I expected more from the hotel, they put us in a small room and it had a motor noise when it gives a start that spreads from time to time for all the 24 hours of the day. I noticed that the hotel is clean, the breakfast is ordinary, nothing special. There is a manager who does not remember the name, who is an excellent professional and the other girls are not very nice at all. It is in an excellent point of the city which I consider a positive point. I think the worst thing is that the employees are not so receptive and forget that the job is due to the tourists. I think if they're smart they can get better.

The hotel was excellent. The rooms were very nicely decorated and the bed was comfortable. The shower and bathroom worked fine and without problems. The level of cleaning was also very good everyday.

All the staff were very friendly and welcoming. The breakfast was also excellent, plenty of choice and very tasty.

The hotel is also has a great location and is easy to reach all of Venice's main sights on foot from here.

All in all I was very pleased to stay at Hotel Violina D'oro and wouldn't hesitate to stay here again or recommend it to others.

Room was good sized and clean, simple decor, but adequate.
Breakfast choice was good and staff ensured that everything was replenished as needed.
Ideal location if wanting to stay near Piazza San Marco.
Overall good value for money

Nice establishment
Excellent quiet location and close to everything
Friendly but limited service. ... only breakfast (tiny tables and average food: bread and overcooked pastries for example). No restaurant or bar.

Full breakfasts, varied and very good.
Affordable, friendly and very professional staff.
Situation of the hotel insurmountable, very close to the center of the tourist-festive activity of the Carnival.
Lovely rooms and well equipped.

We had a small room, but that was expected in Venice. The location of this hotel was fabulous. Breakfast was included and was sufficient for our needs - however the coffee machine was a highlight.
Would recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to be close to St Marks Square.

If you're looking for an elegant boutique hotel with charm, look no further than Hotel Violino D'Oro. From the moment we arrived to find complimentary chilled prosecco in the room, until the day we left and they were happy to store our luggage for a few hours until we left for the train, the experience was terrific. The rooms and beds are quite comfortable with high ceilings, vintage furniture, and Murano glass light fixtures. The bathrooms are small and contemporary with excellent showers. The breakfast (included) has many hot and cold offerings, fresh fruits, juices, pastries, and best of all, a cappuccino/espresso/latte/macchiato machine that makes excellent coffees. You could easily skip lunch after enjoying this breakfast. Beyond the amenities, the best thing about Violino is the staff. They are lovely, personable, authentic, and incredibly helpful. The hotel is small, so the staff remembers each guest. I'll be coming back! Thank you for a lovely stay!

It was the fifth time in Violino d'oro and it was perfect again. A nice clean room, very nice staff and a good breakfast. And all in a perfect location on a small square near San Marco just 2 minutes from the vaporetto station. We'll be back for sure.

Everything was great except for the shower water temperature would change from freezing cold to scalding hot without warning and very quickly. My partner and I were nearly burnt a few times. It isn't that it runs out of hot water, the temperature just fluctuates for no reason. Room 108 in case this is something out of the ordinary.

Wonderful Hotel, Great Location, lovely helpful staff and amazing breakfast. Room good, a little small but that is what I paid for. Would recommend to anyone to book your stay in Venice at this hotel.

Perhaps the only criticism is the size of the room (306): Very small and without wardrobe. For the rest, everything seemed fine: The ideal location, the great cleanliness, the friendliness of the staff, in general good, the breakfast very well served and very complete. Everything almost perfect.

Although the room was pricey, the hotel is located in the tony and very popular San Marco area, which would explain the cost. In addition, it was a very short distance from the nearest Vaporetto (water bus). The buffet breakfast was plentiful. We especially enjoyed the quiche provided the first morning. Service was exceptional and the staff were extremely helpful.

During our Honeymoon, my wife and I stayed at this hotel. The staff was very helpful, and assisted us in making dinner reservations, and when they discovered it was our honeymoon, left us a bottle of Prosecco on a lovely tray with an assortment of cookies in our room. The room we stayed in was comfortable and nice. The buffet breakfast had an impressive selection.

Right next to the main square but far enough from the traffic. The gondola can get big lines in front but nice to see. Take line 1 if taking ferries, just FYI. Breakfast was ok compared to other places but staff and rooms made up for it. Would stay again.

Great hotel in Venice, Incredibly close to all main attractions, especially the gondola ride right outside the hotel. Great breakfast, no real negatives. A great place to stay and incredibly close to all restaurants and things to do in Venice

The location of this hotel is SUPERB! Minutes away from the main square and there are gondola services all around the hotel. Also, high end stores and souvenir stores are in very close proximity. The hotel staff was very helpful and polite. The breakfast buffet, though only having a small variety of food, was quite nice and fulfilling. You can even see gondolas passing by while eating breakfast. The cafe machine makes amazing drinks. We will definitely be staying here again.

