Two words: TUBULAR TACO! This to me is the one place I HAVE TO visit whenever I go to Austin. The atmosphere is great, the service is fast, the food is amazingly good. It's a true Austin icon.

Love the gorgeous view of the lake and their drinks are top notch! The appetizers were delicious but my Mahi Mahi fish tacos fell flat. I definitely will return for the atmosphere and drinks.
I love this place, the only thing is it was so busy last Mother's day we spent like two hours waiting to be called..
Beautiful location, delicious eats, and superior service. Always a favorite.
Beautiful place to chill. Good choice of food and drinks.
The best place in Austin. You have to know it. Love it.
horrible service every time, but fajita nachos are good for the price!
NIce atmosphere...Great patio during summer!
Comfort Food restaurant. The food is nothing out of this world, but what you really pay for (which isn t much) is the view. It s right on the lake. You can eat outside and have some drinks while you hang out right by the lake. It is really nice to be able to have a relaxing tropical get away and still be in Austin. They have pretty good tacos that are HUGE! And of course, delicious pina coladas and margaritas!
eh, it's there, and it works for what it is. Just don't expect much from them, but do expect a rather douchey crowd.
Unbelievably disappointing!! The place was filthy. The smell of mildew was unavoidable on the patio deck where we were originally seated near the back by the kitchen. How in the world can you even suggest your guests to be seated with a full view of your filthy kitchen with a dirty floor, wet rugs, wet rags, food on the floor, trash overflowing simply disgusting. I immediately asked we be moved to another table because I didn t want to spoil the evening as it was a celebratory night for us. Hoping the worst was behind us, we were moved to another table that was more towards the front and the smell of mildew wasn t permeating the air as much I was wrong. We were seated and handed menus that were dirty with food still stuck on them. When I opened up my menu, there was someone s queso smeared on the first page. We were given water that had obviously been sitting because the ice was melted and the water was lukewarm and smelled funny. The 2 stars were for the staff that was helpful and pleasant and the lake view was nice. Now one could argue that the restaurant was like this because it was a busy night , however my response would be that you don t open a restaurant hoping it will never be busy! Train your staff, inspect what you expect and quit resting on your laurels. Management should be absolutely ashamed and hope the Health Department doesn t stop by any time soon.
I pretty much love everything about this place. Good food, good atmosphere, good drinks, and a friendly staff. The self serve salsa makes gorging myself on tortilla chips easier than ever - and it's even got quite the kick. I've tried a few things here now and have not been disappointed. My only complaint is the drink prices are outrageous. Last time my sweets and I went over half our bill was spent on 4 drinks. . Guess we'll have to pregame a little next time.
Delicious enchiladas and great atmosphere. Amazing customer service as well. Love this place!
This was my second time there and I feel the same way about the food there like I do about The Oasis. Overpriced for what you get. You are just paying for the view! Go for drinks and chips and salsa! Skip the food!
We have eat here several times and it seems the food is not like was in the past. Won't be going back !
My boyfriend took me here for my birthday and it was wonderful! We came when the sun was setting and I was in love. The food was fun and the waiter was super helpful! Great cocktails. The outside is strung with light and great photo opportunity for people who are into that.
Slow service. They try to nickel and dime you for everything. A brussel sprout size scoop of sour cream and guac for $3 and it wasnt even fresh. Then they told me it was extra $ for hot sauce. Would not return.
Great place to eat at off peak hous. Good customer service. Delicious.
Great atmosphere, select from full service inside the bar, to sunny interior dining, to patio views on the lake. Super happy hour specials, refreshing fun drinks, huge food portions. Service was excellent. Superb valet parking when the closest lot is full.
An iconic Austin staple. Great location. Drinks are great. Food is TexMex so don't set your expectations too high for haute cuisine...
Food was delicious, fun atmosphere. Our server in the bar area, Emily D, was fantastic, sweet and attentive. One of the better servers we have had in a while! Would highly recommend.
Great place to have lunch or dinner, always has waiting time but it worth it.
Great vibe on the waterfront. Food is actually good too! Expect a very long wait despite the place being very big. The only thing I'd say is service was pretty bad but it bothered me less given we were out with friends and weren't in a huge rush.
Delicious shredded chicken in anything. The stuffed avocado was especially delicious.
Terrible service, had to ask for utensils twice after food arrived, management was indifferent, hostesses didn't want to be there
I used to really like this place but after our recent visit, not sure if I'll return. Too loud and crowded for my taste and no clue why they didn't have the outdoor area open on a beautiful Friday night.
Our waiter was awful. I asked for a margarita, not the shaker, and he brought me the shaker. When I told him his mistake, instead of saying, oh sorry you can keep it, he took it and had another drink made. Then when we wanted to leave we asked for a to go box and he forgot that.
Nothing Earth shattering and no desire to return.
Absolutely loved this on the water restaurant. The food was incredible, the live music was great. The atmosphere was fantastic. The service was impeccable. Going to the Hula Hut is an absolute must if you are visiting from out of town and a go to for locals.
Almost forgot to write a review for my host Vy when i went in a little time ago! There was a problem with the wait time and getting seated but she handled it very well and with professionalism! She was very nice!
Very good lake view. Mexican food with a Hawaiia n touch
The Hula hut has great food and drinks. The view is Awesome and the atmosphere is wonderful!
