House of Blues Myrtle Beach, SC Reviews

On a weekend in December, we did the Gospel Brunch and the next day did the Murder Mystery dinner. The gospel brunch was absolutely great service and vibe, and the food was plentiful and delicious. The gospel group sounded great, but played the same things over and over which was VERY ODD. We were there for an hour and a half and heard the birthday song and staple gospel song that they had everyone sing a total of 3 times EACH. It was pretty ridiculous.
But again, the brunch is highly recommended and was worth the money.
The Murder Mystery left a little to be desired, but it was nice to do something different....silly premise, not so great food and service lacked a lot ( dying to get a refill of sweet tea on multiple occassions, but no one would come over).
All in all, a good little House of Blues weekend while at our beach house. I will try it again next time my parents or friends are there and hope for a better gospel group.

The food tasted good but it was so oily my daughters stomach is killing her and I m on the bowl. Small portions , no bread, my youngest had chicken tenders and she would it then. The people there were very nice..

We went to the Murder Mystery Dinner and it was fun! However, the seating and lack of air conditioning made it uncomfortable.

If you see a show, spend the extra buck for a seat. At the end of the show they close it fast like a fire drill.We had dinner reservation, food was good (pricey)drinks were weak waitress said new bartender. We sent them back. Overall I would go back, not my top spot.

We had a wonderful experience, the food was so good, the beer was cold and our server Joni was wonderful. She was so fun and friendly with the little ones we had with us, and so knowledgeable about the place! We learned so much about House of Blues. What a great spot!

We enjoyed the show, but they were not prepared to control the crowd when people decided to mosh during the last song (moshing was "not allowed")

We went for the Murder Mystery dinner. Overall it was GOOD.... The food was okay, chicken is always safe however the rice and veggies were BLAND..... I think there should be one other option on the menu better yet, unlimited bread would be GREAT!!!! The acting was okay. I had one of the killers at my table and I KNEW IT! I had another person who was at my table who I SWORE was a part of the show.... however she was auditioning.... GIVE PAIGE THE JOB!!!!!! My ONLY two complaints, the place smells OLD..... REAL OLD.... YUCK..... and the folded wooden chairs were NO WHERE NEAR COMFORTABLE. For the amount, you could invest in comfortable seating and air freshener. Better yet, pull up the flooring and get better chairs. Despite those two issues, I will be back!!!!

Kace was unnecessarily belligerent. Ruined the evening

The Billy Joel tribute was not up to snuff. Bass too loud drums over amped. Prevented hearing the piano and singer. Left early.

The absolute worst venue I've ever been to. Wasn't even allowed to leave and re-enter the concert and had to stand outside in a cloud of smoke just to get some "fresh air". Workers were careless and rude. Definitely will not return for any future concert.

My favorite stop anytime i m in Myrtle Beach I ve been coming here for 15+ years. Absolute must visit

The atmosphere here is very inviting and energetic. The food was delicious. I suggest the Foothills Flatbread. It's the perfect starter and is the same price as the actual appetizers.

There's free live music and a cornhole board. We were leaving right as the band was getting into a set and they sounded really good.

Be warned that a lady comes around offering to take a photo for a complementary postcard. When she returns to give you the postcard, she'll try to sell you other photos. We knew she was going to do that ahead of time because she was taking too many extra photos for just a postcard. Take the first one for the postcard however you want it to appear on the card and tell her you don't want to take anymore so that you can avoid the unnecessary haggling she tries to put you through. We were there to enjoy a meal and not get dickered.

Otherwise, I recommend trying the HOB. Prices are a bit steep, but they are worth it.

I thought the band playing that day was great! The staff was extremely friendly and accommodating! Lots of variety on the buffet.

The staff was super friendly. Jess, our waitress was sweet. Great experience for breakfast buffet with the fam!

Great venue! Very Pricey the waitress was exceptional, can't say enough about how hard she worked, took very good care of us to ensure we didn't miss the concert. Loved Loved the mostly Crue band They rocked it out!!! Come to Roanoke you guys are awesome!