Stayed 3 nights at this gorgeous hotel located right beside the canal. Very easy to find from San Marco water taxi stop from the airport (literally a 5 minute walk), and only 5 minute walk to San Marco square and all main attractions. Check in very smooth and informative. Our room was on 3rd floor (small lift available). Room was VERY small and basic but had everything needed for a comfortable stay. Nice gesture from hotel to leave a bottle of chilled prosecco in our room on arrival as we were celebrating my wife s 40th birthday. Complimentary bottles of water and soft drinks in mini bar gratefully received too. Lovely buffet breakfast each morning. Much better than expected and the breakfast room had large windows overlooking the canal so you can breakfast whilst watching the gondolas go by. Staff all very friendly and helpful. This hotel far surpassed my expectations. We got an excellent room rate and for its excellent location, cleanliness and facilities, I give it a 5 star review. Please do not hesitate to book staying here. You will not be disappointed and I will be recommending this hotel to family and friends if they are ever lucky enough to be travelling to this beautiful city of Venice

Three-star hotel with a perfect location. Service with dedication and kindness. Very good breakfast
If I return to Venice this will be my hotel, without a doubt.

Hotel perfectly located, two minutes from the Plaza de San Marcos, quiet and very quiet, correct cleaning and breakfast with a lot of variety, very complete.
The large and cozy room.
The lovely staff, we had the entrance at 2pm and when we arrived to leave the suitcases, at 10.30, we were told that the room was already available and that we could already use it. They advised us very wisely where to go to lunch or dinner.
The stay has been completely satisfactory.

Hotel very well located close to Saint Mark's Square.
The rooms are well equipped, the staff very pleasant.
We had booked a room on the canal for two nights. We were warned before our arrival that we could not have this type of room the first night. The hotel has given us several little attentions to apologize. The reception speaks French. Finally the breakfasts are very good. Really a good address

Convenient location (a few steps behind Piazza San Marco). high quality breakfast with hot items and increasingly high profile appliances. collected rooms, clean. Unique indeed not optimal management of heating (too hot for which necessitated the opening of windows).

Location, location, location! We stayed at Hotel ...

Location, location, location! We stayed at Hotel Violino D'oro 5 yrs ago and returned this May but unsure if we would stay again. Yes, the location is superb- just a short walk from St Mark's Square. Our room, a classic double was small but serviceable and clean, though decor was lacking. Breakfast was included and was varied and plentiful. Our biggest concern was security- having an actual room key w a large fob displaying the room #. Policy is that you leave the key at the desk when leaving the hotel and collect it when returning. As you approach the desk, one can see all the room keys with visible numbers. With different personnel rotating at the desk, I could have asked for any guest key- no ID required. A huge security red flag. Secondly, there was no in room safe. There are small safes available for use that are similar to small bank deposit boxes in a room off the lobby with stored luggage. They can hold passports or cash but were not large enough for my iPad. In this day and age- leaving an unsecured iPad in a hotel room is rife with risks. Luggage can be stored but is placed in the unlocked room by guests and you retrieve your luggage yourself when needed. Again- a unadvisable security risk. Though we loved the location, the multiple security flaws outweigh the location.

We stayed 3 nights here. In fact, I m writing the review from room 203 overlooking the gondola hut with someone playing some lovely Italian music gently outside our window on the small square.

Location: spot on. 1.5 minute walk to st Mark s square. Next to small waterway and gondola station in a lovely little (relatively quiet) square.

Hotel: service was fantastic. Breakfast was surprisingly good. I say this as Venice is known for basic breakfasts. Coffee and teas, pastries, pancakes, fruit, yoghurt, cold meats and fresh bread rolls among other things. Really nice. As I have said the service was fantastic. Luca at the desk was great as were all the others. It s 3 star but having stayed all over Europe in hotels I would five it 4. It s really very nice. It doesn t have a bar lounge area at night which is probably why it loses a star rating but you don t need it in Venice! Lovely big comfy beds and decent bathrooms.

BOOK DIRECT AND YOI GET A FULL MINI BAR FULL OF SOFT DRINKS AND PROSECO FREE! Only found this out tonight and write this review with a glass of it in hand. As luck would have it we booked direct!

Anyway, my wife and I love this place and would happily stay here again. A great location, great hotel and great staff at a surprisingly good price for the area. Enjoy!

As usual, five stars are for places exceeding expectations. This hotel is really close to Piazza San Marco, but it is well isolated from the noise of the square. I booked a regular room for a rather fairly price considering the location and the period. I got an upgrade and a well appreciated gift in the room. Beds are very comfortable and rooms are rather quiet. Breakfast is above expectations too, both continental and hot breakfast are available. A good start for a day in Venice. Desk personnel is very professional and eager to help. If they keep this high level of service I will surely stay again in this hotel.

Every time I come to Venice I go down to this hotel, which is welcoming and central. The packages I find on their site are really tempting. Everything that Venice promises, being in this excellent location, becomes usable reality.

