We only stayed one night, the hotel is located in a strategic position and very close to Piazza San Marco, clean rooms and professional and helpful staff, I highly recommend staying overnight in this lovely hotel

Close, very close to all the center of interests of Venice but very quiet no noise. Everything is perfect: the staff, the cleanliness, the amenities. The bedding is excellent. The hearty breakfasts and quality. The staff is lovely. I can only advise you 100% to book your eyes closed in this establishment.

Excellent location, very friendly staff.

Excellent location, very friendly staff.
The room is very romantic, spacious and elegant, we were in a superior room with a terrace and it was just as we saw on the internet.
When we return to Venice we will choose it again.

We were forced to cancel our trip due to COVID19. We emailed Hotel Violino D'Oro many times asking for a refund or a voucher to stay next year instead. All of our emails were answered with a standard email that the hotel was not open. At no time did we ever get a response telling us that we could get a voucher or a refund or even re-book our dates. So we have lost our money.

Now they have sent us a review survey to complete! Seriously?

A great hotel with a perfect location! We had the junior suit with its own balcony and suitable couches for the summer. The room and the entire hotel were super clean. Breakfast was delicious and had a reasonable selection. I have absolutely nothing to complain about here, would book this hotel again and again!

Really delicious hotel and room, very friendly and professional staff, strategic and close location served by a very close vaporetto stop, varied and tasty breakfast.
To be revisited.

What a gem! The staff was fantastic, so welcoming and friendly. The location is perfect, not in the thick of things but close enough for a short walk. The hotel is located on a small canal with a gondola kiosk right outside so there was plenty of people watching to do. The rooms are quaint and well-appointed. By American standards, it was a touch small. but there was plenty of room for the two of us and our luggage. I will return again.

I was in this Hotel a couple of years ago. Hotel and in a perfect place to get to know Venice around all the things to visit in Venice. Bell Hotel with the canal directly in front.

When entering the room, a bottle of Proseco with biscuits awaits you
Room service very good
Staff very warm
Morning food absolutely sufficient and is always Proseco here
We have rooms with a view of the canal, during the day that was quite loud, but very nice to watch the gondolas. In the evening no drink was absolute peace

So pleased with our hotel - comfortably small with very friendly, helpful staff. Very pleasant room and lovely breakfast. The location of the hotel is absolutely perfect - only a short walk from St Mark's Square and so convenient for exploring Venice's historical centre. Also a picturesque location very close to the beautiful facade of San Moise church and overlooking the San Moise canal.

Great!

Violino d'Oro was a stunning hotel experience - from the Murano glass light fixtures to the room windows overlooking a canal filled with gondolas to the delicious breakfast and lovely toiletries. They even left us a bottle of champagne and local cookies gratis. The location is perfect - a couple of blocks from Piazza San Marco but over a tiny bridge to separate it from the heavy tourist traffic. Just a short 10 minute walk to the Rialto bridge and market, with decent, reputable dining nearby.

Location ok attached to the square, we did 3 nights in a triple room the breakfast was good and varied, the room clean and well heated and also on the occasion of the new year they made us find in the room a bottle of excellent sparkling wine, and all the staff was helpful and kind.

Hotel in a great location close to everything. The best breakfast we had in Italy. Friendly staff. There is an elevator. Air conditioning.
If you arrive in Porto, so as not to brag, it is recommended to get off at the capit di porto station. Take into account a bridge near the hotel (9 steps to go up and down)

Wonderful hotel to stay at in Venice. Very centrally located and an incredible buffet breakfast, including champagne for mimosas and made to order cappuccinos or espresso. Would definitely stay there on my next visit to Venice.

Well located and large rooms, at least ours, the bar for breakfast very small and with dwarf tables where elbows breakfast. Very well located, very unfriendly neither at the entrance nor at the exit and that was Christmas Day, it is worth staying one night but I left 100 euros that sl less to my hard to earn

Excellent value for money

We received the usual cordial hospitality in a hotel in a strategic position and that maintains the ancient charm of the city. Very nice corner room with a view of the canal and the square

I would highly recommend this hotel. The location is great. Breakfast is above average, WITH EVERYTHING FROM EGGS TO PASTRIES TO AN ARRAY OF MEATS OF CHEESES, AS WELL AS CAPPUCCINO, ESPRESSO, VARIOUS JUICES. Room is very large.

We stayed at Hotel Violino D'Oro for our honeymoon from 7/4 - 7/6. We were upgrated to their suite with a large balcony, which was a nice, pleasant surprise. They also had a bottle of chilled prosecco waiting for us upon our arrival. The room and bathroom were clean, and the air conditioning worked well.

However, and I'm not sure if this is typical for Venice or this hotel, the shower water was super weird. It alternated between ice cold and scalding hot, making it an interesting challenge to take a shower. I love a nice shower, so this was super disappointing.

The bed, albeit large and clean, wasn't very comfortable.

The best things about breakfast were the DIY pancake maker, DIY coffee maker, prosecco, and croissants. The eggs and bacon were very bland, but it wasn't a big inconvenience to fill up on carbs and booze.

All in all, I wouldn't necessarily recommend Hotel Violino D'Oro, but it wasn't the worst place I've ever stayed in by any means.

I give it 5 stars for the situation, near the vaporetto stop, San Marcos square a stone's throw away, the small room and the bathroom could be improved but for what it cost it is worth it since we went in November and it went out to 85 euros.
The breakfast was not bad, it was not excessive as in other places but of quality.
The treatment of very good people.
I would go back again because of how well it is located.

Very nice hotel close to St. Mark's Square and chic shops. The staff very friendly and speaks French. Breakfast self service choice varied and refurbished very quickly the staff is present and listening to us. In front of the hotel service of gondolas.

