My image of Van der Valk was negative and dated. Hotel Groningen-Westerbroek clearly shows that it keeps up with the times and has made a very positive impression on me.

The Comfort Rooms are without a doubt excellent and complete. The breakfast is very extensive and well cared for. The restaurant offers an extensive menu with well-executed dishes at interesting prices.

The employees here are friendly, professional and driven. In short, a hotel / restaurant that delivers a lot for relatively little money. I have been in hotels that were many times more expensive but do not reach the level of Hotel-Groningen-Westerbroek.

I can therefore wholeheartedly recommend this hotel.

Very affordable overnight stay in a very nice and clean room. Staff was great, and breakfast was very extensive. The breakfast only lacks a bit of options for vegetarians who prefer to do without cheese. Nevertheless, I would like to come back here again.

A Van der Valk with its own ambiance, well-kept borders, quality service, a wide range of tasteful dishes and a top selection of wines.

Large rooms, unfortunately the rooms are located in an annex and not on the main building. Plumbing was good although shower head kept running when you switched it to the tap. Unfortunately no coffee maker but instant coffee in the room. Beds comfortable and electronics in room good. Dinner and lunch arranged very well.

In particular the restaurant (dinner, breakfast, staff) certainly managed to convince!

We stayed one day here at the hotel. The rooms were neat and very spacious. We will definitely recommend this hotel to everyone.

Nice room but suffer from noise guests in the middle of the night, both in parking lot, corridor and room. You have to go outside for breakfast because of the cold. No special location.

It was a long time ago that we had been there. In my experience it was also one of the 'lesser' van der Valk. But how it was fixed. Nice room and tidy. Good breakfast. Staff very friendly and helpful. No minus points. Definitely worth repeating!

Well taken care of. Room looked ok. Wonderful shower and bath. Bed is super comfortable. Will be well cleaned. Breakfast and dinner delicious too. You will be well informed about how and what.

Small and cozy hotel. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Excellent menu and quality food. Hotel rooms are nicely decorated and there is an excellent bed.

We had a sewer smell in our bathroom. Very old hotel with old fashioned cold furniture. Lots of dirt on floor, wall and ceiling (splat mosquitos with blood). Dozens os small living frogs, in the hotel!!) Long walk (outside)from reception to room. No welness or swiming pool. Shower was 50 cm high and slippery! Very dangerous! Breakfast was good. Free parking.

Born in Groningen and now living in Hillegom for about 35 years, my wife and I, van der Valk in Westerbroek, chose to celebrate Christmas and my birthday there. The choice to celebrate these holidays in a van der Valk hotel was well-considered, because we have never been disappointed in this hotel chain.
This time it was great again, we had a wonderful dinner in a relaxed and cozy Christmas atmosphere. What I also loved was the walk in and through the peat area around this beautiful hotel. As if we were asked a question, there was a willing ear and a solution was sought. Top.
For us it was great again this time at van der Valk and would like to come back again.

Very good restaurant. In our opinion best van der Valk restaurant in the Northern Netherlands, and we already visited quite a few. Saw that they receive meat from Anloo (Drenthe meat) Beautiful location near Groningen with sufficient parking space.

It was certainly not bad, but was shocked ... For van der valk quality a little too expensive.

Coincidentally drove by on the way back and stopped for coffee. Nice terrace, nice staff and great coffee.

Easily accessible and in a quiet location. Clean and modern, bright rooms with a wonderful bathroom and fully equipped. Breakfast very extensive and tasty, something for everyone.

I was here with some friends for a wonderful dinner. The quality of the food was excellent and the service from the staff too! Great class!

Excellent chain Van der Valk hotels, as in what part of Europe are or in which country. Excellent service, modern ambience and delicious food. Free parking and a welcoming world. I am very pleased and recommend the hotel. A note about the more discerning people: guest rooms are located in a separate building, close to the restaurant building. To enjoy the restaurant, it takes about 2 minutes to walk from one building to the other, outdoors under an open sky and a small number of stairs.

Nice hotel with spacey rooms (building with 3 stories). The restaurant serves great food for reasonable prices.
A lot of nature around the hotel but nothing to do nearby, either.

Slightly older Van der Valk Hotel. Quietly situated on a nature reserve, yet only ten minutes by car from the center of Groningen. Incredibly friendly and hospitable staff. We had a luxurious comfort room that was located in an annex, 50 meters from the main building. Has a cozy terrace, and the menu offers delicious dishes that are served in large portions. The breakfast is great, just like we are used to from Van der Valk. Certainly an address to come back again.

Fine hotel with a room in the annexe, on the ground floor with a terrace door. The room is spacious and suitable to stay in hours outside the night.
The food in delicious and definitely affordable. The staff tries very hard to make you happy.
A stay is highly recommended.

i had a great time here, staff at the reception was great, rooms where spacious and modern, with a nice view over the dutch flatlands.
they have a great restaurant with many things to choose from the menu, i went for a salad, i enjoyed it.

Breakfast perfectly organized, hotel room neat, nice bathroom. As a Valk-exclusive member we expected more from the dinner, this was actually a bit disappointing.
