Nice restaurant pleasant service. Highly recommended.

Super great hotel, nice surroundings, great and nice staff

My daughter and her boyfriend have been in this hotel this weekend. High expectations given that we have had many good experiences in various hotels. Looked at the website and saw the beautiful corner rooms, and booked them. What a big disappointment, they got a non upgraded room. It was their first weekend together, paid with the v.d. Falcon gift card they had received from us. The breakfast was also not of the quality that our daughter knows from our many visits. All in all, they came home disillusioned. Too bad!

Delicious eaten really super. Just a little bit of noise from outside. Especially from people with roll suitcases across the parking lot. Well 5steren very friendly staff as used to vd valk.

A super nice hotel. Value for money is impeccable, rooms with great views and very clean. Bed was comfortable and breakfast was absolutely amazing. Also our dog was welcomed friendly and was no problem for the hotel.

A quietly located van der falcon 10 minutes drive from Groningen center.

The so-called 'Comfort' section has beautiful rooms with a terrace or balcony and is separate from the restaurant or reception.
The rooms are as in any van der valk: clean & comfortable. However, the shower head needed to be descaled, the rain shower went in all directions.

The hotel can also be reached by bus, the bus stop is a 5-minute walk from the hotel and runs through the center to the train station.

This hotel is the best choice for a weekend in Groningen.

A bit of food and drink in a cozy, slightly dated restaurant. Which of course does not detract from the good service, friendly welcome and the delicious food.

I had a family reunion there in the morning to accommodate the elderly in my family, since a full dinner would have been to much. The service was, considering our situation, very considerate. The food was good, it displayed a sense of luxury, too much for my comfort, but anything relatively expensive would be.
The location was decent, the hotel itself was very nice. The surroundings did make it look a little like a diamond in the rough.

Well cared for and clean. Location is slightly remote from the center.

This is only a hotel that knows how to deal with the Corona misery. The service is great, the young are extremely helpful and patient. We had a renovated room that was top notch. We will come back again

Recently stayed 2 days in Van der Valk Groningen-Westerbroek

Upon entering the room, it looked good at first glance. We had booked the comfort room in the renovated part.

However, when entering the bathroom a smoke (cigarette) smell came to mind. We reported this to the reception and were immediately assigned another room. The rooms in the new part look good and neat. Only the beds are 2 single beds that slide apart quickly. Later it turned out that there are also rooms with fixed beds, so ask about this when you make a reservation.

I think they forgot to renew the bathroom, because it is a bit dated, but meets all requirements and is clean.

Dinner at this Van der Valk is highly recommended and the service leaves nothing to be desired.

Breakfast first day, we were there at 10:00 am, and breakfast was until 10:30 am, was fairly sparse and was not replenished, despite the fact that people were still coming in.

Second day we were there at 9:30 am, then there was still enough.

Work is still taking place in the hotel (in the renovated part), and at the entrance was a sign that the work will start from 9:00 am. However, I don't think the best people had yet set their clock, because at 8:00 they started hammering.

All in all, this stay is fine. Can you eat well and are they open to your feedback.

Breakfast buffet was a bit disappointing. Too bad the hotel rooms were in a different building. Evening meal was good. No view.

Dirty, dirty, dirty
Staff are friendly and helpful, rooms are kind of okay, breakfast was good.
The reception hall is furnished with all sorts of cheap kitsch knick-knacks (think of zebra blankets and the like, among others) and the cobwebs on the chandeliers have been hanging there for at least 3 months, not to mention the dust.
Furthermore, the shower walls are full of lime (logic dictates that they are not systematically cleaned properly).
There is a lot of dust in the room. You must sneeze spontaneously if you just touch the curtain and there are too many (and old) cobwebs there. It also does not smell really fresh.
The outdoor area is overflowing with cigarette butts, not just in front of our room, but over the entire length, a thick, dirty aso gang.
We were already at many different hotels, most of them Van der Valk, but this one is by far the worst. Heavily below par.
If you do not necessarily have to be in the area for your work or occasion, you should not book this.

Excellent hotel with above average friendly and attentive staff, excellent breakfast, easily accessible with sufficient parking spaces

Every time we come here we always go home with a good feeling. Hospitality always eats this well.

Neat service in a beautiful and attractive restaurant

We are in Groningen to go to the performance of the Soul Sisters. Have indicated that we are going here and that the show starts at 8 p.m. Immediately they thought about reserving a table at the reception. Very good food! Fantastic service, which despite the crowds, remained very attentive and kept an eye on us. In short, from Arnhem in the future perhaps worth repeating !!

Served today by Marissa, who immediately responded to the low table due to. wheelchair use of my father. My Dad was perfectly at dinner with cubes under the table. Good food and friendly service. Marissa also had time and attention for the customers at other tables. A compliment is in order.

Nice hotel, great room and extensive breakfast buffet. Just a pity that you had to walk outside to your room and back to the lobby. But that of course does not affect the rest of the service.

Definitely recommended if you want to make a city trip to Groningen.
You can buy p + r tickets at the reception at a reduced rate.

We spent a little Easter weekend in the "van der valk hotel". Everyone was very friendly and helpful. It is very quiet in the spacious rooms. The decor of the room is great. It is clean everywhere (room, outdoor area, restaurant, buffet, dishes ...)! We felt very comfortable there and also enjoyed dinner. The food was very nicely prepared, tasty and the price-performance ratio was good.
We can definitely recommend this hotel and would come back anytime.

Westerbroek thinks that a lovely hotel where the customer is of paramount importance is better than Zuidbroek. Zuidbroek is more businesslike. The food is fine and breakfast is finished, several hotels or hotel chains can take an example here. a lot better than the Costa where you go through the sheet with your elbow and an air dryer is blowing to your room or cabin for 3 days due to a leak and then it is said he must dock.

The wait staff promised delicious gluten-free pastry to the table companion. We got apple pie and he nothing. After reporting he could only get a cookie.