We have been 3 nights at the hotel and the truth is that everything was great. The situation of the unbeatable hotel, 2 minutes from San Marcos and 1 minute from the Vaporetto. The bed is comfortable, the room small but sufficient. Breakfast very varied and of quite quality. In reception they helped us at all times even booking a show for one of the nights.
To put a snag, could consider doing a maintenance on some switches that are loose.

The hotel is well located, very close to the Piazza San Marco. In the room in which I spent 3 days a cozy atmosphere, room 301 is quite spacious and has a large terrace. View from the terrace to the gondola. The hotel is very quiet, nothing interfered with enjoy your holiday. Breakfast in the hotel restaurant is very rich and varied.

Very pleasant stay with a quality staff.
Clean room, varied breakfasts and good.
A glass factory visit to Murano in the carpe diem package that is worth it. Too bad to have forgotten twice the gift of the package.
Address to remember for its quality and location.
See you soon.

This 3 star Hotel is very close to the San Marco plain and very easy to find from the San Marco water-stop . The most beautiful area of Venice . Breathtaking evening atmosphere and lots of places to eat at reasonable prices . The Hotel staff are brilliant and the breakfast is first class with very good coffee indeed. Rooms are warm and comfortable . Well worth the stay and very highly recommended. Perfecto !

The breakfast was fantastic, the beds were a bit uncomfortable, the thermostat/heating/cooling system made the room feel really muggy and made the air kind of gross. Location was great, and service was great.

We truly enjoyed our stay at Violino d'Oro. The room was cosy and very comfortable and the added amenities (bathrobe & slippers, Prosecco & biscuits on arrival and the minibar which was replenished daily) made it very special. The staff was welcoming and helpful, the breakfast was varied and outstanding. The bed was a bit on the hard side but that is a matter of personal preference and we got quickly used to it after the first night. Although the room faced the main square it had good sound insulation and for the most part we were not disturbed by any outside noise.
The location of the hotel was also pretty great, allowing us to visit all of Venice in a few days and conveniently located to discover different neighbourhoods by stepping in different directions from the hotel. We also benefited from a visit to a glass factory on Murano Island which was quite interesting and we really enjoyed the experience.
I can safely say that it was great value for money and if we are ever in Venice again, we would definitely choose Violino D'Oro again. Working in hospitality myself I am in a difficult position when staying in hotels, as I tend to observe and evaluate not as a tourist but as a hotel manager. I cannot point a finger at anything that was poor or lacking in the service and facilities provided and by any standards this hotel is much better than its official 3 stars and it definitely deserved an additional star on its facade.

I found the hotel and the staff very pleasant, attentive to the smallest requests, a sublime and refined setting, a warm welcome.
I will recommend your hotel as often as possible.
thank you again for this wonderful weekend.

Hi. The hotel's location was perfect, located close to a private gondola station. Although historic, the hotel was not updated with modern furnishings. Our room in particular was very small and did not overlook the canal as expected. Make sure to confirm the room's location before booking.

We love Venice and the Violino d' Oro is positioned very strategically - central to almost all points of interest. The front desk staff are very friendly & helpful, the bed was much more comfortable than others we've stayed at, the hot breakfast was really good, and it was easy to walk to every place we wanted to go. We loved our stay and we loved the hotel.

Above all expectations. We had a lovely room 102 overlooking the square. Every morning at 7:30 a bell is ringing in the next church of St. Moses, very atmospheric. Perfectly cleaned in the room every day. There is a kettle, fridge. The room is very warm, there is air conditioning. Even disposable toothbrushes and small pastes were found in the bathroom. Breakfast is great! Be sure to sit at a table by the window, watching the gondoliers. In addition to all the usual dishes every day there were various casseroles and sandwiches. You can drink prosecco. The staff is very responsive, everything was so fine that we would come back again. Up to San Marco, 2 minutes in slow steps, very close to the stop of paropretto and alilaguna (blue line B).

I always come to this hotel in September for the comfort, the courtesy of the staff and the splendid breakfast. The only regret is that the bathrooms are not very spacious even if perfectly equipped.

Service was excellent at Hotel Violino. Every issue I had or question about the room upon arrival was promptly answered and responded to throughout our entire stay.

The bathroom was renovated and perfect . Good shower and all the ammenities and towels were provided daily. We were in an economy room which was very small and a bit dated(there are no photos of this size of room on their website), but it was air conditioned, new windows, the bed was comfortable and there was no noise from other rooms. The breakfast was absolutely awesome. Great choice of options for travellers and an automatic espresso machine which made great lattes. Hotel Violino has an amazing location. Right in the centre of all the action. I would definitely recommend this hotel to friends and stay here again.

Thank you for a great stay!

Excellent welcome, room with a nice canal view with an alarm clock listening gondoliers, simple breakfast and especially a location of the hotel ideal for visiting Venice, a point to improve the TV reception not very clear.
