I found this cat in the street. Totally feral and scared. Gave him to the humane society because he was so little i didn't know how to take care of him. They treated him medically, got his ticks and vaccines taken care of for just 135 dollars. Most importantly I gave them a terrified feral cat, and when I adopted him a month later he is an inquisitive, loving and trusting kitten. Clearly they take care of the animals trusted to them.

This is by far my most favorite animal shelter! I've been visiting this location for many years. The staff are always very welcoming and the volunteers are very dedicated to the needs of the animals. There are tons of resources to assist those who want to adopt. The facility is always very clean and the dogs and cats are well taken cared of. Can't say enough great things here!
Love this place. I have been attending their dog training classes and low cost clinic. Staff members know what they are doing and all love the animals.
I am so thankful that this shelter does not euthanize any of its animals, but rather, provides them with food, shelter, and care until they are adopted or taken in by a rescue. I also am thankful for the many volunteers who go in week after week to walk the dogs, play with the cats and kittens, and give their hearts to animals that will become someone else's pets.
HSHV is a well-run facility. Crates and breeding are kept clean. Animals are well fed, kept clean, and dogs are able to get some exercise and bark to their heart's content thanks to a door that leads from their rooms to play and bathroom areas. Visitors can give dogs treats from supplied food that agrees with that dog's stomach. There are toys on every cat crate, for both the cat's and the visitor's amusement. This truly is a humane Humane Society.
The staff are very kind and caring and always make my pets and I feel welcome. I have adopted animals from the shelter and used their vet clinic on multiple occasions. Every experience here has been lovely and I would recommend anyone to adopt a pet here or take their pets in for veterinary treatment.
I have used a couple different humane society adoption services. Several years ago I had to surrender a cat due to living situation. He was well taken care of and eventually adopted. About a month ago I was able to get a cat in my new apartment so I went back to Huron valley humane and adopted a wonderful senior cat. They were very open about any and all potential medical problems and behavior problems. The workers were accommodating and hilarious during the adoption process. Happy to say the new addition to my home has been doing great, he has exhibited no negative behaviors and is a little bundle of love and head butts!!
I love the shelter part and have adopted 2 pets from them. I have reservations about the clinic. When your pet is sick they're not able to care for them. I have not had good feeling about the staff. Only once my dog was good with one Vet and assistant. The other times he is so afraid of them that I have to medicate him and muzzle him. I am traumatized that I have to put it on him. He so dislikes them. (Muzzle and staff). I am planning to find a different place to take him.
Very clean facility with really competent and caring staff! All animals there look well taken care of. Adopted a dog there today and will be an experience I'll remember my whole life!
This place is so great. A blessing to the town. We went there and added a new member to our family. If you are looking for a dog or cat this is your place. They also accept donations if you were in the giving mood...
Can't appreciate the volunteers enough. This place is a heaven come true for animals specially the one's lost, separated, hungry, terrified and in pain. The care provided is best for the animals. We adopted our cat from here. The staff was very supportive and encouraging, answered all our questions regarding his health and behavior. I love the place. They also support casual visits where you can spend time with dogs and cats and play with them. Absolutely love the place. They also have a vet clinic with very good doctors and all of the earnings of the clinic goes to the support of the animals here.
We use their barn cat neuter program. They were friendly, on time and great to work with.

Nice and clean facility!!! Everyone we came into contact was very nice and welcoming. There wasn't a very large selection of kittens at the time. We will check the facility on Jackson in Ann Arbor. We're told the selection is much larger there.
They took care of my friend's dogs when he had a medical emergency. When the emergency was over they allowed him to reclaim his dogs. That was so kind of them!!
God Bless the people who care and love our animals. The spay / neuter van came out to our area. Picked up over 11 cats. Vaccinations, fixed them, then let them return. Sadly, yesterday, I moved a kitten that was hit and killed in the road. You never know? Lastly, there is a component about the Cherry Hill site that has troubled me for the last 8 years: lack of DIVERSITY in staff and management! Come on, not even one token? I had to correct a young woman who was very condescending to me. I hate qualifying, but I ll also get my Doctorate and say yes, Dr. so n so, why can t we all just get along?
They saved my thor when he had parvo! Went above and beyond to make sure he made a full recovery.
I have adopted all of my pets from here. Clean and friendly they take good care of their animals and you know they are well taken care of and loved.

There's not enough wonderful things I can say about the HSHV! They're simply wonderful. I adopted my cat (Mr. Littles) from here a little over 3 years ago & found a funny, quirky & amazing companion. I will ALWAYS recommend this as the 1st place to go when seeking to adopt a new fury friend!
My daughter has adopted 2 cats from here since then, & I was recently back with a friend to help her pick a new fury friend. I can honestly say that although we'd like to think it's us who have "picked" them, it's actually the other way around.

