I liked the food..It was delicious and even we ordered half the meals..the amount of the food was a lot..the things I did not like the service..Most of the waitress /servers looked like annoyed from the busy night and customers and they were showing it with their attitudes, no smiling, asking you question while your are eating ( it is realy rude!..and they must think they are smart because you can not talk back and ask what you need ).They need more busboys for the busy times..The floor was always nasty..some servers or hostesses were letting the people sit before busboys finish cleaning, which it happened to us too..nasty,oily menus, tables, greasy floors full with food or utensils..if you do not want to deal with the inside traffic and dirt sit outside..

Great views. The chips and salsa are good. The drinks are meh, but the view is worth it.

Service was iffy at best but the food was great. They made one drink wrong, fixed it and then reserved the drink (that was tried "mouth on straw") to another guest 5-10 minutes later. That is worrisome, not proper food safety procedures. I would be pissed if I got the herps or something due to a mistake like that.

Terrible expierence. Took over an hour to get a drink. That ended up mostly being water. Then another 20 minutes of waiting to be greeted. If you want anything near decent service do not come here. No one even apologized for the horrible service. Will never be back.

We decided to check out Hula Hut with my husband and sister whom was visiting from California. I had told her about Towne Lake and all that Austin has to offer, especially the great food. When we arrived, the host stand was packed with bored, confused teenagers trying to figure out where to seat a 3 top. Upon looking in the main dining, we saw at least 10 open tables. We signed up for a 10 minute wait, along with the other line of couples, and 25 minutes later got the okay to follow our hostess to our table. She apathetically brought us to an exterior door and told us to go to the host stand in the next building. So we went in, waited 5 minutes, and checked in yet again to be seated. This room was awesome and had a ton of open tables. We were asked if we wanted to sit by the water(yes of course) and then led to a 4 top booth practically in the kitchen next to the ice machine. The view was of the water, back side of restaurant with trash everywhere. Ok, whatever, we thought.. bring on the food. It took 15 minutes to be apologetically greeted, after I got up and asked the hostess to get us our waiter. By this time my toddler was already over it. The whole time we were being passed by waitstaff after waitstaff whom were too busy talking loudly and flirting with each other, no eye-contact, no drinks, no menus, including our future server of which was towel snapping the butts of other servers within view. We smelled trash, were seated in view of trash, and service was trash. I did however enjoy my stuffed avocado after asking for cutlery and a refill for my husbands coke. We would ve loved to drop a few hundred here on drinks, apps, and food if we were given the chance. Thanks for ruining my sisters experience, and embarrassing the Austin food culture scene. Quit hiring children.

Good views and drinks. They took forever to clear our table and clean not to mention we kept having to go to the bar for more drinks. Getting a table was pointless. To be honest the caucasian people were getting better service around our tables. Smh.

Best spot on the lake! Fantastic and flavorful food. My bartender, Erin, was so friendly and fast! Got the stuffed avocado with jalapeno ranch and i ate the whole thing in like 10mins. Paired it with a mojito... So good! The fajitas are amazing too, seasoned very well. Great atmosphere and friendly staff, seems like they never miss a step on busy nights!

This used to be my favorite restaurant in Austin. Great atmosphere. Too bad the management/kitchen staff have allowed the quality of the food to plunge off a cliff. The service has gotten worse every time we've gone for the last 4 years. One of the last times we went, the server asked us to help her carry hot plates to a different table because they were short-staffed and the table we were at was very wobbly. They didn't give us oven mits and expected patrons to move hot plates... This last time we were there, 8/4/18, the server didnt bring settings until after our dinner was served, did not bring extra salsa, and took forever and a day to close the check - at 4pm, not even their busiest part of the day. Extremely disappointed.

At The end of the day, the waiter is the face of the company. The staff here... Lazy, sloppy, dirty, bad day, (one girl did offer me a bad ass margarita!) But the waiter I got... Idk if it was a racism, or what... Nothing good here but the food. . Next time I'll just do "to go" 3:20 PM 14-abr-18 ; sitting at the far right bar W the big silver fan... The waiter I had... Purple sweater. . Quote of the day "keep your silverwear, currently out" But the table behind me.. smiles for days. Also, wear long sleeves... Sticky tables.

We were really excited to eat here after boating because it s right on the water and it looked cute. There was a 20 to 40 minute wait for a table and were told we could grab an open table out on the patio. There were no open tables and there were other groups right after us that were also waiting for a table. So when a couple left, we sat down prior to it being cleared. We had to call someone over to bus the table after waiting quite some time. We helped stack the plates and cups for the waitress (Natasha S.), but she was rude right from the start. She neglected us and we had to ask a second time for the chips and salsa because she forgot. I was only drinking water and she never bothered to come back and check on us. When I asked for a refill of my water her response was you can fill it up over there and pointed to a water cooler. However two seconds later brought a water pitcher around to fill up the table right next to us. She was just overall rude and despite this we still tipped 15% (even though she in no way deserved a tip). The food was good and being on the water was nice, but with servers like that it s absolutely not worth it.

Delicious food and LARGE portions, the outside deck was a great place to enjoy a pleasant January afternoon in Austin. Gluten free choices were slim because the same oil is used for their corn tortillas/chips and wheat flour tortillas, that was the only drawback. Our waitress, Holly, was very knowledgeable and friendly. Service was great.

Hello, i can with good intentions celebrating my dear husbands birthday but had a terrible time. First when we walked in they greeted me and i just felt a bad vibe. they were not quick to greed me and take up to a table. Then after waiting for a loud 1hr to get our food my burger was BURNT! They brought a new one out and it was still burnt AF.

We got a table and had to fight for anything else. After sitting for a good 10 minutes we had a basket of chips tossed on our table...and then another 5-10 to get drinks even ordered. They get 2 stars because the food was good and ordered correctly. After our meal I let the manager know they either needed to help them or talk to them and he just brushed me off. This was my first time there and will definetly be my last.

Came to town for a convention. This was a second visit for us . We loved it the first time and that s why we went back. The service was very bad and food was not that great either. . Another customer complained to the manager. She proceeded to ripped the employees a$$es in front of everyone. I was shocked. So so disappointed in how that was handled and the way they let some servers dress when they are waiting on the public. They Looked like they needed to be in a strip club. The second star is only for the cold beer. So disappointing. I wonder if it s different owners sense last summer????

Horrible service! The waiter we had was sitting at the table next to us for a while and then finally came over to take our order. Such a disappointment! The food was okay, but for the price no. The mixed drinks tasted like they had a powder drink mix. They did try to fix it and even offered me another type of drink, which was above and beyond, but didn't want to do that. The outdoor seating seems to get better service than inside.

This was a wonderful place to visit. Our waiter was very efficient and polite. I had the chicken guacamole tubular. Very delicious. I was most impressed with the salsa served with the chips. Too bad I don t have a recipe for the salsa. This has to be my all time favorite salsa and I have had plenty of salsas. Thanks for a super meal

Great place. The food is pretty good, especially if you like queso. The drinks are tasty, I love the Hulala. And the view can't be beat. Is it the best TexMex I've ever had? No. But overall, it's a really cool spot, especially in good weather.

You come here for two things: the drinks and the view. The food? Not so good. It's average at best, nothing to brag about. Back to what's good - being able to sit out on the deck and over look the lake with a margarita is everything. Our waitress was fantastic, she had a lot of tables but she made it a point to constantly check in. I will definitely come back here for the experience and chips and salsa. The staff here is friendly and the bartenders know how to make good drinks.
