Didn't spend the night, but spend 4 days on a course. As usual, Van der Valk serves very decent food.

My girlfriend and I have been here twice with my parents. The first time we dined here delicious and last night we drove specially to see the delicious fruit sorbet. The sorbet is recommended !!!

Small-scale hotel with friendly staff. We slept in the new comfort room which is quite nice after the shower cubicle. A walk-in shower like in most Van der Valk hotels we have been to is a lot more attractive.
It is a pity that there is no separate bar, but that you have to sit between the restaurant visitors to have a drink.
The breakfast is also a lot simpler than in the other hotels that we visited. So despite the very warm welcome at the reception, no more Groningen Westerbroek for us.

Nice motel / restaurant on the Winschoterdiep. Shame about the road just before restaurant. Nice nature reserve nearby.

Dinner, overnight and breakfast. Very satisfied with all three. An attractive room with a beautiful view over the fields. The dinner was delicious: there is a wide choice - fish, meat and vegetarian - and local products are used. The breakfast offered an extensive range of bread, spreads and dairy.

We had lunch outside, it was a special experience with the one and a half meter service !! Well arranged !! Everything tasted great, delicious mustard soup !! Recommended.

The food and the rooms were fabulous. The location is a few minutes drive from Groningen, but very quiet and nice. If you want to spend a weekend for two, or with several, relaxed and if you want to see the beautiful city you definitely can not go wrong with the hotel, because the service was great.

Nice hotel with excellent cuisine. Delicious eaten. One downside, for the comfort rooms you have to go outside, down a stone staircase where the sidewalk tiles are uneven. Elderly people with a walker fight to open the door and hold the walker. Think of something that solves this problem.

Had been here once in the past. Now again and it appears that they have some kind of houses next to it. That went very well.

Nice hotel with good breakfast. We were in the low hotel section. After going out for bed at 2 am. Only the fire alarm went off at 6 AM. Poor communication from the hotel what was wrong and whether we had to leave or not. Signed close to the reception and only apologies or no compensation. Turned out to be a hot hotel shower, causing the alarm to go off ...

In this Van der Valk Hotel you can enjoy breakfast, lunch and dinner. The hotel rooms are what you expect from a good hotel room. Nice people in the ministry. There is plenty of parking space and the hotel is very neat.

One tip, the prices on the desert menu do not match what is on the receipt.

Setback. Not a clean room. Outhouse we slept in had no rural view at all as advertised but was more of a crematorium. Complained about the room. Solution: upgrade on next stay.

Nice room in the new part. The only drawback is that you have to go outside to go to reception and restaurant. We ate very well in the restaurant. Also vegetarian.

Most expensive room:
Dirty old bathroom.
Mold on the oldschool shower cabin doors.
Empty soap dispensers.
When the toilet roll is used up empty.
No climate control (radiator button)
No v / d falcon worthy breakfast.
Not a pleasant experience.

We are real 'Valk fans' and would like to leave a positive review. This time a little less satisfied than other times.

Pros:
* The corona measures were used very well at breakfast.
* staff is very friendly.

Cons:
For this we stayed 2 nights in the Valk-Wolvega, because there was no room there for a third night, we went looking for a hotel with the same rating. However, this was quite disappointing.
- On arrival, our room was really not clean. Fridge was still full from the previous one, hair in the sink, etc. This was resolved by the staff present. In exchange, we were allowed to borrow the camp bed one night for free and we received a drink.
- Furthermore, the rooms are quite small compared to other Valk hotels and there is no Nespresso machine in the rooms.

Nice hotel, just outside the city of Groningen. There are many meadows around the hotel and along the canal you can also take a walk. Furthermore, great rooms and a nice terrace for a bake.

We were in the family room in a side building. Nice room at first sight. But unfortunately after one night it fell against the air conditioning every 3 min. Doors that opened and closed in the morning were unfortunately very well heard. The person who slept on the side of the window also had to cross a radiator convector grate. Is not really very nice with bare feet, maybe a cloth or something over it.

The first morning we could get breakfast because they didn't bring breakfast so early. Unfortunately this was not communicated so unfortunately a lot of hassle to get it. At 7:00 am there was very little in the way of products and this was dry while you can have breakfast at 6: oo, so this day again a lot of hassle.

Had a ticket on how best to drive, this turned out to be wrong too, so Google maps started and luckily it brought us to the boat just in time. When we got back to the room at 9:00 PM the Kids were looking forward to the shower together, this room has two showers ideal. But unfortunately within 2 minutes the shower turned out to no longer run. Phew, after a very short shower to bed. Woke up a number of times from the air conditioning because yes, even though it is off, it starts. Kids super tired but unfortunately woke up again before 7 because people were going to have breakfast and it is super noisy here. All this indicated was little done with the shower was arranged the lady of the housekeeping came to indicate that it was resolved seemed to understand us.
Breakfast today was reasonable pastries were frozen as it seemed were chewy though fresh fried eggs pancakes.

After breakfast I was planning to relax on our terrace but unfortunately what turned out to be on arrival, 2 chairs were not deposited just in the parking place while there were rooms with a bush or bed in front of their seat. This is not suitable for children because who let them walk around when there are cars, but this all seems to be normal. You don't actually have a terrace, but 2 chairs, a table and an umbrella in the parking lot, I was told that a terrace was nice and handy at the time. So I would say don't book a family room. Or with fewer older children.

Last morning breakfast ok just before departure our little girl sat with her toes between the grid on the side of the bed she was quite shocked by this, this indicated together with the fact that the ants were walking on the floor and the desk was also here seemed very laconic about the ants to write down but that was it. This problem of the ants had already arisen but no longer wanted to report it, we felt completely unheard. Communication is not great because the Schiermonnikoog arrangement was also a hassle with Kids tickets, this has finally been resolved.

Final conclusion: breakfast could be better and family room not booked with young children. Definitely do not book a room if you are sleeping because all air conditioners turn on, and it is very noisy, especially in the adjacent building. Dinner was fine, cozy ambiance.l

Eventually a call was made after this and the other reviews. The complaints were listened to and they looked for solutions for the garden, well what a garden terrace should be. Air con and grate and breakfast. Did that when we were there 3 nights. But I did receive 2 toucan hugs, well. If you say to change things, be tough enough to offer people to come for a night if it is the way it should be according to the company. This compensation makes no sense. Also let the hotel know they will come back to it.

For us the Best Van Der Valk ,. Quietly located between the meadows, very friendly service, clean rooms, and very tasty food. Super TOP

Overall a good hotel, decent room (a bit noisy) nice dinner and mediocre breakfast (check carefully before you eat)

Friendly and helpful staff, breakfast was not very extensive, but sufficient choice, the omelette is definitely recommended :) Cozy spacious room, very tidy. The bathroom was a bit dated and a little less clean. General price / quality is fine!