We stayed in Junior suite and it was excellent. Room with King size bed was very spacious and easy access to terrace which overlooked the canal with gondolier station. Bathroom was very clean and quite large. Large windows in room overlooking small square below with scenic view.
Location of Hotel in San Marco is excellent as it was a very short walk to and from Water taxi station.
Staff at front desk were very helpful and we were able to check in early to our room.
We would definitely stay at this hotel the next time we visit Venice.

Lovely stay at this hotel. Reasonably priced. Very clean. Great staff very helpful and knowledgeable. The breakfast selection was great just what you need to start your day off before sight seeing in this beautiful place. I would definitely stay here again.

We stayed in this lovely hotel for second time. We got the same room again with channel view, which was a great surprise! So the feeling was like we came back our guest home. We got complimentary bottle of champagne, which was very warm welcoming for us. We are happy with everything as usually. Great breakfast, friendly staff, beautiful and spacious room. Great location, because it close to St Marco piazza. Hotel is expensive, but it is Venice, so what else can you expect for good quality!:) 5 stars

Hotel centrally located, Marlusplatz can be reached in 5 minutes. The rooms are decorated in baroque style. As a greeting, a bottle of Prosecco awaits the guest free of charge. The staff is helpful and friendly, the breakfast buffet rich. The breakfast room is not very big but cozy atmosphere.
I have been to this hotel 4x and can only recommend it highly.

The hotel is situated just a short walk from all the places of interest and during the day on a busy canal. The staff are professional and helpful. The rooms are clean and well looked after (ours was 102) with a canal view. Breakfast is good, with a brilliant selection of fare. We will certainly return a forth time, so it must be good. Booking direct with the hotel was the cheapest option, with free welcome wine if did. The only issue we had was that some blackout curtains were missing, so the occupants of the opposite hotel could look in when our lights were on.

We stayed in the hotel for one night, and we loved it, both the room and the hotel in the old style but very well maintained and clean. Great breakfast, and importantly, the location is excellent, less than 5 minutes walk from Piazza San Marco. We love it, we highly recommend it and we will certainly return to Violino D'Oro on our return to Venice.

Excellent location

It has surprised us a lot and we would repeat it without a doubt.

Just a few meters from St. Mark's Square and very close to the vaporetto station, this hotel has enchanted us. Small but very functional, Violino d'Oro has made our stay perfect. We enjoyed an upgrade to a Junior Suite without any cost with a private terrace that offered beautiful views of a canal where gondolas passed, the room was spacious and very cozy, taken care of to the last detail, and the breakfast very good and plentiful in a small dining room. The attention of the staff was very good, offering us the necessary help, and allowing us to leave our suitcase in the concierge on the last day until our departure to the airport. Without a doubt, we recommend 100% this beautiful hotel.

We really appreciated the welcome and the responsiveness of the Reception staff
Also the breakfast, good and very varied (note that coffee and cappuccino included in the price
Breakfast when in general there is a supplement)
Proximity to Place St Marco and the city center, very beautiful haute couture boutique nearby
Heating malfunctioning, it was necessary to call the Reception twice to set up in the room
and the bathroom
Housekeeping not done in the room once despite the notice on the door and to be improved to complete
this pretty charming hotel!
Thanks everyone!

A welcome surprise. Upon arrival we found in the room a very good bottle of prosecco offered by the Management.

The Violin D'Oro is within walking distance of Marcus Square with the Campanile and the Palazzo Duccale on the one hand and the Rialto Bridge on the other. It is just two blocks from San Marco jetty. It is located in the middle of the shopping district with designer shops. The hotel itself has a 24 hour front desk with helpful staff, offers a very decent breakfast buffet and nicely decorated, clean rooms with free Wi-Fi. Despite the central location and the gondola-departure bridge directly next to the hotel, it is quiet inside the hotel.
The Violin D'Oro is highly recommended.

My wife and I stayed here May 25 and 26. We loved the location. Hotel is close to many places with in San Marco but just far enough away from the plaza and chaos to be comfortable. The front desk staff were excellent and were professional and very helpful to recommendations for shops and restaurants. Staff was very helpful for directions and also assisted in reserving water taxis too! Room was beautiful but small. Bathroom was extremely small and shower was tiny. My only real complaint was the firmness of the bed! Ouch it was hard and we would wake up to stiff backs our two mornings. It was nice to wake up to the Gondoliers just outside our windows. Besides harshness of bed no other negatives.

Stayed here for my moms 70th birthday. Decided to stay at Hotel Violino Doro because I'd stayed there 3 years prior and loved it. The hotel managet Daniella was so helpful and made sure we enjoyed our stayed. She put us in a nice room and arranged for some sparkling wine for our room. The hotel is centrally located and the rooms are clean and comfortable. The breakfast was excellent and the restaurant staff made sure the breakfast buffet bar was fully stocked with delicious items. Because of Daniella and her thoughtfulness we will definitely be back.

I couldn't express my admiration for your beautiful hotel, best location, walking distance to Piazza San Marcos, St Mark's Basilica, steps to the gondolas!! and the best very safe to walk at night and listen the violins of all the nice restaurants around the piazza. I forgot breakfast is delicious, only please bigger water glasses!!!

We stayed for 3 nights. It's a pleasant stay, great location as the hotel is in close proximity to San Marco (Water Bus) stop. The gondola service is literally next to the hotel. The room with canal view was great as you can see and hear gondoliers serenade tourists. The WiFi was free. Overall it's a great hotel and would come back again.

I recommend a double room with a view of the square and the canal. Very good breakfasts. The only note - the reception refused to print the boarding pass, and therefore I had to appear an hour earlier at the airport than I intended.
