Really great views but mediocre hiking. There were lots of tourists who just drive to the top.

Pricey and overcrowded (not their fault of course but ours) but the trails are good.
Please note - This review is based on the Snow Tubing Park I will post a separate review for skiing.
I know the park and the staff have no control over the weather conditions that affect the tubing conditions. That being said, at the very least, they could be attentive to the guests that are using their facility. Warmer temps made for soft/slush slow tubing runs. Our 4 year old would get stuck about a quarter of way down. The staff did not pay any attention and I had to hike up the run to retrieve the child. The staff members at the entrance to the carpet lift were more interested in their cell phones than ensuring the safety of the guests. There is usually a staff member at the top of the runs that will give the "go ahead" when the runs are clear and the next riders are able to head down the hill -- not here -- at one point there were 2 staff members at the top that were more engaged in conversation than monitoring the safety of the guests. Asked to speak to a manager who kept us waiting for over half an hour ( of our paid tubing time!!!!) and then she proceeded to defend all of the above mentioned disasters!! Poorly run and poorly managed!! Shame on you Hunter!
We had some nice time with friends and family in this beautiful place. Has lots of activities and adventures for all ages and in all season.
Beautiful mountain, I went in the summer, they have a zip line, a sky lift, a beautiful lake, and many other stuff, and it's very clean.
Its ok... but very unforgiving when I went today. A lot of ice patches and bumps. If you're new, go to big bear masthope in P.A smoother terrain.
Came with friends on a Wednesday. Had a grand time. It was empty, and the terrain was very good. The staff there is really nice, and the people as well. All in all, a great place. Would definitely come again!
Take the Sky Ride to the top of the mountain and enjoy the awesome views or begin your hike to the Fire Tower. The lodge is beautiful and the staff is great. Lots of festivals and concerts in a beautiful location in the Catskills. Oh...you can ski there too.
Beautiful place, but no grocery stores or other necessary amenities.
A great little mountain with plenty to do. I really liked the cafe at the top of the mountain, very cool. This mountain is a bit more geared towards advanced skiers/riders with mostly black diamond slopes. I stayed at Scribner inn up the street which is a great, welcoming and cozy spot.
I've been skiing Hunter Mountain for over 30 years. Have rented houses there, have had friends with their own condos there, and it used to be my local place to go when I lived in NJ. Love skiing there and also love going to the festivals in the off-season. Great hiking and decent mountain biking as well
Went skiing at Hunter for two days. I was disappointed that there were not more intermediate trails. I even saw multiple people walking down blue trails. The intermediate trails there were very short. The cafeteria was very expensive in my view, and the facility itself is dated. We will not be returning to this mountain as there are other options better suited for our liking.
Been skiing/riding at hunter since I first started many moons ago, always fun. They did a great job this year making snow!
Went in the a.m. for July4th. Gr8 tour guides. Awesome experience! Skyride tour is a must. Can't wait to do it again
Lots of beginners, but the snow conditions were great considering how little snow has fallen at Hunter
Being a smaller mountain, it tends to feel very crowded. With the majority of skiers at the beginner level, it makes for hectic and crowded runs. Many encounters with staff were unfriendly and frustrating. Mountain would be much more enjoyable on a non-holiday/weekend.
Had a fun morning with the family here. The lines moved along quickly. I would advise booking for earlier times as it begins to get more crowded after 12.
Very well organized (though there could be more signs as to where to go). The staff is extremely knowledgeable and helpful.
Very icy and crowded. Twenty minute waits for lifts for $80. Edges of slopes literally solid ice. Bad spot for beginner on this date anyway.
Family friendly. Great for skiing adult and young lessons.
The scenery alone! The appetizers were delicious, but I didn't xare for the main meal! The waitresses were very nice and pleasant! It was a beautiful day!
An amazing resort beautiful place, just be careful when you go up if you hate lines.
Beautiful in autumn. Octoberfest is always alot of fun!
It was very icy this time. They had 3 nights of cool weather to make snow before the weekend, but they didn't. Extremely icy. Some upper trails like minya konka were practically pure ice
Comfortable , professional wait staff, food is awesome. We'll be back.
