Nice mountain with great ski terrain. Can get crazy busy on weekends. They have the best zip line in the country. I highly recommend trying it. Definitely an adventure. I once saw 3 bears come out of hibernation in the spring right in between two ski trails!

No social distancing. Very few wearing masks and not enforced at all. 2 hours and 40 minutes to rent ski boots. Unhelpful as they just ask shoe size and give you equipment. No sizing or fitment. Very unpleasant experience. Extremely long lift lines and again, no distancing or enforcement. How is this remotely acceptable?

Going here in the Autumn and getting a chance to ride the ski lift up and down offer some of the most beautiful panoramic views of that Valley try to catch a Oktoberfest or some of the other festivities that they have up there on weekends and you won't be disappointed

After living and skiing here for over 20 years the mountain and its terrain still feels fresh. Home to knowledge, helpful and friendly staff. Weekends and especially holidays can get busy so it s always best to plan your trip in advance and arrive early.

Really packed. Ran out of skis for rent. Group lessons are huge with only one instructor. Long lines for everything. Once your on the slope though you forget about all the madness down at the bottom.

Got there 1st thing on MLK and everything, including ski school, looks very organized. By 9:30am the line was getting longer. I can't say anything about rentals or food since we brought everything with us

Out of a few places I have been to in New York, this one is the biggest but there are still not enough routes and lifts for beginners. When it's about to close at 4pm, there were still people lining to go up and one staff became rude.

Food here is a bit overpriced (as usual) but not too bad. It's a pain to walk up or down the stairs every time I wanted to go to restroom in ski boots though.

Came up for Oktoberfest this weekend and had a great time. Live music in two venues, food everywhere of all types with a general leaning toward the Germanic varieties, and beer. Beer beer everywhere! Plus some vendors, again with items from in and around Germany. Handmade beer steins, cuckoo clocks, traditional toys, and hats, as well as the same general items you find at any fair. It was fun, well worth the trip, and a beautiful day to be outside enjoying the Catskills.

It's never like windham always icy. Reminds me of Mt Creek. Also a dislike of mine. But what do you expect with wanna be snowboarders who spend 3000 bucks on equiptment they dont need. Posers!!! Enjoy your effing creek and this place. Blow some snow danmit. Windham got you beat. But what do i know im just a pool boy not a doctor danmit!!! Lmfao

Great place. Had so much fun in the snow.
It takes forever to get all the equipment, and for beginners a little hard to understand the sequence of getting the equipment. There should a lot more help signs on what to do next. Needs to get more organized from that side. Some people from the staff were really helpful, I personally didn t like our trainer. He needed to cheer us up a lot more. At some point I felt he was just in automatic giving instructions and not caring about us really learning. I saw others instructors trying to encourage the students not to gave up.

Very nice ski resort in a day-trip range from NYC. It was not too crowded and there was some good snow in the beginning of the day, getting a bit worse (scrappy) towards the end. I went on Tuesday after presidents day, so don't take my "not too crowded" into account if you plan to go on a weekend or holiday.

Good

Hunter is a great mountain for skiing and snowboarding. It has varied terrain from beginner to true-expert. It is enough for a skier to progress their ability or just have fun! Not forgetting to mention, live music, fun DJ, great bar and tubing!

Expensive and crowded. To be fair, it would be difficult to solve both problems because lowering prices would make it more crowded. Be prepared to ride or ski on ice especially in the afternoon. Good snow making facilities.

Right... Okay, it is important to note, I've skied out west, in Europe, all over the east (lived in Killington as well). This mountain is fine for a quick fix from Metro NYC. It is however, boring AF if you can really ski. The trails are okay, the terrain is okay... But, the layout of the mountain makes it repetitive... Furthermore, asked for a waitstaff sort of burger and a beer joint (on mountain), was given conflicting information and this is terrible. Guest services should know the mountain, you have one job! Lastly, Tannersville midweek equals ghost town (oh, and go midweek if you actually want to ski). I hadn't been in years.... Will probably return strictly because I live in the NYC area.... Would not go otherwise, but hey, it is what it is.....

Hunter is probably the closet "mountain" to NYC. It's small, but we'll set up. Good lodge/eats/rental set up. The snow wasn't great today, but that isn't Hunter's fault. Great mountain at which to learn or to make a few turns before you go to a real ski area.

Hunter Mountain was the 20th ski area I've skied at...and it was by far my least favorite. I've avoided coming here because I've heard the lines are horrible, but I thought with "reduced capacity" it may be alright. If 2021 is "reduced" I shudder to imagine what it was like in other years. Lines are a complete joke....how is it possible (or ethical) to jam that may people in a resort? What in the world are reservations for...it certainly doesn't appear that there are any limits. It's pretty obvious the Vail corp is pushing profits over everything, I will avoid all Vail resorts in the future. If they had any business sense they would realize that actually limiting the crowds would make a more loyal customer.

We got to the mountain around 11 and stayed until 3:30. During that time we went on THREE runs. We didn't stop for lunch, bathrooms and we had our own skis.

I will give them one star for what I felt was a decent set-up for social distancing. Lift lines are spaced so you aren't standing directly by people in an adjacent line. I did see employees ask skiers to pull masks over noses, so that was encouraging.

Definitely the best ski area in southern NY. Really good snowmaking and lots of varying terrain. Food in the cafeteria is home made style and there is a nice selection of beers in the bars.

I like it because the Mtn is using Covid prevention measures that at first are pretty annoying- reservations to the Mtn to ski/ride, reservations to eat, spaced out tables, lift chair rules, masks, etc. But the strict rules will keep it open. I've never seen it so empty. As always and not Hunter's fault, the weather is warm and it has rained. There is a top to bottom run as of early Dec 2020. It'll get there. The restaurant, the Market Place, serves even worse food than ever. Why did they revert to the 90's quality of food? I'd rate it at a 1. When we went this time, it was warm. What happens when it is bitter out and we need a warm up? Reservations to warm up? I think they need a plan to allow tailgate style set ups so we can be outside and safe. Let us bring a canopy and chairs? Propane grill area?

I've gone here with my family every winter to snow tube since I was a baby. This recent time that we went, there was a huge incident that unfortunately wasn't taken care of by the staff properly. AnnaMarie, I believe is her name, she was very kind and more helpful than the others.