Staff was friendly and service was prompt. Great vibes, awesome place to chill out for drinks and a quick bite.
I was waiting for 45 minutes on the waiting list. I did not expect to get cold salmon. The taste was very bad and the salad was spoiled.
Great food, service and ambiance in my hometown of Austin, TX.
It was my first time there, food was delicious and the service was good. I forgot my plates name I believe it was Hawaii grill and it was so good. I just wish this restaurant was closer to my hometown. Whenever I am in Austin again I will go again.
Great place but it's always packed. Expect to wait a while on drinks, food, etc.
More of a tropical style. Nothing hot. Wouldn't consider texmex or authentic. Taste ok.
Great location, great staff, alright food, not much of Hawaiian twist.
So yummy! Loved the tortillas and everyone was happy with their food - burgers or the Tex Mex. Worth the drive; Enjoy!
Great food & nice staff. Good place to go celebrate a birthday!
Great drinks and ambience!! Expect seafood and it may be hit it or miss.
If your comfortable with no social distancing this is the place for you. No respect or enforcement to keep everyone safe during these troubling times. I understand that everyone needs to make a living, but when you are not following guidelines set by government officials. It is hard for me to comfortable in your establishment.
Bland food, dirty all around, not just the restaurant but the silverware and dishes (the texatini shaker had food stuck in the strainer). The view, staff and the fact my daughter had fun watcjing the turtles while she at earn this place a second star.
Even though there was an hour wait they sat us faster outside which was nice. However the food took over an hour to get to us, the waiter took 20 minutes to bring us silverware after we had our food so we went and got it ourselves but waited 20 minutes for the dressing for the salad we already had. Food was good but not worth the wait.
Average to decent food. Cool atmosphere and views. Good place to take out of town visitors but not really a place true locals frequent.
Lady at front desk was helpful, immediately took are name down and told me it would be a 45 min wait, great no problem. She suggested for us to have a drink at their outside bar and if we found a table outside we had the option to dine outside, if so, we just needed to reply to the incoming text and cancel the table for inside; great.
Well, we found a table outside at the bar, it was well shaded, by the water and fans were blowing, just perfect. We decided to dine at at that table.
One of the waitresses came by and told us that was fine for us to dine at that table and that another waitress would be bringing our menus.
Another waitress came and immediately asked us if we were expecting more guest since we were seating at a table for six people. We told her no, it was for only two and there are no other tables available.
She suggested for us to go to the other bar to look for a table for two since they like to keep the table for six for a larger party.
I told her we were told we could select any table from the bar and the inside table we originally reserved was cancelled since we had already selected the table at the bar.
She asked for my name and went to the outside host to find us another table. Immediately came back to us and said she had a table for us.
We got up and immediately were seated to a table of SIX, go figure!
My husband and I laughed and couldn t understand why the waitress would inconvenience us to move us to the same size of table. We didn t know if the waitress made this decision due to her own interest based on the total bill and tips she would earn from a larger party.
Other than that, we had amazing service with our new waiter and amazing food!
The name of the waitress at the outside bar was unknown but was Caucasian female with red hair during lunch time on Sunday June 2nd.
We like to suggest to management, add a sign to the larger tables for customers that reads table for only large parties.
If Management doesn t care about how many guest seat at the larger table, then we suggest the bar waitress get a 101 etiquette training!
Hands down my favorite restaurant in Austin! It's nice to sit out on the deck over the lake. Great frozen margaritas and best queso and chips ever. Recommend the BBQ chicken tacos!
If you haven't eaten a tubular taco, you haven't lived !
I wanted to like this place but the food just wasn't good. It's right on the water and the happy hour drinks were cheap but that's the only thing it has going for it.
The jumbo tacos they have here are to die for I absolutely love this place. Great for kids too!
Not a good experience. We were 3 guys and were told to wait 25-30 minutes even when so much seating was available. The food - not that great! The service - not that great. Had to ask for everything from silverware to straws. The server wanted us to pay even when she could see we were still having our food. Too bad! :(
Ah, a great place for breakfast, lunch or dinner. I'm happy it's close to home.
Hostess was nice, we got seated faster than what was originally stated which was good. Once seated it took 20 minutes to get greeted by our waiter to get drinks. Like most of the time we go there, the service is terrible but the food is great.
We did about 30 minutes to be seated. They utilize an app created for keeping track of how many people are in front of you. We sat out on the patio enjoying the sunset which was beautiful. Food is really good and The service was excellent.
We take all of our out of town guests here. This place is amazing. The Thai BBQ fajitas are my go to.
Had one of the worst experiences at one of my favorite restaurants. It really doesn't appear any covid measures are in place other than slow service. Bartenders and staff without masks, no signs of gloves, waiters seeing credit cards going straight from table to table, crowded tables with chairs pushed up against each other, and a crowd that seems to feel invulnerable. Until this pandemic mess is over I'll pass. I wouldn't even really trust take out right now.
The ONLY spot on Lake Austin worth grabbing a drink and some eats at. Do yourself a solid and grab the treehugger nachos and a cocktail and you ll impress your date and your taste buds.
I liked their tubular tacos (aka a burrito). The view of the lake is nice as well
It was packed due to the nextdoor Mozart's holiday light show. Had to wait almost an hour and a half to get seated.
Love the original look and great food and big portions