Enjoyed the Taste of Country Music Festival held here at Hunter Mountain
Great mountain for weekend trips local to NYC. Lots of parking and not too far a walk if you arrive early enough. Good food available for lunch.
The mountain was excellent, the rooms are very nice and the restaurant is very good.
Like the place but gets way to crowded, and think their grooming could be better. Usually stay on North Mountain or ride K27 to mid mountain, not as crowded.
Had an amazing time skiing there. And great service
Had the best time ever. Instructors are awesome. Will go more often.
Great conditions today! The morning was a lil rough with super long lines since they had very few lifts open. later on in the day they were able to open them up and it cleared the lines right up
NEVER AGAIN!!! The skiers at Hunter are reckless (even the better ones), and it appears that the goal for skiers there is to race to bottom regardless of one s ability and others on mountain. After being almost clipped by multiple skiers, my 6 year old son and I left Hunter never to return. He is a good strong skier and I generally ski in front of him however I had to ski behind him to protect him from the reckless skiers, this was at his request.
It is time for the mountain to enforce the Skiers Responsibility Code, the first code is always stay in control and the second one is people ahead of you have the right of way.
This is no place for kids
My family attends the Fall festival every year and enjoy the the place and the views very much
I went for Tap New York and even though it was cold, rained and snowed, it was great.
The online systems is a joke. I am getting an error message and cannot reserve dates for which I know there is availability and I have already bought lift passes. I have sought out tech support to exhaustion. The enormous Epic phone tree doesn't even offer an option for Hunter. Nobody responds to the email address they send for support. I have emailed several times over the course of a month. Not one response. Pathetic.
Everything is good except for the foods! The foods in Hunter mountain sucks. No taste at all!!
Best hill within 2 hours of the city, hands down. Great snowmaking and fast chairs. The tickets are affordable compared to most anywhere else, especially if you buy in advance.
See the shop if you need bootfitting, they have excellent help and a fit guarantee.
Great variety of terrain. It was slushy weather so I couldn't try all of the terrain properly but West side was amazing. The only complaint was that the bar was cash only! Multiple folks were turned away because of that.
Was there for Tap-NY. A great event with plenty of food and great beers
Despite poor conditions, my buddy and I had a great time skiing. Enjoyed some beers, food was decent, and the lifts are quick to get in the maximum amount of runs in.
I paid over $500 for a family of 4. To arrive at 11:00 (Because they told me that was the best time to arrive for reduced rental lines). To wait at the ticketing window for 45 minutes, to go over to rentals and wait over an hour and a half. And then the resort closed at 4:00. So around 1:30 I got to the first chair lift, to wait another 30 minutes because of "The Who you can ride with." I mean, I get it... COVID-19. Im as safe and concerned as the next person. But to charge $500... to get 4 runs in, is a shame... I would give a 5 star if they would have made it "Right". But when I contacted them, I couldn't even get a person to respond... VIA email, or phone call. So in short. Im sure this resort is a 5 star, but you have messed up the COVID-19 process so bad. Oh, just for good measure... there we only 3 people working the "Boot Rental" Line.
No strangers here....just friends you haven't met yet. Always a good time here getting runs in and my drink on.
Excellent. Very good place to start sky experiences even more with family
Crazy crowded during COVID. Just as crowded prepandemic. I don t think they re really limited lift tickets online.
Only thing they did get right was limiting the indoor dining but should sell foods and drinks outdoors besides waffles like other resorts.
Great trails, multiple food choices, and always a good time with good views(even on a cloudy day) Bonus: Randy in group sales is beyond amazing!
At Hunter for the TAP NY fest. An amazing time at a great location.
Tore my meniscus while skiing and the nurse said walk on it you don t need a knee wrap ... yea OKAY. Please get qualified doctors/nurses. Thank goodness I ve had this injury before so ignored the incompetence. If I listened to her I would have damaged my knee so much worse...
Other than that the mountain is cute!
Pretty solid mountain if your tryna send it in the southern part of the North East.
This is a good place for people who like to go skiing!!!