Couldn't have had a better adoption process! Our pup is the sweetest and we cannot wait for his puppy classes to start next month. Staff is super helpful and friendly! They need a reality check! They just don't have any compassion for the mentally disabled! They don't understand and will not show any understanding or compassion for anyone that doesn't fit their cookie-cutter idea, look, and behavior for a person. They stink. No one from my household will be sending donations to them any longer because of the way they discriminate against people with disabilities working there in any capacity!

I received the news letter you show up early get a ticket and on Friday the line is so ridiculous it's possible I wish they would change the system a bit maybe break it down to 2 days or something I don't know.
We fostered a dog from here and we adopted her today. This shelter is very nice, and they have a nice gift store. When we adopted our dog we bought her a surprise from the gift shop, a squeaky toy, and gave it to her when we got home. The people here are so nice, they said they hoped we would bring her in to visit and they are working to figure out how much the grooming would cost now that they would have to charge us (it was free while we fostered). If you go here, do us a favor: tell them you have heard of Diva! (Our dog wants to be famous..) Thanks.

The Humane Society of Huron Valley is a no kill animal shelter that cares for their animals greatly. One example is dogs have a way to get in and out of their kennel, and they have to work harder to get their treats to simulate catching prey. Plus, Anyone 12+ can volunteer and anyone 5-12 years old, there is a summer camp for them.

I witnessed trio of dogs(Jack, Zach, and Russell) Get adopted by a nice couple looking for dogs that need help. This place is heartwarming.
I have a love hate thing going on here. I love the dogs and most of the staff. Some of the staff are rude and seem to judge you and defiantly your children as you walk the kennels.
We adopted our baby here 9 years ago, they gave us a hell of a time. I'm not going to elaborate, but mostly awful for our baby. She ended up with serve kennel cough as a result of them holding her for weeks, yes weeks before letting us take her home.
I have since held a food drive for them and directed many people to there kennel because its not the dogs fault. I support there program, but not there process. In a perfect world there would be no such place, but for now, less judgment from the staff would be nice.
The staff is fantastic and they take wonderful care of my dog.

I cannot describe how much I am in love with this shelter! Amazing, caring staff, devoted to getting you the perfect pet! I have actually gone a couple times just to see animals, their facility is amazing. The "cat township" has many decorated rooms, with closed out door access as well as bright cheery atmoshperes. Amazing! I am hoping to volunteer here!
Excellent help was offered when I showed up with 2 pups I wanted but on SSD I really couldn't afford but thru them they made it possible my furbabies are now fixed chipped and all shots for the next year also was accepted in Bountiful Bowl program this Momma is happy since these girls are all I have ..THANK YOU AGAIN !!!

Wonderful facility filled with excellent people (and some very sweet animals!). Adopted from them almost ten years ago and recently brought home two new kittens to our home. Always happy with their programs!

Words can not express what an amazing place this is ... We adopted the most wonderful girl here .. She was older and before we d found her there she had to have her eyes removed . I know most other places wouldn t have put the time , effort or love into saving her , they did .... Then after we d had her for some years she got very sick and they were even more incredible. They made a heart breaking decision as good as it could have been ... They went far above and beyond. I am touched and humbled by the goodness of these people. I only wish to be half as amazing one day ....For a few weeks I was feeling so sad because I hadn t asked for her paw prints. Then a wonderful card came in the mail. In my sadness what I had forgotten , they did not ! It was beyond touching and these paw prints will forever be cherished.... Thank you more then I can say to the staff at this incredible place

Best place to adopt a family friend/companion. The staff is very warm and friendly. They guide you very well, explain all the questions with complete detail. The facility itself is very clean and the animals here no doubt are pampered! We loved meeting with all the cats.
Great helpful staff, though not the most knowledgable they are volunteers doing their absolute best. More knowledgable than you'd expect from unpaid volunteers. Treated the animals well and knew all of them personally. Super clean and nice place with a good atmosphere. Though the bunny room had poop everywhere lol. Animals were all well fed too and got individual attention + walks.

We got our second dog from here on the Love Train and she's amazing! The staff was kind, patient and enthusiastic through the entire adoption process... Not to mention this place is CLEAN! Incredible organization. I have taken several animals here and I know they are in good hands. When we found a cat we were interested in adopting they provided us for so many services for free when we had him checked out. Sometimes it is difficult to get through the intake line but keep calling and someone will answer.
I highly recommend you look for your next addition to your family at HSHV! I volunteered awhile ago and have adopted a cat and dog from here and all of my experiences have been great! They truly care for the animals, give you straight up advice and policies, and are very professional. I have recommended them to many friends who have all came back with positive reviews as well. Very helpful and accommodating. Was slightly brushed off for being in my early 20s, but they have every reason to be skeptical when it comes to adoptions.

Huron Valley Humane society is an amazing place!!! They save so many dogs, cats, rabbits, and more every year. The volunteers and staff are extremely nice, and can answer questions about the animals. Over all, i think Huran Valley Humane society, is the perfect place to get a, lovable furry friend!!!!!
