the excess of chairlifts put too many people on the hill. Looking forward to trying the newly added terrain.

Good
great place to ski. Never ever rent ski equipment from this place. They are horrible in the rental department. a fun day of sking was almost lost my the rental department that made it so difficult for me to just rent a bar of ski boots that I will make sure I never rent any equipment from this place again. Please beware of the rental department.
Fun and fast. Triple set of jumps was fun.nice steep landings.
Good service, fun slopes.lifts are fast well some are. But overall it's a fun mountain
Best place for new bees. You have the best instructors to teach you from basics. A 90 mins class helped us ski on our own for next 3 hrs. You'll love the experience.
Great place within a reasonable distance to drive from CT.
The skiing was excellent and the routes that were open were well maintained, however there were some really crazy people that really shouldn't have been on black diamonds. Another issue was that alot of the mountain was closed, if it hadn't been so warm the week before I would give a lower rating. But the skiing was really excellent, was just annoyed by how busy it was really.
Love it! It's close and challenging. You have everything there, from Green to double diamond trails. Check the east and west sides to avoid the traffic.
Normally Hunter is awesome no matter what the weather is. And the Slutsky family really knew how to take care of the conditions with the best s lama king and grooming on the east coast. But this season has been extremely disappointing. Despite the $8M investment in the new North area, there has been absolutely zero effort in snowmaking, grooming, trail marking or crowd control this year. Conditions are horrible, the worst ever for Christmas/ New Year s week. And still no snow being made despite low temperatures. Extremely disappointing- bring back the Slutsky s!! PLEASE
Outstanding experience! Great high-speed lifts! Trails for all skill levels!
Great for beginning and intermediate skiers/snowboarders.
Best place! However when the winter is almost over the snow is obviously less puffy and nice to ski on. Good service and nice employees to give you some training haha
30 minutes and counting waiting for the bus to come pick people up from the parking lot.
Alot to do here. Skiing group training sessions turn out to be bad as they don't teach much.
My wife and I took two of our grandchildren age's 4 & 6 to ride the lift to the summit and explore some trails. Arrived just in time to watch a group leaving on the zip line pretty cool. A beautiful clear summer day the views were spectacular. A great way to spend a few hours with the kids.
Amazing skiing, relatively small but great snow and trails
It becomes very expensive under new ownership now! And still one of the best mountains in Upstate NY
I pass through the area to service fire suppression systems at the Country store across from the mountain. Always a pretty view. Love to watch the skiers descend. Love the surrounding towns, i also like to see the revitalization of the homes, etc. Someday I'll make it on a non business related venture.
The group lesson was excellent, ask for Jose for your first timers lesson. Fun for everyone. Come early!
Sadly it s not Covid safe at all. I was there 2 weeks ago and lots of disrespectful people were not wearing masks in the lines. There was no distance between people. The staff working the lines wouldn t enforce the mask policy. They didn t care at all. It was like a normal ski day and it should not feel like that. On the other hand, at Stratton VT, staff was constantly asking skiers to mask up. I felt much safer there. I shall not return to Hunter.
I was actually working there but it is a great place for concerts
Trails were icy skied off very quickly. Not real good for beginner to intermediate skiers in fact the few trails they had for that level became very busy. I found their rating system not comparable to other areas i.e. double black diamond are really black diamond. Lift lines moved pretty quickly. The ski shop boot sales woman was very dismissive when I needed help with my daughter's boots. I guess she was interested in helping others that may be buying boots. Her attitude and unwillingness to help really bothered me. Overall an interesting mountain that was probably an engineering challenge to create amoungst the cliffs.
If you like lots of maskless people drinking, vaping, cursing on long, long lines, the lift staff not enforcing covid rules, and an uninspiring mountain, this place is for you!
Nice and well worked spring snow in most skiing courses
Snowboarding is a blast and the people that work there can be very nice during the ride :)
Fun family ski resort. Van winkles restaurant has good food. Drinks are reasonably priced. Nice weekend getaway.
A ski resort in the winter like no other. The best place to drink German made beer during the Winter festivals.
Went to Hunter Mountain for Oktoberfest and had such a great time. The fall foliage was incredible. Took the ski lift up the mountain to view all of the beautiful colors. While on top of the mountain we watched the zip liners zip through the colorful foliage.
I went on St Patricks day 2017, it was my first time here, they were having a sale on lift tickets so it was pretty crowded. It's not a huge mountain so it can get crowded fast. There's only 3 main lifts on the intermediate side. One of the lifts only serviced a very flat trail where you had to push yourself half way down, maybe this section is better earlier in the season when there's more snow. I personally didn't find the trails all that impressive, they get boring after doing them a few times. There was packed ice on a few sections which I had to remain alert for going down the mountain. Having experienced much bigger mountains in Colorado I wasn't that impressed. Overall I'd say this mountain is good if you're a beginner to intermediate, and don't mind big crowds, otherwise I'd say skip it.
They invited snookie and the Jersey shore up there ...lousy mountain lousy snow and way to crowded .staff ridiculous upstate new York rude
Lines too long, needs larger lifts, spend more time on the lift line vs snow time. :/
It is very nice and tidy, but they do not rent all the equipment and skiing without glasses and without the special outfit is not a good idea.
Amazing views, staff was kind, place was cleaner than expected given it was a festival
Very nice mountains. A lot of hills and challenges. I like this place a lot.i saw accident on double black diamond. Be careful with dangerous skiers.
Paid for a VIP pass and when I picked it up, the man at the counter said I recommend getting in line for the lift by 4 , so I went and got in line for a snack and then headed to the lift but because of lines it was 4:30. They turned me away saying I had to be there by 4, I told the girl working guest services that I wasn t told the line gets cut off at 4, it was only recommended to me. I had already paid for my ticket and they wouldn t refund me. Basically all the VIP packages for Oktoberfest are a waste of money, and what awesome customer service to not help me out whatsoever with my lift ticket issue. Definitely do NOT waste your money on any type of Oktoberfest package!!
Enjoyed the view, beautiful place. On way back from skyride the people who work there dont pay attention much , didnt slower down the chairlift and we were with children. I was scared for my kids they might gonna fall bcz in a sec leaving deck you hit shallow mountain. We quickly try to pull down the rod to be in safe position and while doing that my husband got badly injured. Sadly they dont do first aid if you are injured.
I was at hunter mountain for skiing. The weekend was packed with people but it was not overcrowded. The capacity for the resort was good and it is relatively affordable.
Great MTN not that far from NJ. Only problem is they are getting more and more expensive every year. I heard they were just purchased by Vail?
Good skiing (visited November) although you need to be reasonably confident to get the full benefut from your visit given the challengibg runs from the top.