Excellent Sunday buffet. The food was wonderful. The music was was lacking. I was expecting more old gospel tunes that very one knows. Would have enjoyed music more if it was old gospel. The food was best meal on vacation.

It was amazing bartender made sure everytime I came to the bar that I didn't have to wait as soon as she seen me in the crowd she started my drinks I ordered a captain and Pepsi double and a shot of patron silver straight up

We came here on a Saturday night for a bachelorette party dinner with 14 people. They sat us at 2 tables side by side with a reservation. We had great service, the food was fantastic, and the back porch venue had adequate seating. It was chill vibe and the band was top notch. Very pleased!

Great food and the in-restaurant entertainment was perfect for dinner... Good to listen to, and still able to talk in the room.

I m here constantly because they bring in decent acts. Mid size venue that suits most of the performers. Back deck in the summer is very casual as well.

Foid and service always great. A must do stop every time we visit MB. The Gospel Brunch on Sunday is awesome.

I would give them a zero, but I wouldn't let me. We just left there. Never saw a server, except at the bar texting on her phone. Tables that set down after us got service, but not us. Left without getting service (waited 20 minutes) and I am really disappointed.

Favorite small venue! Just wish they brought in more indie rock and punk bands.

You have to arrive to the show early or else stand in a place you probably won't get to actually see the performance. It is a great venue for concerts and having a good time. Wear comfortable shoes if you have to stand. If you are lucky and early enough to get a seat, please do to increase your enjoyment.

I really like this venue, but more seating would've been nice.

Its okay here, sometimes i feel like they over sell and the place is so packed you cant move.

Legendary establishment, nice place to catch a great show

Our server nick b was the friendliest server we ever. The Hollywood pictures photographer valerie was very fun and sweet and enthusiastic when she came by to take our picture. Overall, a nice time!!

We have visited this location many times over the years and it does not disappoint.

Last time we came here was for the Gospel Brunch. Whilst not the same scale as the Florida location, the food was delicious and plentiful!

They experimented with a 'Celebrity Chef' menu a few years back, but it seems they are back to the delicious classics.

Great theming inside and out and plentiful parking on site.

Not impressed with this place
We didnt eat a meal so can't speak to the food. Loved the music we heard (and only reason for 2 stars) but the wait staff seemed a bit challenged. Then there is the bartender who makes a strawberry lemonade drink with what was almost certainly straight strawberry puree. It was thick, unbearably sweet and just not good. The second wait person was very sweet and did her best but I think she was a bit new to her job. I sent the drink back to the bar and it returned in the exact same awfulness. If it wasn't the worst drink I've ever had, then it's only because I blocked out the tragedy.

Cool venue, good bands. They also do a Murder Mystery Dinner here which is a lot of fun too!

Always a great place to be even though there was a mishap in the kitchen the manager Chris was more than apologetic and worked hard on leaving us with a great impression. Our waitress was wonderful too!! We will definitely be back whenever we are in the area.

We attended the Purple Madness concert tonight! The concert, venue, attendants, and security were top notch. This was our first time visiting this venue, and we will definitely be going back!

I dont need to go through three seperate automated systems and "menus" to get to finally hear you dont have tickets available for a show or your not open. do you think the buying public, the ones who shell out these high prices want that? ever go through your own phone jungle? probably not. fail.

Nice atmosphere and unique bar. Serves breakfast buffet, lunch deals, and dinner. Also has live concerts.

Murder mystery show is what we saw. It was ok. The bartender knew how to make them.

I was totally disappointed in the gospel brunch...not the performers because they were good...I am speaking soley about the food. Unfortunately, they kept running out of food so we had to wait for them to bring more out and by the time they did add more foods the food on our plates were cold. The omelet was decent. The salad was by far the best they offered. I was offended for having to pay $50 for a salad, though.

Loved the security staff. That pat down before the Steel Panther show was the most action I've had in months! Seriously, with all the concert shootings going on, I felt safe at HOB.

Love love love the HOB in MB... great concert space....food is great and the outside bar space is a great environment to hang out with friends and listen to live music as well..
